I have the hahn stage 2 turbo kit on my 97 mits eclipse gs and would like to upgrade from the bov that was included in the kit. i like the sound of the HKS ssqv bov and plan on turning up the boost to around 25 psi within the next year after i rebuild my engine. is there a bov that would be able...
Does anybody know were I can find a 420a turbo header? I have the hahn racecraft stage 2 turbo with the internal wastegate which came with a strong but ugly exhaust manifold, and I would like the smooth flowing, cooler operating, sexy header look instead. Any links or info would be highly...
I would say the 420a a few threads ago has me beat but my setup is no doubtably pretty clean... I wish I could find a 420a polished tubular header though:( If anybody knows where i could purchase one, please private message me. I don't get on here very often at all. Thanks
I have an afc neo which reads airflow aka what the map sensor is putting out. when i had the fuel cut defender it would consistently break way over what a non turbo car's airflow should be. with my fuel cut defender, seems how it is just a valve, it has never broke that limit. it will go to...
they actually include one with the turbo kit package. i tried it and it still threw the code. the missing link is better. am i the only n/t turbo conversion that consistantly has this check engine code that wont go away?
ever since i first turboed my car i haven't been able to get rid of this code. i have had both the hahn racecraft fuel cut defender mod that isnt that reliable, and i currently have the missing link installed, which does not allow my map sensor to read pressure, instead it opens it up to the...
and 91 Turbo Mitsu
(i dont know how to double quote)
but thanks especially to these two dsmtuners they knew just by the symptoms what was wrong. the actuator arm was busted somehow therefore= no booost. switched that out and whad do ya know? im back pedal to the medal boostin like i know and...
to my best understanding hahn turbo kits come with an internal wastegate actuator so i don't know how/if i can even check that. beleive me, i do not think it is any of my intercooler piping i have went over all of that a few times now. i recently installed my new hks bov i think i might want to...
I was taking a few friends for a ride my car was running good pushing 9 lbs boost and we came to a stop at a stop light. I took off in first gear rather slowly until i shifted to 2nd gear and gunned it, pulling quite hard as usual until sometime between 2nd gear around 6500rpm to 3rd gear about...
my car has died multiple times out of nowhere with no noticable cause. most of the time it only happens when it gets hot. but after it had time to cool off it would usually just fire right up. the most recent time i pulled the head to replace a low compression piston, when it was all ready to...
so for everybody who thinks it is HORRIBLE pushing 16 pounds of boost when you break an engine just know that it has been done successfully and maybe you shouldn't be as paranoid about breaking your engine in as long as you don't exceed its limits in any way. (ex. fuel going lean, overreving) if...
dude thats obvious i didnt know i had to clarify that it couldnt be too lean i thought that was a no brainer. thats kind of what i meant by saying how we felt comfortable ### the gages were showing us. i will update my profile once i get a digi camera and the time to take some pics that are...
just fyi, my engine is all tuned now and running great! no we didnt do anything special breaking it in. we just took it easy at first and slowly boosted higher the longer we drove it and felt comfortable what the gages were showing. Our first test drive we drove to a city an hour away and pushed...
good advice thank you. how long should i break it in for and whats an ideal way to do so? do you have any advice to make it idle no lower than around 1200rpm? and lastly, should i get a mass airflow sensor? if so where could i pick one up? yeah everything was put together tits by my mechanic...
my car is finally all rebuilt but it has been throwing like 4 different codes. absolute manifold pressure, 02 sensor not detected, and multiple cylinder missfires. i got big cams so it idles rough sort of like a muscle car i have heard from multiple people. one problem is that i cant get it to...
I bought the hahn stage 2 turbo kit with fmic about 4 months ago. about a month later my engine stuk a ring and i lost all compression. since then i have spent literally 6k in parts alone i just havent had time to sit down and write all my mods down on this website. well anywayz i purchased...
i chose the clutch that i did over the 2 best 2gnt ones south bend clutch offered thank you.
i ran more psi than what hahn recommended becuase thats what any person with any need for speed would do once they put on a turbo. sure its fast but that craving of going faster never goes away. im sure...
i am in the proccess of rebuilding my 97 eclipse 420a n/t engine and i have found that it isnt cheep. ive done tonz of interenet shopping and have found numerous times cheaper parts for 4g63 than 420a. for example a clutch, our cars have modular clutches and a paid 700$ for a clutchmasters stage...
