I would not spray anything over a wet 75 shot. I ran a ZEX kit for years with pills from 35-75 and did not have any ill effects or high speed disassemblies.I doubt it blew up a cast aluminum intake manifold, but it did probably hurt the motor.MB suggested a window switch, which is a good...
That's a fully gutted race car which makes it an apples to oranges comparison. If you want to let the world know about his build, start a thread. If you want to promote a specific turbo that you don't even run, make a thread. Jeez.Great job, Dave! :rocks:
I would not feed these turbos from the head and expect a long life from them. I'm pretty sure the 15-25psi available from there is way too little. I ran mine from the OFH with no balance shafts with a -4an feed, a .075 restrictor, and an earls inline filter. I was also running a -10 return and...
I ran the internal gate on my HX with the BEP housing and it didn't like anything under 24psi. So with that said go external and bolton. You can hit that 501 without a doubt (hopefully you have the 60mm).
Alot of tractor trailer drivers use this trick. I saw it at an road stop gas station one time. The tire was loose around the rim, they proceeded to spray a ton of ether in it, then hit it with a lighter. The "boom" from it was nuts. As soon as it expanded the other toothless wonder shot it with...
Understandable. I hate I sold mine. I just refuse to lose AC on my car or I'd have a 52. As bad as I hate to say it I'm going to run either a divided 6262 from Ron or a divided s366.
HKS 272 < FP2 < FP2XThe 2x is the most aggressive of the three. My brother still runs these and they are kickass. He has them on a 50trim setup.I went from the FP2s to the 4Rs. I'm ready to finish my build. ;) AFAIK, FP doesn't make the 2X grind anymore.
Those guys are pretty knowledgeable. They about fell out of their chairs when I walked in there one day talking about an HX40 then pointed out in the parking lot to tell them what it was going on. Good bunch of guys.
Gotta love it. I wish I would've kept my HX40 setup, but I was in a financial bind and needed money for tuition.Hurry up. I'm waiting on you to get some numbers before I make a turbo purchase. I'm stuck between topmount and bottom mount right now. I'd really like to retain the stock exit...
FWIW, I put about 500 miles on my HX setup using the FP blue drain tube and the FP journal bearing restrictor/filter and never had oiling or smoking issue.I'm also changing my setup if anyone wants a super low mileage HX40 Pro with the .55 BEP bolton housing. I also have a brand new .70 AR...
I run it on my semi-daily 2G. I've tried it with the bolton HX40 and soon to be the T3 hotside.DSMLink makes running the throttle body pretty dang easy.
I welded a 90* elbow to the compressor cover. I used the silicone coupler over the vband hump for a while but right around 28psi it would burst couplers or blow off. Eff that.I've had no problem with the welded elbow and it makes the IC pipe situation a little better.EDIT: speaking of which...
Kev, I'm serious about wanting a downpipe. ;)Also, hurry up and get that beast ready to go. I'm interested in the spoolup characterisitics and airflow.
My car slung number one out the back of the block last summer around 450hp on my HX40 setup. I began building an end-all 2.0 long rod which just spit the thrust bearing into the oilpan after 30 minutes of idle tuning. Luckily, my machine shop is eating the cost. I pulled it today. Definitely a...
I have a stock 98 GS and I'm looking to upgrade when I replace my clutch later on. Which manufacturer do you suggest? I need something that wont damage any of my other stock drivetrain parts. I've been directed towards ACT, but I'd like some feedback. Thanks.
