Thank you, my dash is out right now so since none of that is for anything other than info I might just remove. I was only afraid the dash wires were tied into tue ecu somewhere, you made me feel much better thank you! I might have to dm you from time to time if you don't mind.
Dusty. In your experience are any of the dash cluster wires needed to run the ecu? Since the haltech has its own display I was going to remove the stock wiring, but now that I'm knee deep into it I'm starting to get nervous (thankfully I have a spare dash in case I do too much damage...)If the...
Dusty, thank you! This is a 1999 model which is turning into a nightmare. You seem to be the man when it comes to wiring, can you point me I'm the right direction as to where I can find this information so I don't need to post every connector which gives me an issue? The search is not working...
Hi, I'm in the process of "ruining" my oem harness and replacing it with an ohm racing harness. My ecu will be a haltech with the ic7 dash, so my stock gauges are being removed. I have been depinning and removing wires I do not need.I am stuck with this wire though, it runs from the back of...
Thanks guys, I usually get a response in a few days.Bobby, I reached out to haltech - they said the ECU can definitely be set up to run the starter directly, so it looks like OHM has it like that. Fingers crossed....The only complaint I have with the harness right now is the labels and...
Hello All,
It's been over a year since I came on here - my DSM let me down once again and I needed a break. Well, I'm back at it and I'm struggling with the wiring of my OHM racing harness. I reached out the company, but they never replied, so I hope someone on here can help me out.I ordered...
You are going to want to get dsmlink. You need a wideband air fuel ratio gauge and wire it into your vehicle so dsmlink can read it. Afr gauges themselves may be considered "usless" but they are extremely important when logging engine information. If your injectors have blue tops, most likely...
Fuel and engine management are what you need... That 16g will require more fuel than the stock 450cc's once boost is turned up. Plus you need a way to monitor the air fuel ratios, don't blindly start cranking up boost pressure. Before you do we need to know...What injectors?
What ecu?
Do you...
I do with my s2000. I supercharged it, and the kit came with a grams pump. I installed it and drove it to the tuner a few days later. While on the dyno it failed. Brand new pump... over heated and I was stranded 3 hours away. I ran to a local speed shop and picked up a walboro pump which didn't...
There is no clutch cable on our cars, it's a hydraulic system with a clutch line. First thing is to check the clutch fluid. If it's dry, add fluid and bleed the system. Then you will need to check for leaks.
This is so upsetting. He did great work, and provided a great service to the DSM community for many years. I am proud to still be running one of his throttlebodys.
I have not seen many posts about this topic, last one being in 2017! So here is my question,I am in the process of swapping over to a Haltech ECU with DBW, and since Ive been waiting so long for my wiring harness to come in I'm looking to put some money elsewhere. I have been running a JMF...
I was speaking with my cousin, who sold her 1997 Silver Auto GSX in November of 2020. The vehicle was sold in Westchester NY, and we believe it was taken to CT. If anyone on here purchased this vehicle we would love to see the progress/mods of this car. She misses it, and wishes she never sold...
Ok, today was the big day. I just plunked down $2,100 on my Ohm-racing harness. I am not going to lie I am a bit nervous about this purchase, but I hope it turns out to be well worth the money. I will keep you all posted, as several others have been curious about this harness as well. I was told...
This week I spent some time trying to figure out my intermediate shaft rebuild, as I found the bearing to be in rough shape (notchy and leaking grease). I searched all over, all while getting mixed information in return. I did however come across ed1380's post regarding his rebuild which I found...
wow man I am SHOCKED you got your parts from NDD. I got burnt on my subframe from them last year! Looking forward to seeing some additional pics of the parts I could not get from those crooks! Car is looking great btw
Now with the engine in order it was time to pull the trigger on a new clutch setup. I've always ran the same setup in my car ever since I could remember... ACT 2600 PP, with sprung 6 puck and OEM TOB. Well, I have also always had issues with main bearing failure, so it was time to try something...
Before putting the newly rebuild transmission in I needed to make a decision on what to do with my damaged main bearings. Many said, "f-it, just throw new bearings in and send it", however that is not my style. I purchased yet another Manley turbo-tuff crank, new mains/rod bearings and a new oil...
I always run a act 2600 pressure plate spring 6 puck and an extended slave cly rod, which might be a main cause of my issues.Hp was at 565whp, close to 30 lbs of boost give or take.Engine block was manley h beam plus rods, turbo tuff 88mm crank and manley 8:5:1 pistons with clevite 77...
