Im thinking of organizing a meet in or near the Raleigh area. How many of you would be interested in that? Is it too far for you Fayettville and Charlotte guys to make?
I would also like to see pictures of the 240 you did in black, since black is about the hardest color to paint and make look good. The one thing I dont understand is if there is no clear coat then what protects the paint?
I believe you, I just cant believe it! Looks like you need to do a "How To" in the tech section for this. The "smurf" blue isnt my favorite color, but looking at the pics the paint job itself looks great.
If you had beer I would even make it out there! lol!But seriously, the front bumper is cake once you figure it out. You have to get under the car and take the 4 bolts holding the front bumper support to the chasis. Theres 2 on each side. Then you got the obvious ones under the hood and I...
At first I did, but I used washers as spacers on the two side mounting tabs. I just added more until I got the depth I was looking for. Does that make any sense?
I have only been able to get the open side of a 12mm combo on it. The problem is I am at that one point where the wrench wont go on it no matter what way you flip it.Im to the point where Im ready to take the pipe off and beat a dent in it! lol!
Man I have tried every wrench I own, I got em all! I can hardly get half a turn on it but I have to back it up half a turn to get the damn wrench off!!!
So redturbo, you have the same fmic kit with the same piping and you did not have a problem tightning that bolt?I have tried every relevent tool I have. From gear wrenches to line wrenches and everything in between. I can get a small craftsmen 12mm regular style wrench on it and get about 1...
Thats exactly what it had on it when I got it! Whats really crazy is my friends gst is got the same 4 bolts and his is all stock:confused: I guess it had an uicp on it before he got it.Well I actually found a set of oem studs/bolts and swapped it over and Im still having a problem getting...
Exactly, there is no way on earth that electrical wiring is gonna leak air! Do another test, maybe this time have a friend to help you so you can check more than one area at a time, watch the boost gauge etc..Mix up some soapy water in a spray bottle and spray suspicious areas and look for...
Yes, we are talking about the same thing. Anyway, how is it leaking there if you have the intake off the car?? lol! I dont get it. You said you had your boost leak tester directly on the turbo inlet, if thats the case then there is no way you have the intake hooked up and there is no way air can...
Either way, bolts or studs, you have nuts that have to be tightend, just like my bolts, and I cant get a damn wrench or socket or nothing on that lower right one.
So your saying instead of 4 bolts holding the t.b. elbow to the t.b. and the t.b. to the intake, you have 4 studs? I just went out and looked at my friends STOCk 95gst and he has the same configuration I do????
My car came with 4 bolts, not studs w/nuts. I dont know what your talking about as far as that goes. And pardon me for not wanting to read (again) through a million pages of random fmic kits in that thread your talking about. And thanks for the engine bay photo, looks real good except I can...
were those the oem amber ones or the clear ones? and if your worried about light showing around the outside of em you could just cut a lil strip and wrap it around, wright?
So how are people tightning the lower, right (if facing the t.b.) throttle body bolt? The damn elbow turns so sharp and is larger in diameter so I cant get a single tool on that bolt to tighten it all the way. I even tried tightning that one first and rotating the elbow down into position to do...
What is this "plug" thing? The only thing I consider a plug on the maf is the actual wiring harness. Obviously thats not leaking if you got the entire intake off the car. I think you are talking about the breather hose that runs from the left side of the valve cover to the intake pipe. Am I...
No I was refering to the xs power kit that he mentioned up top.But yea, I seen that kit too and thought the same thing. TOO good to be true. Plus the design of the kit doesnt look as good as the xs.
if you tell em your from dsmtuners theyll hook you up. I paid $300 shipped for the kit.and yea, use the email I gave you and shell get back to you as soon as she can.
This is where I have always tapped into, so if thats wrong where should it be?Also, Ive been getting a diff sound from my 1g bov (recirculated) since I installed a fmic. It went from a normal psssshhh, to sounding exactly like a external waste gate on a high boosting race car:confused: but...
<===== how about this hole shot against a TT 350Z? Its actually video footage shot with a camcorder............. yea, I know, its not that great.I vote for Andy too:thumb:
If it was working fine before the afc install, then it HAS to be the rpm signal wire that you spliced into. Tripple check. or better yet, cut it where you spliced it and reconect that wire again.
Ok, I know what your talking about. Ive seen that, I think I would rather have it run under the crossmember than the air hitting a wall and making a u turn. ......But I dont have my car sitting too low either so I dont think it will be a big problem. Im probably gonna sell the T28 and go a lil...
