ECMlink 1G ECMLINK V3 timing help

Adjustable timing lights are not accurate when used with the waste spark ignition system on DSMs. The adjustable timing light must be set to zero and the 5 degree mark on the timing cover is used. This will be difficult to do without a timing cover.

ECMlink My CrankingFuelAdj seems to not be working at all

Without a log it's hard to tell but the only thing I can think of is the lack of a "keystroke" signal. Without this signal, "crankingfueladj" will not work. The "keystroke" signal is 12 volts from starter relay to ECU pin #108 on a 1G or pin # 71 on a 2G only while the engine is cranking...

2G "Limp Mode" Like symptom EDIT: Injector Circuit Malfunction

This sounds like you're getting a P0300 "random misfire" code. Your profile says that this is a 6-bolt swap with ECMLink. Try unchecking the "Cylinder Misfire" box on the Misc tab in ECMLink. With a 6-bolt swap, you have to use a 1G CAS. The 1G CAS is not compatible the 2G ECU's misfire...

1G No Start - No Spark, No Fuel

The ECT light has nothing to do with starting the engine, There are two sensors on the thermostat housing. The 2-wire sensor tells the ECU what the engine temp is. This can affect starting. The 1-wire sensor controls the light. This light will turn on when the key is switched to ON (as a bulb...

1G Is there anyway to test an ECU?

A very basic test of the ECU is to turn the key to ON and observe the check engine light and the factory boost gauge. The check engine light should come on and stay on for around 5 seconds and then turn off. The factory boost gauge should go up to approximately 1/2 scale and stay there. A...

    General Wideband gauge reading backwards

Actually, the wideband does measure fuel too. At any AFR richer than stoich there is no longer any oxygen in the exhaust to measure. Kevin Jewer explains this very well on his website.https://www.sixsigmatuning.com/pages/general-wideband-o2-sensor-infoJim

2G Help Me Diagnose my Charging System Issue

Actually, this is fairly normal for a 2G. The 2G ECU will adjust voltage as needed to keep the battery charged. When the car is first started, the alternator will charge at 14.3 - 14.5 volts to replace the current lost during the engine start. As the battery comes up to full charge, the voltage...

    2G T25 in out play

You would want a dynamic seal. A carbon seal is only needed on a draw-through carburetor set up. I would think that the 360 degree thrust bearing is overkill for the T25. I would stick with the 270 degree thrust bearing.

    1G Timing belt question

Adjustable timing lights are NOT accurate when used with the waste spark ignition system on DSM's. 2G MPI relay bad?

If the engine misfires due to a spark related issue, the wideband will read lean. The unburned oxygen in the exhaust, from the misfire, will cause a lean spike on the wideband. The fact that your Power Transistor is getting hot would be a red flag for me.Jim

    1G The 4g63 headgasket fiasco....

    What do the experts think

FPR overrun only occurs at idle. Some AFPRs are available with replaceable, different sized return orifices (AEM for one). I wouldn't worry too much about overrun unless you are maxing out your fuel trims. No need to postpone your WOT tuning. Just start off with very low boost and keep a sharp...
  40. jim95redgsx

    What do the experts think

Your cruise logs look pretty good. Your fuel trims are good. You're still overrunning your FPR. The fuel pressure only dropping to 35 psi, with the engine running, shows this. It should be dropping to around 29-30 psi, depending on your engine vacuum at idle. For example, if your idle vacuum is...

    What do the experts think

OK, those logs do look good.PTE 1000cc injectors are the same Delphi injectors as FIC 950cc injectors. PTE just rates them at 50 psi base fuel pressure while FIC rates them at 43.5 psi fuel pressure. The fact that you had to lean out your Global and MAFComp to get your fuel trims in line...
  42. jim95redgsx

    What do the experts think

Use 950cc. When FIC selects a matched set of injectors, they could be using Delphi 1000cc injectors that actually flow less than 1000cc. No injector flows exactly what it's rated at. That's why you want a matched set. FIC could also be using that same Delphi 1000cc injector in a matched set of...

    What do the experts think

I just took a quick look a your cruise log in Post #50. I noticed a couple of things that stood out. What do the experts think

It looks like you're on the right track. That idle log looks pretty good. Your fuel trims are good.Don't worry about your ISCPosition bouncing between 28-32. It will change as it tries to adjust idle speed.I'm not really familiar with tuning a GM 3" MAF so I won't comment on your MAFComp...
  46. jim95redgsx

    What do the experts think

OK, that log looks good, at least for your TPS and idle switch. You've got a TPS DTC now. You probably caused this if you unplugged the TPS with the key on. Clear that code on the DTC's tab and see if it comes back.Let the engine fully warm up (at least 190*F) before you try to adjust your...
  47. jim95redgsx

    What do the experts think

You want the TPSVolts to read 0.63 volts at idle, not 0.9 volts.Start a log with the key on/engine off. Floor the gas pedal a couple of times during this log. Loosen the two bolts that hold the TPS. Turn the TPS until TPSVolts read 0.63 and retighten the bolts. The TPS reading will frequently...
  48. jim95redgsx

    What do the experts think

Your idle switch isn't working. It reads a constant "0". Without a working idle switch, the ECU will not try to adjust idle speed with ISCPosition or timing. To adjust the idle switch, read this thread...
