Finished my build a while ago and have these parts leftover. Build changed and I bought several parts that I never ended up using. Mileage is accurate within 100 miles. Everything is OBO, but lowballers will be ignored.Pictures:

Made this into a google document to quickly roll out updates. Thanks for all the feedback so far.https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1C9aq4KxiLlG4RTph9UZ1HBTcuIXgL7JhlpOD8v8CWWo/edit?usp=sharing
I created this guide for my 6 Bolt in a 2G swap. I spent many hours putting it together and updated with everything I could find. I know it's not perfect, so please me know if you have any comments or suggestions so I can update my spreadsheet. Be sure to label all hoses and connections.
DSM is down due to needing to get STAR tested. Tried getting a temporary registration number from the DMV, but they don't give those out anymore. Instead they gave me 2 slips valid for only one day each. One for driving to the smog and the other for driving it back. :notgood: Hit me up if...
For a timing belt job, you should just need a timing belt and balance shaft belt (if you still have your balance shafts)Don't forget to replace the idler pully, tensioner, tensioner pully, and balancer pully (if applicable). stubull05 is correct and you should replace the water pump too...
For those who are interested, PM me your email address and I'll send you the guide I created. I have positive feedback so far, but the more comments I have the better.
You should start a new thread so as to not get it confused with our normal monthly meets (which is this thread). I'll be out of town for this month's meet, but I might be available on the 13th for the BBQ.
I made a pretty comprehensive Engine Removal and Engine Assembly/Installation checklist complete with Part Numbers, Torque specs, and personal comments when I did my 2G 6 bolt swap. I even included links to some how to guides on the forums and manual references for certain tasks. PM me your...
It's not a video, but I used this guide when I rebuilt my engine.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/cylinder-head-short-block/345729-how-rebuild-your-6-bolt-front-case.html
I used one of these below and an NPT to AN Adapter for my remote oil pressure sender. I don't have an oil temp, so I don't know if you need a different adapter or no adapter.Lancer EVO 1/8" NPT Oil Temp Adaptor
Just though I'd throw more fuel to the fire and say that removing a clogged or bad functioning EGR system would give the illusion that removing the EGR increases performance.
Agree 100%. Manufacturers want to save as much money as they can, but they have to meet certain government standards. They wouldn't install a part that costs them money so the consumer could have some savings by choice.
Correct. The main reason why we have EGR is for emissions purposes. The theoretical fuel savings is a side effect of the process. In my internet searches I found more stuff/theories on how the EGR improves fuel economy than not. But we all know how accurate things are online. For me, it's...
My car is my daily driver, so I kept my EGR for the sole purpose of better gas mileage. For me, better mpg is worth more than a dirty IM and addional sources for a "potential" boost leak. If it was a weekend car or race car, I'd eliminate the EGR.
You only need 2. If you order from JNZ, they sell them in pairs. If you order from the stealership, they sell them individually. I don't know about STM as I went through JNZ. They were cheap (.39/pair) so I ordered extra. I think I was quoted almost $1 at the stealership for just 1 washer.
I had the same problem where it was leaking through the turbo oil return line bolt holes (on the oil pan side) and I didn't realize that there were crush washers when I took the old return line off. The return line kit I got only came with lock washers. Here are the options I found:

Does your 3rd brake light on the spoiler work? Do you see any evidence of the 3rd brake light being inside the hatch? The high rise spoiler does not have a 3rd brake light in it and so it was located inside the hatch.
I'm having a similar issue. When I first got the car, I had bad engine mounts. I bought brand new OEM front and rear mounts from the dealer and installed Energy Suspension front and rear motor mount inserts.I'm now upgrading to the Prothane motor mount kit. I got the transmission and...
Come to our next meet in Milpitas. We'll show you what to do and you can talk to a lot of knowledgable guys.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/norcal-region-dsm/383066-milpitas-every-2nd-sat-month-dsm-meet.html
I like extremepsi, but most vendors carry themI forgot about the throttle body shaft seals. You can perform a boost leak test to see if you have any leaks in the TB. That way you will know what you need to replace, but I would replace them anyway since they're not expensive.EXTREME PSI...
Yes you will need to replace 2 TB gaskets when you remove the throttle body. I would also replace the BISS screw O-ring as it can be difficult to remove with the throttle body installed (remember to adjust it when reinstalling). Now is also a good time to decide if you want to install a FIAV...
Anyone with a 2Gb bumper have the bracket that screws into the front bumper? I have a 2Ga bracket, but it won't work for me since it attaches to the underside of the crash beam and I have a FMIC.Friend got pulled over for no front license plate. I don't want to take any chances so I want...
Are you talking about the Dejon Super SMIC? If so, this site has it at an insane price.Dejontool SUPER BIG Side Mount Intercooler : Mitsubishi Eclipse / Eagle Talon Turbo 1995-1999I just upgraded to a FMIC and am going to put mine up for sale soon. I also have RRE upper IC piping and...
Sounds similar to my build. I have no problems so far, but I only have 2k miles on the engine. I don't see why you shouldn't do it, just make sure you don't cut any corners and take it to a reputable machine shop.
We're you able to figure out your high oil pressure issue? I am having the same problem with my new engine (50 miles). 1k Idle I'm at around 35psi, cruising is at 90psi. It actually holds at 90psi from 3k-5.5k, so the porting job I did on the OFH seems to be working somewhat. Not sure what...

Junkyard is a good place, but be sure to bring a bag and pen to write down where they came from. Purchasing all the bolts like I did was pricey, but that's what I had to pay since I wanted all new bolts for my new engine.
I suggest downloading the CAPs program and selecting all the bolts that you need. I did just that with my 6 bolt build. PM me your email and I can send you my parts spreadsheet I created if you'd like. It has everything needed for a complete long block build. Just know that I made it for a 6...
I was pretty sure it was the ignition cables when I initially responded, now I'm almost sure. If you did not make any recent changes to your car, then it's your cables. Other symptoms of bad cables would be stuttering at high RPM and stuttering whenever you floor it (even at low RPMs). I once...
If the turbo was not ported properly, you will definitely creep to 25psi and hit fuel cut.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-turbo-system-intercooler/186525-how-cure-boost-creep-porting.html

I just bought the 1G bolt from ExtremePSI and it does not look like the picture. The head tapers out (not 90* as pictured or like how most bolts are) so a crush washer would not work. You'd have to use thread sealant. Can't comment on the effectivity or if it leaks since it's not installed...
That does not look bad. These ECUs come with conformal coating from the factory to help prevent rust. It appears that the coating is doing its job. Since most of those pins are on the same trace, you should be fine, but there is some discoloration above the trace next to the top left. I...
I have a BNIB set of 2G mudguards PN AEC7YG1B02. I purchased them several years ago for my 2Gb conversion and decided to not use them. PM me if interested.
I heard there were a few car meets (non DSM) that got disrupted by cops at the Milpitas In-N-Out. The Foster Freeze meets have been the most consistent and safest meets I've been to.
