  1. Magnus Sheetmetal IM VS 1G Extrude Honed

How much of difference does Extrude Honed exhaust and intake make vs a regular port job for intake and exhaust? Is it with the $275 difference between porting?

  5. FIPK or Adpater w/ K&N?

Here is my dilemma, I am looking for a street machine, not a track monster. I wanna get above 300HP with a nice quick spooling turbo. However, first things first and that means, the supporting cast. I've got my Boost Gauge, MBC, GReddy BOV, Magnecor Wires, and NGK plugs. Intake is next...

  7. Sylvania Silverstar Headlights...

Anyone put the Sylvania Silverstar replacement headlights in?? I was thinking about swapping mine out for the silverstars. 9005 for high and 9006 for low, correct.
  8. IPT Solenoid kit? isnt there a IPT rep in here?

You learn something new every day. I thought these were just OEM replacements... :thumb:
  9. Anyone change out the A/T solenoid?

Basically what is involved with a solenid swap is that you have to remove the valve body from the trans, unbolt the solenoids and then find where the harness is seated in the transmission on the outside. You will have to unhook it and then feed it through the pan area to fully remove...
  10. warning: its just a matter of time

Yeah, if you want it done right, IPT can help you. I have no doubt in my mind that John will find out what is wrong. I would first try to get another TCU to try before you go ripping the transmission out. I have a Q, what did Dean and the rest of the tranny people say who you sent your...
  11. transmission vacuum lines

WTFI hate to tell you this but those aren't vacuum lines, dood; that's the transmission coolant lines. DO NOT remove those and cap them off.
  12. Can I use this tranny...

100% of the parts are not compatible...
  13. Can I use this tranny...

As far as the internals go, I think 90% of parts are transferable, however it would be like taking piston rings and bearings out of an engine to rebuild another one. Get yourself a rebuild kit and go from there or send your tranny out to IPT. They are probably the best import transmission...
  14. Getting better low-end and launches with a A/T

Lubegard is the way to go for modifying the friction content of the fluid. I am sure that Lucas stuff is good, but the Lubegard is what IPT recommends.
  15. Getting better low-end and launches with a A/T

I hope you have a restalled or a high stall TC or your front clutch pack is getting shredded....
  16. fp3052, should i do this or that..or this or that

Whatever the weakest spring on the Tial 44mm wastegate is.
  17. Overfilled Tranny....

Which seals blow out first? I have no idea. Transdude is the person to ask. Why not give him a call at 1 866 82 TRANS.
  18. Getting better low-end and launches with a A/T

    Ass-kisser.. ;) I do agree however.. :thumb:
  19. Overfilled Tranny....

From what I have heard from people who have filled thier transmissions too far, the stick pops out first spewing fluid all over the place. Path of least resistence when pressure is too high (too much fluid). It can also blow out your transmission seals if I am not mistaken.
  20. fp3052, should i do this or that..or this or that

20psi by 3600 is what they are saying with the FP3052. I have it as well as John's restalled stock TC. On my 16G, I was able to build 22psi on the line by 3500 rpms. I don't think you will have a problem getting full boost with the FP3052 off the line but I will confirm that in the Spring.
  21. Need to rebuild my 2GFWD trans to hold HIGH HP. IPT ,LEVEL 10,or ALTO overhaul kit?

98TalonTsi is running the IPT race trans and I will be as well come the Spring. NO ONE is better with import transmissions than John over at IPT!
  22. went 12.58 @107.00 today!

He used to own an AT Turbo DSM so I give him shit about jumping ship.. ;)
  23. went 12.58 @107.00 today!

Go back to your SyTy sites, toolbox!! :D
  24. Man do I love getting ####ed over.

$27 and change is not 'fukked over'. Consider yourself lucky indeed...
  25. went 12.58 @107.00 today!

This thread sucks!! In any event, once everyone stops the #### jousting, maybe we can discuss how Awoler can get into the 11's with his setup. This is why I rarely read DSMTuners anymore. So much crap and BS instead of talking about DSM's regardless if they are auto or mt.
  26. Check This Out!!

