How much of difference does Extrude Honed exhaust and intake make vs a regular port job for intake and exhaust? Is it with the $275 difference between porting?

Here is my dilemma, I am looking for a street machine, not a track monster. I wanna get above 300HP with a nice quick spooling turbo. However, first things first and that means, the supporting cast. I've got my Boost Gauge, MBC, GReddy BOV, Magnecor Wires, and NGK plugs. Intake is next...

Anyone put the Sylvania Silverstar replacement headlights in?? I was thinking about swapping mine out for the silverstars. 9005 for high and 9006 for low, correct.
Basically what is involved with a solenid swap is that you have to remove the valve body from the trans, unbolt the solenoids and then find where the harness is seated in the transmission on the outside. You will have to unhook it and then feed it through the pan area to fully remove...
Yeah, if you want it done right, IPT can help you. I have no doubt in my mind that John will find out what is wrong. I would first try to get another TCU to try before you go ripping the transmission out. I have a Q, what did Dean and the rest of the tranny people say who you sent your...
As far as the internals go, I think 90% of parts are transferable, however it would be like taking piston rings and bearings out of an engine to rebuild another one. Get yourself a rebuild kit and go from there or send your tranny out to IPT. They are probably the best import transmission...
Lubegard is the way to go for modifying the friction content of the fluid. I am sure that Lucas stuff is good, but the Lubegard is what IPT recommends.
From what I have heard from people who have filled thier transmissions too far, the stick pops out first spewing fluid all over the place. Path of least resistence when pressure is too high (too much fluid). It can also blow out your transmission seals if I am not mistaken.
20psi by 3600 is what they are saying with the FP3052. I have it as well as John's restalled stock TC. On my 16G, I was able to build 22psi on the line by 3500 rpms. I don't think you will have a problem getting full boost with the FP3052 off the line but I will confirm that in the Spring.
This thread sucks!! In any event, once everyone stops the #### jousting, maybe we can discuss how Awoler can get into the 11's with his setup. This is why I rarely read DSMTuners anymore. So much crap and BS instead of talking about DSM's regardless if they are auto or mt.
Each transmission vendor is going to have a different 'built' transmission. IPT for instance had thier transmission go 9.7 @ 139 which is probably close to 600hp at the wheels if not more. I am sure Transdude will comment.
I am not 100% sure but I don't think they are for these 2 reasons...1) OBD1 vs OBD2... The pin outs are going to be different to the ECU even if they plug in the same.2) 2G's have a locking TC where the 1G's do not.
The biggest ET saving feature of the restalled TC or aftermarket TC is being able to stall higher at the line and take those 60' down tremendously. With that being said, get rid of that stocker once you get rid of your T25. Speak with John over at IPT (who also sponsors this site) about his...
We did have an issue with registration but AFAIK, it was fixed. Before the problems, Bob Friend was the last one to join, since then, we've have people join every day so far, even today, the 14th of January so, PM me or IM me if anyone is having problems getting registered on the site! :thumb:
Viscous Coupler, not that I know of. Your best bet for stronger center differential is to get a welded one. I believe all the aftermarket center diff's are for MT's only.
Be careful, any higher and you are digging into the front clutch pack if you are still on the stock TC. The brakes might be able to keep you from moving, but the stock stall speed is typically hovering closely around 3000 rpms.
DSMLink gives you the power of a stand alone with the ease and useability of a piggyback. It is by no means a piggyback, but the user interface is very easy to use. For the price, and the fact that you don't need a separate device to control the AT, I would go with DSMLink for certain!
Anyone who is serious about making power in thier car in the top end is not going to be sticking with a T28 for very long. Don't get me wrong, it's a great turbo and makes excellent low end power and good mid range power, but it's top end sucks. The first issue is the actuator which will...
To anyone who is searching for the right trans for making an AT fast, it just doesn't get any better than IPT. As John stated earlier, two of his transmissions are in the 9's. This coming spring, he should have two more in the 11's ;)There are a lot of hacks out there who claim to build a...
I'd be glad to host the Fastest AT times on ATDSM.com. I will PM you, Russ with details..Speaking of AT goals, I hope to be in the 11s in the spring as well..
As 98TalonTsi said, drop the pan and see if there is anything funny going on in there.. There are 2 electical solenoids in there and if they are no properly grounded, who knows what can happen... Start with what is easiest for you to diagnose and work from there...Head over to...
Supposidly, FP is going to release FP3 and FP4 cams which will require upgraded valvetrain parts... I don't think it's published on thier site, but I read it from someone on the DSMLink forums..
I bought the core and had piping made for me... This is the baddest core out there, IMO.. 24x12x3.5. I am running a 16G @ 22psi and am moving to an FP3052 @ 22psi but it will not matter from a cooling standpoint with this core.. :thumb:
I'm simply saying for people who are injector shopping and don't want to get that in depth about what to buy, telling them they are not Peak&Hold injectors when every DSM dealer around is claiming they are, it gets a bit confusing, you know?
