Ok, I just bought my car (92 tsi awd) few days ago... it threw a cell the other night and did the whole vaccume leak poopie idle thing and I finally figured out where it's leaking from.Previous owner stripped out the threads in the head where the PCV valve screws into ... right now it's...

All plugs were out and the TB was blocked open.

I'll just drop the pan while the head's off and take a look for myself.

With the engine running and hood open, I can clearly hear it coming from the motor, but because of the internal shape of an engine block, it's hard to tell exactly where it's coming from. I am absolutely positive it is coming from the motor though.I just posted this in case someone had...

I am running synthetic 10w30... I've tryed both with and without additaves. (lucas)After looking at some more logs the engine is both making knocking sounds and pulling timing. Basic stuff is well taken care of....I already said I'm not boost leaking, nor do boost leaks make knocking...

Timing is dead-on. Compression is 160-160-160-160. I'm running 1 step colder plugs right now, and have tryed running 2 step colder plugs with no success. No boost leaks.I'm not seeing knock retard..... mainly because I'm not knocking. :DMy mods are in my profile, and are kept up to date.

Yeah, I was suppossed to get the Hz controller, but didn't realize it untill after the fact and everything was installed. :notgood:A side-note... The TPS does not give a 0-5v signal directly from the source, I had to tap into an ECU connection (same as for an safc.) It gives a 12v+ when 1%...

If your removing your A/C entirely - go ahead and disconnect the lines but be ready to stand back.If your A/C doesn't currently work, and you would like it to - disconnect the compressor anyways, seeing you'll probably need to replace all the seals and O-Rings to keep the new freon(sp?)...

Definately a pain. A combination of removing the drivers wheel and axle (which had to come out anyways) and waiting untill the very last second to remove it from the block (when it was attached to the lift and motor mounts were off) proved to be very easy. I was able to remove it from the...

You also might have to take into consideration the plate in-between the motor and trans.It's roughly 1/8" thick and from some angles can make it APPEAR that the tranny isn't contacting the engine block properly. This is most noticeable on the underside of the tranny near the front motor...

There are easier ways. But then again look at my avitar. Spool-up time is everything in my world. If I could make a gt45R spool up as quick as my E3 does.... I'd have that strapped to my manifold instead.I know it's tough to reach that mark, but people have done it with fewer mods.I LOVE...

It doesn't work like that GSXeclipse97.... A fuel pump is a safety feature, not a power adder. It allows you to safely turn up boost while still having enough fuel flow to supply your engine with the pressure needed to keep up with the added air.A fuel pump in itself does not make power...

you can max out an evo 3 with a 190 with a bit to spare.

A 255 seems like overkill for an evo3 at 20psi. I'm running a 190 with lots, and lots, more mods and I have zero problems coming up with fuel. It would also eliminate the need for a fuel pressure regulator. Also... you'd be fine with some 550's.... *hint* EVO 560cc injectors swap right in *hint*...

With the chip it's like tuneing a bone stock, already factory well tuned car. Just a little tweaking here and there... add some boost. etc.I've known people who have sold off their SAFC's and loggers after getting chipped because they felt that they didn't need to further the chips tune...

It's all about seat time. If you have a 1g the stock suspension is awsome with the 2g "big brake" upgrade... untill you learn how different suspension tequniques affect different parts of the car. I used to have a non-turbo 2g and I'm thinking some stiffer springs would make it feel alot...

Full boost by 4k sounds like alot of lag on an autoX track. I hit full boost somewhere near 2.5-3k on the track and I'd like to see boost sooner.Unless traction is of major concern I'd thing you might want to switch it up to a smaller turbo. I'm sure your times are going to suffer.
