You'll definately want to hone when running chrome rings. You don't have to go crazy and open the bore with the honing, just enough to put a good crosshatch on the cyl. You KNOW that honing will be benificial where as not doing so may not seal the rings. Why risk it by not honing?

What is the motor vibration like(intensity) and at what rpm? I bought a 91 GSX back in July or so and it had lots of problems. The exhaust cam was off by 2 teeth(it actually ran pretty decent) and the rear balance shaft was almost 180deg off. Also the exhaust was a hackjob with out a flex tube...
That one is basically a resonater. It is straight through with some packing on the outer part like a straight through muffler. I bought one and its not a true catalytic converter.
Then why port so that the arm can achieve a full 90 deg if the wastegate can't travel that much? In my search i found countless posts and pic's about doing this, but nothing about the wastegate not having enough travel.
Is there a different wastegate option?
I'm doing some porting on a 16G turbo that i'm about to install on my 91 Eclipse. I've ported the housing behind the wastegate flapper so that it can achieve a full 90deg.
The problem that i see is that the stk wastegate does not have enough travel to allow the flapper to go much past 45deg...