Back around 2003, I ruined my 1998 4g63 block which was in my 98 gsx. At the time I sent it to slowboy racing to get rebuilt, and sent back. Well it took me 20 years but I finally ran the vin number on the block which appears to be a 1995... Now I cannot blame slowboy, my engine was used as a...
I'm 73 years old, purchased my first dsm in 2004, and joined dsmtuners around 2005. Since then I owned three 2g's.Did I say 73? I meant 37, sorry typo haha
Jon at TRE always impresses me with his hard work. As noted before Jon rebuilt my transmission easily 10 years ago without issue. After finding some brass in my oil (trans shifted fine still) I decided to ship it back to him for a once over...Well I finally got it back and it looks amazing...
Thanks for the feedback guys... my stock harness worked soo well for me, I took it all apart, tucked it and removed everything I wasn't using with dmslink. Unfortunately i removed wayyyy too much for haltech, especially if I'm going to go dbw. I'll keep everyone posted after I make my order next...
Started pulling things apart this week. First thing to go were the oem dash gauges as well as my AEM uego pillar gauges.I replaced the stock cluster with a Haltech IC7 digital dash with mako mount. I am seriously impressed with the quality if the mount, as good as factory fitment.
I am in the middle of swapping from dsmlink to a haltech ecu in my 2g. My stock harness has been cut up and altered so many times I am thinking about purchasing an ohm racing harness. They look like they are on the ball with options etc. However their communication has not been too good via...
Well decided to make a huge change and switch over to a Haltech ecu with drive by wire. As my car is down due to the engine damage, I'm going to start on this conversion. Shout out to evospec performance for making this very cool evo-x dbw pedal adapter for a 2g DSM. I will be doing a full write...
Your down pipe may fit depending on what o2 elbow was on the purple turbo (v-band, vs 2 bolt flange). If it does not bolt up, any stock replacement down pipe should fit your "new" Mitsubishi setup. I say should because the Evo3 o2 housing has a slightly different angle to it over a stock dsm...
I'm going to be curious how this turns out - please post the results. If an issue is found by ecmtuning I would like to send my buddys ECU out as well. Looking forward to the results.
I'm so over this. I spent a good $3,000 on this car this past week - Sent my transmission to TRE for a fresh rebuild (adding a billet bearing plate and magnus shift levers to top it off), purchased a Haltech 1500 Ecu, and now this...As I have reported my car has been stalling when the clutch...
Justin... The board looks fine with no signs of water damage, corrosion or burning... Why would you send this out for repair? Download the patch and it will fix it. This is a common problem that many have faced. Your turning a free fix into something more than it has to be. Steve posted the link...
Thank you for posting this info - I am getting rid of dsmlink, just trying to determine if I am going to go with Haltech or Link G4x... This might be the deciding factor!
I'm extremely interested in doing this conversion. The thought of no IAC or old TPS is something that I would love, however I am still very confused about the wiring into the ecu... can anyone elaborate this process in a "dummy version"?I understand the pedal to the TB wiring, however I do...
Download the patch from ecmlinks website. I chased this problem in my buddy's 97 gsx last year, all checked out perfect. Dsmlink offers a free download able patch that eliminates this code from popping up. Again, this is only when you checked all possible voltage issues etc...
I cannot take this post seriously, I never am negative on here but this is reduculious. Please spend some time in the newbie forum to gain some knowledge of this platform before posting "I want to make 600hp cheaply".I will honestly tell you, 600hp on a budget will not happen.
Ugh, it's been such a long time since I've posted an update to my build, this is mostly our of frustration... My car developed a problem which drove me crazy - press the clutch in, and the car just stalled. I tried everything I could imagine to solve the issue, vac leaks, iac, electrical...
I need to chime in, as I am in the process of installing them on my car right now from a previous buy... They are so much nicer than stock units! Anyone on the fence should really pull the trigger on these. They fit great, are lighter than stock, and adjustable. Thanks Volk for making another...
I don't know who told you 500hp is the limits on pump gas. I run 93 in mine and I make 565whp without any knock. As for the meth I would strongly suggest doing you research on it. It is very inconsistent and one hiccup (low fluid level, pump failure, etc) and you can easily ruin an engine. This...
were on boost - Thank you for the info, i will check out your thread. I do have a spare trans in my garage out of a 98 (ive collected parts over the 15 years or so ive had this car) so that isnt a huge ordeal. My best friend has a 97 16g car. My trans once cleaned up would be perfect for his...
Another winter is here, which means its time to tear down my car for another seasonal build. I was having an issue which required me to drop my transmission, and when draining the fluid it was littered with brass... Which means to me that my 10 year old transmission at least needs to be looked...
