  1. New 1G subframe bushings

I'm most definetly interested, but it's not currently in the budget. Do you think these might still be available 6 months from now? (Maybe some more places will be available and I could order more then these.)
  2. 1st Time going to track this weekend

What kind of tires are you running? You shouldn't run street tires too far below their rated pressure. It will actually cause the tread in the middle of the tire to come up off the ground and give you less traction. Check the pressure rating on the side of the tire. I wouldn't go much more than...
  3. Which way does the oil flow? filter direction

The center threaded hole on the filter is the clean oil out, and the several holes are the oil inlet into the filter, correct?Just verifying that the oil pressure sender port on a forward facing filter housing is the clean oil.Thank you. Kris
  4. Stripped Driveshaft Studs?

It took about that long to cut off the stud, drill straight up through it into the car, then drop a long grade 8 down the hole and weld it on the floor. (I actually welded the bolt head to a large 1 1/2" washer then welded the washer to the floor after shaping it to the contour of the floor.)...
  5. grinding ever other tooth off the synchro

JNZTuning also has the double 3-4 available.
  6. I totaly screwed the pooch on this one! Brake problem help.

The best part is you still don't have a hole drilled for that line. LOL Hope you get it fixed.
  7. Highest Power Mitsu Exhaust manifold

No at that level it won't be a large restriction(I run the 6152sp and only expect a 3mph difference between mitsu housing and a properly sized t3) 430-460whp: What fuel or fuel combination are you planning to run to achieve this power level with that turbo? Some people on this board have...
  8. Highest Power Mitsu Exhaust manifold

I just don't understand without knowing the rest of the setup how that answers his question, Hell I know someone with a 2g manifold and a 14b that went into the 10's.To OP yes people have done over 500whp(guaranteed thanks to people like evileagle) probably over 600whp. I'm not quite sure what...
  9. Alternator Brace

Yeah that stupid bolt requires you to take off the water pump pulley. I relocated my alternator and without realizing it was a water pump bolt I left it out, needless to say it started to drip so I put it back in.
  10. port matching

I hope this is a joke. LOLTo original poster: What do you expect to gain from port matching, I've heard varying opinions.
  11. What kind of HP are you guys putting down with your Stock Clutch?

130,000 miles on one stock clutch with drag runs, sounds fishy to me. Are you the original owner, reason I and others ask is that clutches don't last that many miles. (from what I've seen with other cars, haven't done a stock dsm clutch without some abuse.)
  12. Evo3 big 16g question

This is correct, however I would like to see what the Evo3 16g could do at 5-6000ft elevation. It won't be 11's I can tell you that. Even then I wouldn't push it much past 23-24psi on Pump gas 93, but it all depends on your preferences of tuning(less timing and more boost could achieve higher...
  13. 500hp turbo under $1000?

I just bought an SCM6152sp for $680, The site I ordered from just raised the price to $700 though. This turbo can easily reach that on Race gas or meth Inj. with other supporting mods. I don't know if there's any turbos that can do 500whp on pump gas(2.0L). A well tuned 50 trim or anything...
  14. took my car to the track with a 50 trim t3/t4 setup

Time to go buy a bigger turbo and go back to the track.
  15. best year GSX

Hmm, didn't know he hit 9's yet, I'll have to get back to the track. Last thing I heard he was on the verge of 9's with a [email protected]. Only real apparent issue I can see between FWD and AWD for the track is traction. It's not only harder to get traction with a FWD, but when you get...
  16. Dremel Head for Intake Manifold Port Job

Sears, Homedepot, Lowes, Walmart, sometimes places like Pep Boys. That should give you enough places to find them.
  17. Dremel Head for Intake Manifold Port Job

More serious porting without a large air compressor would be best done with something like this: http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=44141But for this little bit of porting a little wait with the dremel should be fine. Any of their harder grinding stones...
  18. how much hp will i get with an mafs

Hmm, ignorance is the answer. This site won't take kindly to that. But to try and answer this. If you got a MAF-T, and were able to tune it, where as before you couldn't then I could see 5-10hp. Only if you had no tuning capability before and are able to tune with the translator.
  19. Midrange Timing=Faster spool(time based)

I've seen this topic arise before. Midrange torque increasing from timing=faster spool of large turbos. My belief on this topic has always been, yes increasing timing in lower rpm's before boost comes on makes the car faster, and makes the car spool faster (time based, not rpm based)Now...
  20. A simple question about gauges

Did you even read the post?I would suggest an Oil Pressure gauge, the stock one isn't accurate to say the least. Oh and you'll like the logging of a/f, egt, and boost(if you get the map sensor) with the zeitronix.
  21. Eprom chip type?

Yeah it all fit under the cover, I will try and send the email in several batches later. It was returned to me because it was too large.
  22. Non-rice Carbon Wing check it out!

If you have a track car that needs downforce to hold it to the track, not necessarily for accelerating traction but for turning traction at high speeds. Then and only then will I respect any "Wing" .Other then that I will personally point and laugh. It's actually costing gas mileage to...
  23. Eprom chip type?

I used a D2 DIP soldered onto the board with a S2 ZIF plugged into it.Morpherex: How do you like tunerpro? What is the expandability as far as fuel/timing maps above 8K rpm? How about MAF's does anyone have EVO mas files yet?
  24. Eprom chip type?

