All of the bell housing bolts are the same diameter and thread, even the starter bolts. Take a long one that you already have and thread it in LIGHTLY until it bottoms out, and use this measurement as a reference. Bring the bolt you have to a hardware store and match the diameter and thread, and...
So you're saying that the lancer you took those off of was lower than your 1G (assuming the lancer is as heavy as you think)? With just Eibachs and oem struts?I don't think using a different cars strut will change the wheel base. I think that's just the angle of the pic that makes it look...
No, second owner. I bought it off of an elderly man with 68k on it. No mods or wiring had been done. Maybe in my many rebuilds i had rewired it and forgotten, but im not the type to foget something like this. The wire looks oem and has continuity to pin 87.Looks oem meaning its going into...
Just to make my typing easier and clearer-
IPS - external closed throttle position switch / idle position switch
TPS - 3-wire / 4-wire, eventually well find out, but refers to the throttle position switch mounted to the throttle body.Ok. I took my continuity tester and attached it to the...
That really is interesting. What year is that referring to? 1998?If that is the case, then I do not understand which wire I used to have running to the IPS, which was in fact a single wire. DSMLink proved it was the correct wire. The only reason I ran it strait to pin 87 is because the...
The 3-wire TPS I am using is from the 4G64 originally equipped in my car. It is a 98 Spyder GS. Although I am using a 95 turbo ecu, the plug on the harness side also only has 3 wires as the harness is for a 4g64. So my point is that the gs spyders use an external closed throttle position switch...
If its more critical, than why as just a throttle stop?Pull the spade off of your IPS and see how your car runs. Now put it back on and see again.. Why wouldnt I just use the real part, and make the system work as it was intended to?I am using a 3-wire 2G TPS, which has no IPS "built...
1G TB, 2G TPS with the Closed Idle Position switch wire cut, Closed Throttle Position switch wired to the ECU pin for the "built in" one, and a 2G 95 ECU.
I am using a 1G throttle body with a 2G TPS, rewired. If the TPS is off by 1%, the closed idle switch will not operate properly.I ran a wire to the idle switch pin on the ecu, so it will operate independently.I couldn't find any bolts to thread in either. Like snowborder714 mentioned, the...
The closed TPS is needed for idle control and rolling fuel cut.To me, it's important.I saw that Idle Switch Kit, but I am not paying for a new TPS, I don't need it.I'm gonna try the graveyards and see what I can find.
Anyone know where I can get a closed throttle position switch besides the junk yard and the dealership?Mitsubushiparts.com wants $86, which is absolutely absurd for a single ground sensor. This must be including the TPS as well, I'm guessing, but that's what came up for the Mitsubishi Part...
Is it advised to use teflon tape on the top 2 or 3 threads for fuel fittings?I just got my AEM afpr and the fittings it came with are o-ringed. Just from looking at them it doesn't seem like they are 100% trust worthy. They are the brown o-rings, so I know they are for fuel, but they seem...
I lost track of the injector wires and which cylinder they go to..Can someone just take a peak under the hood and tell me which wire colors goto which cylinders? PLEASE!The harness is for a 1998 spyder gs, 4g64.Thanks guys.I will paypal someone 5 bucks to give me the answer to this..
My stock 4g64 with an apex-i n1 put down 113hp and 118 ft/lbs.. the 420a is significantly less to the wheels. What the factory specs state is irrelevant to true numbers.Swap a 4g63 into that like i did. You could even keep your 2.4l block.
I was just getting my oil pan and strainer back into the block, and I realized I needed the gasket for the oil strainer/pickup.Anyone know where I can grab one? I tried locally and no luck.RTV Black??Anyone?
Look for wear on the fork where the TOB sits, or wear where the fork attaches. This will give the fork extra room to move, causing vibrations. When a TOB is bad, IMHO, it makes shifting and clutching VERY DIFFICULT. This difficulty could be from a number of other problems tho, as well.
I thought it would be nice to come back and answer all my own questions that got no response. When I posted this thread back then, this was the N/T section, not 420A section. A 4g64 is a N/T, so there's my reasoning.
Well 3 yrs later here's the answer. It was throwing a random misfire code, and I spoke to someone, I cannot remember who, at Victor Research, and they said that one of the wires on the TPS has to be cut to solve this problem.I'm not 100% positive on the reasoning behind it, but I do...
Those books at Barnes & Noble are addictive. After reading Superchargers, Turbochargers, and Nitrous Oxide, i just can't stop reading. They are well worth the money. Before buying my DSM, I knew basically nothing about cars. 4 years later, I've moved onto Flame Speed and Volumetric Efficiency...
Can someone with CAPS verify that this part number is indeed the correct piece?MR201475-LH -------------> Driver's Side A-Pillar for a SpyderThank you.
Check the clutch release Fork and Throw out Bearing. This just happened to my friends SRT-4 and when we examined the bearing assembly, that was the problem.
My friend picked up a turbo that measured 3ft off the ground. He bought it off EBay before we knew ANYTHING about turbos.. He actually thought he could spool it with a KA24DE.. ROFL
