Other thread was closed. Gotta watch what I say (times like this I wish dsmtalk was still around). SO here is the newly updated and muc cleaner EBC thread. Anyway, to answer some questions from the previous one. It should be capable of operating up to 100 psi. Gotta transfer some bank funds...
Gotta love the amount of dicks out there. I hope your comments are meant to motivate me :p . First off, I don't see how this is "ricer" at all. It's a freaking boost controller. My whole motivation is to make it because I want one in my car, I want the challenge of developing it, and I want...
Jim97gst. I have an idea about a similiar feature you are talking about. This one could also have similiar feature (not in original design) but would cost extra for me to build (using 2 solenoids instead of one). However, i have been looking into that option and if the normal design...
desolate. I'm sorry your feel like that but I know exactly what you mean. I posted this thread so I could get some input if hte features I listed were what the community wants or if you guys have ideas of other feature I an add in. It would be much easier to design any changes in now then have...
I do have most of my schematic and all main components chosen but I think I'm going to have to make some big changes to my original idea because I forgot I'm working with 0 to 12 V instead of -12 to 12 (been in the lab too much lately). Should have a final prototype design by this weekend and a...
Hey guys, I've decided to design/build an electronic boost controller for my car, but if theres interest I may consider taking advantage of ebay and marketing a few of them. Heres my ideas for features and specs.
The control module will consists of a knob, several switches and some outputs...
Hey guys, I just did a timing belt/water pump job this weekend and the car has been running great. Sounds good, tons of power. However, when I idle for more than about 40 seconds I start to overheat, as soon as I drive again it goes back down to normal. Any chance that my belt jumping a tooth...
I saw a dual setup in a car a little while ago. One pump was external pump for a older style mustang I think (used out of tank pump) and the other was a standard 255 in the tank. One pump was just for the N2O.
Thats what I was thinking. I figured the 75 shot would actually equal about 100+ at that boost with my turbo. 100+ though would probably put my car well over 400 hp (guessing my hp from 1/4 mile time 12.6 @ 111.6 with a 1.9 60', weight = 3100 with me in it). So your saying the direct port...
Hey guys,
I'd like to make my next upgrade a shot of n2o  . I really like the idea of direct port but I'm not sure my engine can handle a 75 shot right now (minimum of direct port correct?). I'd assume that running my car at 21 psi, I'd need to have race gas in the tank before I could...
O man, you guys are making this a tough decision. My only worry about a bigger turbo is spool up time. When I race the car lives above 4500 rpms but daily driving its damn nice to go up a hill in 5th and still have torque when You hit the gas at 3200 rpm's. That coupled with the fact that...
DSMlink i will definitely be getting. You guys are suggesting water/alky injection but does it have any benefit over propane injection??????? IPO's propane kit seems like a pretty bulletproof system that will give me the same benefits as alcohol injection but less maintenance.
I have a 90 AWD turbo with the original engine. I'm doing a timing belt job and the blasted crankpulley won't come off. I pulled out the 4 12mm bolts but did not touch the lrage center nut (the VFAQ makes it seem like you don't have too). Do I need to remove this center large spocket...
Now thats the kind of data I'm talking about. I'm about 80% sure I'm getting the linkbut the cams vs nitrous issue is still up in the air. The only reason I only want to run a 35 or 50 shot is because, as I'm sure most of you know, running a shot in a turbocharged motor leads to HP gains well...
Everyone seems to be all about the cams. What kind of benefits would they give me running my current turbo. I like cams but I have a feeling N2O kit = 11's and cams = not much faster.
http://www.dsmlink.com/ its finally here for the 1 g rust rockets. Also, propane injection is a very cheap alternative to running race gas 24/7. Theres some good threads on it floating around. Thanks for the replies so far. Why cams before nitrous?
Hey guys,
I've been debating what I want to do for my next upgrades and now that I've finally narrowed it down I'd like to hear some honest opinions. I'm planning to spend between $1000 and $1200 on upgrades in the next couple weeks. Below I've listed the mod combos I've narrowed it down to...
Thanks guy for the quick replies. You may have saved me some serious engine damage. It may be worth considering machining my own with a dampener built in if the cheapest one out there is $350
Hey guys,
I jsut stumbled upon a great deal for a aluminum crank pulley. Mine stock one is pretty shot so I'm seriously considering picking this up. Could running it have any negative affects upon my engine? Thanks
Hey,
I'm stranded in philadelphia with one hell of a coolant leak. Its coming from the drivers side of the motor and it just pours out when the motor is running and heated up (it has to be heated up before it leaks). I'm praying its not the water pump. Is there anything else on that side of...