Moates.net is where I pick up my stuff. Here's a post that should help. http://tampabay.dsm.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=13476&highlight=tuning
  25. worried about exhaust gas temp at manifold collector.

I wouldn't go out and buy them for this application because of that. It was foolish to think that since they came with the heatshield I would be fine. I don't want to get too off topic in this thread, but do you have any suggestions on replacement bolts other then from satan?
  26. worried about exhaust gas temp at manifold collector.

Do these bolts go in by hand nice and smooth then seize after heat cycles, or is it a pain to get them in, in the first place?I recently bolted down a JM Fab heat shield using the Stainless bolts, even with the added protection of copper anti seize it's frozen one within under 3K miles. All...
  27. Ipod for data logger?

If you try it, please share how you did it and how well it worked. You could do a Tech write up on it, if you're willing.
  28. No door sticker! Date of Manu.

Grave digging. BTW per the thread I don't believe carfax will tell you the specific build date, just a year.
  29. Slower after turbonetics turbo installed?

Simple you can only achive so much power from the stock fuel system. You should beable to achieve the same power out of this new turbo as you would have from the stock turbo. However this power won't come on until later in the rpm range, which makes you slower. Throw some more fuel at it and...
  30. f'ed up my car... help

So how long did you run this car without a water pump? BTW your gauge showing your Temp. isn't an accurate way of showing how hot the engine is getting, when the water is not moving. If you waited till the water got so hot to show you overheating on the gauge with no water movement, the engine...
  31. Need major Help Please

Timing being off, probably means bent valves. I've had a cam lock up on me after a head rebuild (The head shop messed up) Put each piston half way up in the bore, then with the timing belt off make sure both cams spin freely.
  32. Need major Help Please

I must be out of the "Loop" Wiggle the Rods? I must say that's a new bearing check to me. Please post supporting information as to that being an accurate way of assessing a spun rod bearing. And please to the original poster, Pulling the valve cover will not in any way show jumped timing...
  33. Need major Help Please

I agree check the timing. To :SRT This: There's a report post to Moderators button, If you see a problem with a post it is appreciated that you use it. Lets all keep order on this site and that can all be handled solely by the Moderators, aside from viewers using the report button.
  34. Placement question

If your worried about air disruption a 45 degree would cause the least amount of the two options.
  35. Placement question

You could try and fit it in there with a 45 degree coupling. Just have to take off as much as possible up to the BOV while still leaving clamping space.
  36. Belt Broke Help, lookin for response tonight

Or better yet find out what snapped the belt. The two forward pulleys being the power steering (upper) and alternator (lower). Power steering doesn't have hardly anything to do with the main belt because it is run on it's own belt off of the water pump, but of course the waterpump is driven off...
  37. Belt Broke Help, lookin for response tonight

It drives the water pump, Don't drive on it.
  38. Fuel Pump Rewire Science..

This mechanic is a moron Voltage matters just as much as amperage. Ie: Your computer actually varies the dead time of the injectors dependent upon voltage. (not amperage)I bet he bashes you for driving an import.
  39. Roll cage in a street car

Everything I've seen on Roll Bar safety has mentioned head impacts with the bars. A properly set up 5 point roll bar would not give access to your head. Might break some ribs on the door bar though(not generally life threatening). I haven't seen any mention on what the added strengthening does...
  40. Turbo question(ball bearing vs journal bearing)

I was unaware there were differences in the wheels themselves. If you would enlighten me a little more, if you have time either on here or by PM that would be appreciated. To O/P the Journal bearing will do just fine for drag racing on a budget, however without the use of NLTS the BB...
  41. Power steering banjo bolt info needed!!

JNZTuning can get anything down to the single bolt, you just have to call them.
  42. Getting new rear control arms...junkyard or new?

No personal experience with those. When I read some threads where people were having trouble with those holding the adjustment, I decided to go trouble free with the Ingalls kit.It might not be the product at all, it could have been the users. I didn't want to take the chance with a hassle...
  43. Power steering banjo bolt info needed!!

I've never been to Central America, so I don't know what stores they have there. Online you can get it from: JNZTuning.com
  44. Getting new rear control arms...junkyard or new?

I also suggest Ingalls Rear control arms, very nice piece. Just put them in my car, didn't take long at all.In my opinion it is the best way to fix it.
  45. transmission VS torque?

No more torque, that is only engine modifications. If you are thinking along the lines of how a rear wheel drive car can change gear ratios. Then no it does not have a different output ratio. The AWD tranny might, but I don't think any FWD tranny's have different gear ratios.
  46. axle support

Don't drive it. Use an ez out, or weld a nut onto the broken bolts and wrench the rest out.
  47. AWD trans for FWD 1G Turbo?

Weld the center diff, next to nothing in cost. For those power levels with light/medium drag duty I'd stick with a rebuilt FWD tranny.
  48. Rebuilt motor won't start. If you feel you're intelligent with cars, help me out...

Alright I got things wrong, Sodium filled Exhaust valves were in the Evo. I can't definitively say what differences the turbo and N/A exhaust valves have.
  49. Rebuilt motor won't start. If you feel you're intelligent with cars, help me out...

Oh and the illustration on vfaq, clearly shows a difference in the timing mark location between the two plates.
