Theres dozens of threads here that answer your questions. quit being lazy and try searching before posting.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-turbo-system-intercooler/181134-how-build-420a-stage-2-turbo-kit-under-1000-a.htmlthread reported
'Tuner' doesn not imply 4cyl. it can in your head, but that's not the general concensus at all.The truth is that shep isn't the quickest AWD, 4-cylinder, or tuner. although im not sure 1MeanTSI knows this.
Can't we use the existing 11-page thread to discus how to wrap a pipe with a fiberglass ribbon?http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/bolt-tech/9423-header-wrap-merged-3-8-thermal-dei-headers-exhaust.htmlAnd there's these too, if the OP didnt search first. I dont have anything to add that isnt...
I see nothing wrong with the STM fitting aside from it being just as restrictive of an orfice as the factory one.I also dont see a good way to drill and tap the VC. There's not much room to thread in a large fitting. And going larger is the whole reason in the first place. Welding on...
I supposed it really depends on the size of the turbine housing and a handful of other things as well. I'd be really surprised to see 50 psi of backpressure while running 25 psi boost on a 16g with say a 7cm turbine housing. But Ive never measured either, so I could be wrong. I'm pretty sure...
Type "crankwalk" into the search bar at the top of the screen. It's been discussed plenty around here. If you have any questions about it, then it's because you haven't bothered looking for the answers.
Our backpressure is usually a 1:1 with boost - or at least should be close to that. And what justifies $800 for used cams? "Real custom" or not, they are ground using the same cores and on the same machine as any other manufacturer. The only thing different is the grind specs, and that...
Why the hate? Looks like fabulous fabrication and craftsmanship and an overall beautiful build. Even if it's just the gold color you don't like, it should be easy for any real "car guy" to look past that and drool over the rest of it...
It says that because they're referring to the factory 1G j-pipe, which has a nipple for the wastegate accuator. Go ahead and add a nipple to your j-pipe. The walls of the tubing might be too thin to drill and tap, so you might need to weld on a bung.
Regarding quality control; I've seen bent crankshafts from Eagle, Scat, Lunati, and a few others. And I've seen bent and broken camshafts from Comp, Crane, Howards, and a few others. Quality control is NEVER 100% in this industry. Also keep in mind that "bent and broken" can easily happen in...
Sounds like a huge hassle. If it were me, I would have used the Moroso stud kit and fixed the damaged holes with a helicoil kit.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/appearance-interior-exterior/349188-valve-cover-studs.html
If it was going to come out, it would have already happened.
Follow the advice given here and replace the axle and hub. I promise that replacing the two won't take another 4 weeks. :p
I've had several that a oxy torch and a 50-ton press couldn't separate.Time for a new axle and a new hub/wheel bearing. And anti-sieze the crap out of the splines to prevent it from happening again.
High pressure AN stuff is specifically different. The hose ends are steel instead of aluminum, and they asist sealing with a ferule (for non-crimped ends). Also, the hose is teflon lined.
We aren't getting the storms that you guys are getting, but it's been raining here for several days as well. Yesterday, we had mostly clear skies and sunshine - and rain nonetheless.I'm ready for some SUMMER!
I have no idea what that means... But I doubt it's possible.During the install, it does mention "To use CAPS you will need one of the following versions of Microsoft Windows® :Windows 95
Windows 98
Windows 98 SE
Windows ME
Windows 2000
Windows XP"And after installation...
So what's the reasoning behind limiting the overdrive gear based on temp?I've noticed that cruising RPM at a given speed can vary up to 300 RPMs between a cold converter and a warm converter. Is that normal or is it a sign of a converter issue? Also, it sometimes takes the converter a...
1) I notice that I dont have overdrive while driving on a cold start. It usually takes 30-60 seconds before it appears. I know several other vehicles do this as well, so I'm guessing this is normal? If so, what regulates it? Trans fluid temp?2) What are the signs of a failing torque...
Funny you say that.... It took you guys a built engine, 116 octane race fuel, standalone engine management, cams, SMIM, etc. to be in that range on that turbo.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-turbo-system-intercooler/208481-internally-gated-turbos-tested-dyno.html
I planed on rebuilding my trans myself because of the lack of funds and all the time in the world. Here is a little background information on what happend. For the longest time my car would grind to get into second unless i would double clutch it so i thought it was a syncro problem. I drove on...
yeah i am sure it is the turbo, but the thing that i dont really get is that this is the second turbo? granted the turbo on the car hasnt been ran in a year do you think that could have any thing to do with it. Like maybe that one is bad too?
