I don't see this ending well for you detonation is a very bad thing. Im no techy guy but if you cut the spark it will still put fuel in the cylinders. So the next time it fires there would be to much fuel in the cylinders. I could be wrong but I would rather spend the money on an already made up...

im thinking about buying a 91 eclipse gst from a guy in town but it has sat for a few years he said the last time he had it running, it ran ruff he 90% sure it was bad fuel. other then compression test what are things i should look for this is my first turbo car 91 gsx eclipse( turbo) it says...

I have 92eclipse 2.0 non turbo I just rebuilt my overdrive and it works great but when im cruising and mash on the gas it just revs up but if normally accelerate its fine or if I manually shift its fine what is going on
resolved i just bought the engine from a junk yard in topeka and i was told it had 160 compression and so i didnt think to check that but i did last night and cylinder #1 was 0 so i put some oil in the cylinder and it went to 25 the others range from 155 to 170 so i dont know what im going to do...
Ok I've done a search and can't find what im looking for I just put another engine in my 92 non turbo eclipse A/T and it runs good idling but went I put it into gear the oil light comes on and it starts to run really rough to the point of killing it. Sorry I know this is a repost but I could not...
On a different note nice car hope you enjoy it and hope you get your emissions passed, kansas is not and emissions state so I don't have to worry about that so im not going to be any help

well i finally bought a 92 eclipse GS NA A/T got it home did some test and motor is shot #1 got 75lbs #2 0lbs #3 20lbs #4 50lbs anyone have a motor that runs laying around by chance i found one in topeka for 500 but i hate to drive up there let me know what you have if i have to pay a little...

i agree but im having the same trouble, i find a nice car great price, pics look good, i get there drive the car is worse then they portrade. then they wont come down on the price because everyone and thier mother is a mechanic or an idiot one guy even told me he couldnt go down on the price...
100 mm crank set up will give you extra displacment but with being in corners most of the time i think a 94 mm would fine ive read on other forums that the 94 is more reliable. dont know how true that is. but i did road races with a 94 mm. (DSM wiseguy step in anytime)..... but its up to what...
