Intermittent Grind in 3rd/4th w/Rebuilt Transmission

Haha, man, where were you at when I made this post 3 years ago. You seem to have a good understanding of how to address what's going on, maybe you can solve these guys issues before they get frustrated and part out the trans/clutch/flywheel and go auto like I did lol.

    Building my dream garage!

Thanks man.I was undecided with the foam board, I felt like it would be easy to install, but I wouldn't want to use it without finishing it with plywood or drywall or something.I think part of why my bubble wrap is making such a big difference is how much air space is behind it, especially...

    Building my dream garage!

Been a while since I've updated this, the insulation install has been a long, drawn out process but it's finally done.I definitely bit off more than I could chew with this project, I didn't think it would be too difficult in the beginning, boy was I wrong. But we still managed to get it done...

    Building my dream garage!

Thanks!Unfortunately 3 phase is not available in my subdivision so just single phase 220.Right now I just have a 60amp sub-feed from the house, but if I keep going at this rate I may need to move to a 100-150amp service.Though since it's just my personal garage in not usually running...

    Building my dream garage!

Finally finished up with the far wall. I can't get any extra hands for a few weeks to do the roof as my lift is booked up with repairs for the next few weekends, so I got to clean up the shop a little. It's been killing me how messy it has been.I already cut in the other wall sleve for my 2nd...

Getting there....slowly but surely.Just have to do the back wall and the roof now.

    Building my dream garage!

Good luck! We had a rough first time home buying experience, but in the end it did finally work out for the best.

    Building my dream garage!

Started to hang my insulation/radiant barrier. I don't expect it to work miracles, but I do hope that it will help a bit. We struggled for a while to find the best/most efficient way to hang it, after a bit of headache we came up with a method that seemed to work pretty well.Tape all 3 4ft...

    Building my dream garage!

Just finished installing my 20" ventilation fan today. With the bay doors closed and just my entry way door open I can feel a slight breeze inside, immediately made a huge difference, very happy with my results.Put it on a programmable timer so I can have it come on for a few minutes every...

    Building my dream garage!

Well I just went on their site and built a 20x21x9 building with 2 9x8 roll up doors and 1 standard entry door and it came to $5600 shipped/installed. But you'll also need concrete work done, which for a 20x21 will probably be about $2000, another $1000 or so in electrical work. You also need...

    Building my dream garage!

Some people might call this overkill, but I'm a sucker for numbers, and results, almost like a dynoing a car, I like to see real world differences from changes I make, and not just a "seat of the pants" assumption. So, I ordered 2500sq feet of Double-Bubble Radiant Barrier to go in the shop...

    Building my dream garage!

Interesting that they can just "ban" a style of shed/garage.But yeah, I'd be SOL if I tried to build a Pole Barn this big, probably cost at least twice as much.

    Building my dream garage!

Anything is possible! I work an average blue collar job, I just manage my money well and am super cheap when it comes to most things, if I can do it, so can anyone else!

    Building my dream garage!

Been a while since I updated, Finally had the extra money to get the last 4 of my T8 Light fixtures installed, and I started building a few shelving units and moved most of my car related stuff from the attached garage out to the shop. Been hoarding these stackable bins from work whenever they...

Did you happen to be the one who bought "BlackCar" ?I used to frequent the Gainsville scene a lot when my buddy Adam Peeples used to live there, I know Sav, Jimmy Lowry, and a few other guys down there.I know my black 1g made it into a teaser clip racing Jimmy's Fox way back in the day...

I'm in the Mandarin area. I haven't had my car out in a while, with buying our first home and building my shop funds have been tight. That being said if you guys ever do a tech day, glad to host it at my place. Just got done building a 3 bay 1000sq ft shop in my back yard. No lift yet, but I...

Need Some Advice - Jacksonville/Orange Park

If you find a transmission to put in it I'll put it in no problem. I live in Mandarin area.On a side note, yes, Jax leaving did hinder our "meets", but let's face it, there were only 2-3 DSM's that showed up and about 20 Evo's. The DSM scene in Jax has been progressively getting worse over...

    Building my dream garage!

Just a little update. When we bought the house the fence on the side where my shop was being built was just a fence, no gate, so with all the dump trucks and concrete trucks coming I had just removed the fence completely. Now that the majority of the construction was completed I wanted to get a...