  27. Max HP on fully built trans?

Each transmission vendor is going to have a different 'built' transmission. IPT for instance had thier transmission go 9.7 @ 139 which is probably close to 600hp at the wheels if not more. I am sure Transdude will comment.
  28. Are 1g/2g turbo TCU's Compatible

I am not 100% sure but I don't think they are for these 2 reasons...1) OBD1 vs OBD2... The pin outs are going to be different to the ECU even if they plug in the same.2) 2G's have a locking TC where the 1G's do not.
  29. Torque convertor and things of that matter

The biggest ET saving feature of the restalled TC or aftermarket TC is being able to stall higher at the line and take those 60' down tremendously. With that being said, get rid of that stocker once you get rid of your T25. Speak with John over at IPT (who also sponsors this site) about his...
  30. I cant register on atdsm.com?

We did have an issue with registration but AFAIK, it was fixed. Before the problems, Bob Friend was the last one to join, since then, we've have people join every day so far, even today, the 14th of January so, PM me or IM me if anyone is having problems getting registered on the site! :thumb:
  31. V-cuppler for AWD

Viscous Coupler, not that I know of. Your best bet for stronger center differential is to get a welded one. I believe all the aftermarket center diff's are for MT's only.
  32. BCS Helped Launch

Be careful, any higher and you are digging into the front clutch pack if you are still on the stock TC. The brakes might be able to keep you from moving, but the stock stall speed is typically hovering closely around 3000 rpms.
  33. DSM Link or AEM

DSMLink gives you the power of a stand alone with the ease and useability of a piggyback. It is by no means a piggyback, but the user interface is very easy to use. For the price, and the fact that you don't need a separate device to control the AT, I would go with DSMLink for certain!
  34. Down to 3 Turbos Need help

Anyone who is serious about making power in thier car in the top end is not going to be sticking with a T28 for very long. Don't get me wrong, it's a great turbo and makes excellent low end power and good mid range power, but it's top end sucks. The first issue is the actuator which will...
  35. Swapping an A/T into my Race Car?

To anyone who is searching for the right trans for making an AT fast, it just doesn't get any better than IPT. As John stated earlier, two of his transmissions are in the 9's. This coming spring, he should have two more in the 11's ;)There are a lot of hacks out there who claim to build a...
  36. Highest HP A/T DSM, 1/4 mi. Times?

I'd be glad to host the Fastest AT times on ATDSM.com. I will PM you, Russ with details..Speaking of AT goals, I hope to be in the 11s in the spring as well..
  37. ? for anyone with a SBR Exhaust Mani.

Another plus, straight from the mouth of Mike Huml, the thicker flange DOES NOT require longer manifold studs on SBR's cast manifold... :thumb:
  38. Clicking noise.

As 98TalonTsi said, drop the pan and see if there is anything funny going on in there.. There are 2 electical solenoids in there and if they are no properly grounded, who knows what can happen... Start with what is easiest for you to diagnose and work from there...Head over to...
  39. Forced Performance Cams

Supposidly, FP is going to release FP3 and FP4 cams which will require upgraded valvetrain parts... I don't think it's published on thier site, but I read it from someone on the DSMLink forums..
  40. SBR 2g intercooler kits.

There is a radiator support that needs to be cut out..
  41. SBR 2g intercooler kits.

I bought it with a bigger turbo in mind in the future... ;)
  42. SBR 2g intercooler kits.

I bought the core and had piping made for me... This is the baddest core out there, IMO.. 24x12x3.5. I am running a 16G @ 22psi and am moving to an FP3052 @ 22psi but it will not matter from a cooling standpoint with this core.. :thumb:
  43. Max HP on Auto with Shift kit and end clutch?

The English is not strong with that one... ;)
  44. DSM injectors peak and hold or saturated?

I'm simply saying for people who are injector shopping and don't want to get that in depth about what to buy, telling them they are not Peak&Hold injectors when every DSM dealer around is claiming they are, it gets a bit confusing, you know?