um ok? i had touble with my 26lb/hr injectors running ten psi of boost because it was too rich all the time and even when i turned my fuel regulator down, i still lost about 150+ miles i could get off one tank of gas from stock injectors. how much more gas mileage do i have to lose? changing...
actually the 420a motor doesnt even like 10 psi of boost in my case. and if you would have read above you would know that i am in the proccess of rebuilding my motor. and actually i did spend some time reading up on the megasquirt at megamanual.com but nowhere did i read how much boost it will...
or where i can buy an already put together megasquirt system that has everything i need included for complete installation and functionability? i don't have time to research and build one myself. oh and could the megasquirt supply fuel for up to 28psi boost?
i have a 2gnt 420a with aftermarket turbo kit. i am currently in the middle of rebuilding my motor so i can run higher boost. ive ordered everything from performance cams, cam gears, pistons, rods, motor mounts, bov, short shifter, head gasket, ARP head studs, valves, springs, clutchmasters...
my engine blew up and now its time to rebuild. my engine has already been pulled and it is now time to buy parts. my $ tree is limited to about 3500 right now but that will have to include a high performance clutch.
i mainly just need to know how to supply adequate fuel for that much boost...
i installed my forge manual boost controller tonight. its got me so confused. its crazy ### before i had it my 1st gear would boost max 6psi, 2nd gear 7psi, 3rd about 8, and i once got it up to 9psi in 5th. now that the boost controllers installed, i boost 8-8.5 psi throughout all of my gears...
but to my understanding, hahn and star are practically the same turbo. the hahn turbo i have is capable of 35 psi of boost. im pretty shir ill have far too many speeding tickets by then to ever even think about boostin higher than that. I mean dam thats over 3 times what im boostin now. and p.s...

and since ive heard so much negativity about the safc used on our cars and how it doesnt work as well as on other cars, could somebody please point me in the right direction for precise fuel management in the future that is affordable? wouldnt the safc get the job done tho?
and to bigrand.. ill try my best to show you how hahn manages it. first i had to take out the stock fuel pressure regulater, flip the fitting upside down and cap the old outlet like so: next we ran a braided steel fuel line from the out side of the fuel rail that is originally capped off, to...
k i got a question.. my setup hits 6psi boost in first gear tops, about 7psi goin from 2nd to 3rd, and now that i adjust the actuater arm 1 turn shorter, about 8 psi in 3rd gear. so now im confused man. i want 8 psi at least in 1st and 2nd gears ### that when its the most beneficial. but if i...
just fyi, the kit did include 26 lbs/hr fuel injectors im not sure exactly how much bigger those are than the stock ones. but so you guys are saying i can turn up the boost just to 8 psi entering the engine to be safe? ok im cool with that for the winter til i rebuild my engine and get some $...
its crazy different people opinions on different things. ive heard i could turn up my boost pretty much safely to 12 psi on a stock block at least for racing then run constantly on 10 psi besides that if i had adequate fuel. the main reason i wanna turn up my boost a little is ### i have only...
Q#1:i got my kit and its all installed its pretty quik. my only problem is i cant get the fuel pressure to run higher than 90 psi at high rpms. i am buying a boost controller to turn up the boost to 10 at least until i rebuild my engine and 90 psi fuel pressure is only good for the boost its...
nevermind people i guess im gonna have to go with the haun ### i guess they dont even make stars anymore overboost.com has them but they are like out of business or something* my bad
i have a 97 eclipse gs and i am looking to buy a stage 2 turbo kit i already have about 4k saved up to spend on one and maybe a fuel manager like safc too. i have searched and found threads about this topic but still cant decide which would be best for me. the haun turbo kit is a little more...
just fyi, i recently ordered a fidanza short shifter for my 2g before reading up on how they dont come with stoppers. after i read all these threads about them, i immediatly called back and wanted to cancel my order. so anyways the sales person looked into it and called the fidanza people about...
just fyi, i know this thread is way old but o well.. i recently ordered a fidanza short shifter for my 2g before reading up on how they dont come with stoppers. after i read all these threads about them, i immediatly called back and wanted to cancel my order. so anyways the sales person looked...
i bought my car used with 83k miles on it. i realized not to long ago that i should check if the timing belt had ever been replaced. i called the previous owner and he said no it hadnt. so now my car has 99k miles on it and i have checked prices around here. ive been quoted about the same all...
could i get a link to a website with a decent underdrive pulley for a decent price then ###? and around how much $ do they cost? i guess that'll be my next mod then.