    90 Talon Weekend Warrior. Tucked Everything, HTA68 + N20

Yeah it's been too long for sure!Sticking with a stock bottom end for now.If I could get the DSM to run mid 10's @ 130ish (I've already gone 131 just with a terrible E/T) I'd be satisfied. The fox will be the REAL fast track car lol.

    90 Talon Weekend Warrior. Tucked Everything, HTA68 + N20

I just bought a house in Mandarin off Old St. Augustine road, previously I had been living off of Atlantic. I used to go to the Bi-Weekly EVO/DSM meet at Broadway/ wherever else we used to go.I haven't had my DSM there in a while since it's been down for the auto swap for what seems like...

    90 Talon Weekend Warrior. Tucked Everything, HTA68 + N20

No nothing substantial. Over the past 6 months we bought our first home, and I just got done building my 24x40 garage so that's been tying up all of my extra cash.I'm going to start working on it within the next few months so I'll be sure to update the thread.

    auto trans build up

For what it's worth if your transmission is in good working condition you should be able to make 600hp without doing anything at all aside from a shiftbox / blue-wire mod.An aftermarket converter will obviously make a difference in your E/Ts, but it is not needed to handle power. There are...

    Building my dream garage!

Those joints are 4" tall. You nail them to whatever existing slab you have, flush with the top of the existing slab, most standard slabs are 3"-4" thick so they usually go all the way through.
  28. EclipseOwner95

    Building my dream garage!

You can get "soft cut" blades, and cut them about 4-6 hours after you pour, but there is no way or use to do them when it's wet. They use a different kind of expansion joint when you are joining 2 slabs together. I have these between my garage slab and the apron, and between my patio and the...
  29. EclipseOwner95

    Building my dream garage!

Those are called expansion joints, they are only about an inch deep, concrete grows a small amount when it hardens, if you don't cut these reliefs within a day or two of pouring, you risk the slab cracking.Next time you look at your driveway there will probably be at least one or two cuts...

Best turbo Setup for the 1g auto awd 1/8th mile

What?1. You can get a nitrous kit for $300-$400. You'd only be hitting it with a 50 shot for 1-2 seconds at most, so a 10lb bottle will last a long time.2. There are no "Awesome" OTS 1G Converters anymore, so you're looking at $1500+ for a properly set up 1G converter.3. Big stall in...

    Building my dream garage!

The local Lexus dealer is building a new Service/Mechanics area/show room and they gave all the lifts to the superintendent as part of payment for the job.My dad is doing concrete work there so he talked to him and was able to get one of them, he has 3, I'm trying to get one more, but we'll see.

    Building my dream garage!

    Building my dream garage!

I have a line on a used Rotary lift from a Lexus dealer at the moment. Only plan on 1 for now, in the center bay. I may get 1 more, but definitely not 3.The bay closest to the entrance door will more than likely be empty for the most part, but I wanted to have in case I needed to store a car...

Yes all of them will lock, there are 3 separate locks so you can lock some sections and leave other sections unlocked. You can lock the top and left side of the top box, the right side of the top box, and the entire bottom box locks.

5 Year warranty on the box. The box is really nice, 100lb drawer rating, dual ball bearing, feels leaps and bounds better than the comparable Craftsman boxes that I looked at at Sears.I also have the Kobalt 20V Li-Ion set, 1/4" Impact, 1/2" impact, Sawzall, Drill, and Flashlight and they...

No updates, the concrete plant didn’t run this weekend so we didn’t get to pour unfortunately so I’ll just have to wait until next weekend.I did get a nice deal on an open box tool box from Lowes.I really wanted to get the 53” one but for what I paid for the 41” I could buy 2 of them for...

    Building my dream garage!

Oh I see, the only reason I've seen/heard of using gravel under the slab is for freezing climates to separate the concrete from the ground.Going to use the same grade concrete I used on the foundation, I want to make sure that this stuff stands the test of time as I'm still pretty young...
  46. EclipseOwner95

    Building my dream garage!

No, not necessary, it doesn't freeze often here, certainly not long enough to free water under the slab.I run a compactor over the dirt as well, we've never put gravel under our slabs and never had any issues.
