Stock works perfectly fine if you boost it. Unless the motor is built and your fuel system is up to the task, you aren't going to reach the limits of a stock IM anyway.
Never hurts, but I wouldn't recommend just throwing money at parts hoping to fix the problem unless you know you have blown gaskets/exhaust leaks.Like Tanro recommended, look up how to complete a boost leak test on the car and that can at least rule out some potential causes.
If you want a cheap solution, a GST stock catback was a decent upgrade for NA cars. Otherwise, eBay is probably going to be the next best bet. Definitely stay 2.5" unless you are turbo, will sound like ass and will probably lose some power with the bigger exhaust.
I've had an Aeromotive in the past on my old 1g and it worked good. Have a Fuel Lab setup from STM on my 2g and no issues whatsoever. I recommend Fuel Lab just for the fact STM has a kit with everything you need for install.
It's flashing faster than it should, maybe a wire shorted somewhere? Will need to prod around the wiring and do some testing to find where the problem lies.
I always had issues with my horn working consistently. After putting in my Momo one and wiring up the horn to their button, it works 100x better. I think Mitsu put pretty crappy buttons in the for the horn.
Just throwing it out there (probably not your problem, on a 2g also), but I had a similar issue where if I would take sharp turns at decent speeds (parking lot speeds to 20ish mph) and put some g-forces into the car, it would make a clunking/grinding type noise. Put it up on a lift and noticed...
I always recommend getting an AFPR when getting a 255 or above FP. You can do some searching here if you'd like to see what others say, but it's pretty common knowledge that it's a requirement with a 255 pump. There will always be people who say they don't have one and are running fine, but I...
Welcome to the site. There is a ton of knowledge here so you can find pretty much anything you're looking for.I'd recommend also changing fluids (oil, transmission/transfer case/rear diff, etc.) so you know where you are at with those. Boost leak test the car to be sure no air leaks and fix...
That's the same problem I had. First I tried different drill bits, but none were hard enough and dulled out quickly. I ended up getting some strong bits for my dremel and went to town on it and finally got it after a while.
You can try an ez out, drill and tap, or try to helicoil. Any of the options won't be easy though IMO. I tried to use an ez out on my head to get a broken stud out and it ended up breaking the ez out inside and made the job 10x harder to fix. I'd just try to drill it out and depending on the...
Definitely not, the clutch would be spinning before that would happen.I don't know if I want to push my 16g that hard. I've been in evos with their stock 9 turbos pushing 30+ psi and it's fun, but it's still not like a big turbo feel.
Just running 20psi and no real drop off that I've noticed. Cams are definitely on the list along with e85, but I will need to update the clutch before pushing more power. I don't think much more power can be held on the current one and don't feel like forcing it to slip.
I think I remember that one haha! I just need a little more pull in the upper rpm range, the evoIII spools so fast it feels like the power "flattens" as the revs go higher.
I've never done a 6 bolt swap, nor looked into it, so I am not much help with that.An exhaust leak shouldn't have any bearing with it running like that although a boost leak could contribute to those symptoms. May want to also invest in a boost leak tester for troubleshooting. You can make...
You'll want to switch the SAFC setting back to karman, you aren't doing yourself any favors switching that to the wrong setting. My guess would be a wiring issue somewhere, either with the 6 bolt swap or SAFC. Better get a multimeter and start checking wiring.
Your only options are to reweld the turbo compressor outlet or make something work with couplers and/or piping. That FMIC kit is not designed to bolt up to a t25 turbo.
Constant IE crashes on my work computer from the site. I think it's the square ad on the right bar that is causing it. Happens probably about 5-10 times a day it seems.
As someone who has turbo'ed a few 420a's in the past, at this point in the dsm lifecycle, it's better to start with a GST or GSX if you want to mod one considering the prices on them nowadays. Like everyone has mentioned, the couple grand it will cost to piece together a kit, you will be at...
