It's not just paint, I was going to modify it with a couple of vents for heat extraction, which I know would be easier in fiberglass than carbon, despite the similarities. Also from looking at prices $225 for glass vs around $400 for a cheap CF... Thanks for the tip on Frank's!
So I'm looking for a fiberglass hood for my GST. Now, before anyone starts talking about CF, I want fiberglass because I can paint it, modify it easily without worries, and it SHOULD be cheaper than an carbon one... I just can't find any...does anyone even make a fiberglass hood for these cars...
I'm in, gonna picking up my new GST spyder this friday. If anyone wants to cook it I can bring chicken, lol... also, if anyone attending has a front driver upper motor mount they need rid of bring it and i'd be glad to buy it, mines shot.. lol
i liked it, barely better than the first, WAY better than the 2nd...the drifters' and vin's cameos were nice touches, ANNND..did anyone notice how sean kept han's memory alive by building an s15 for himself at the end?(though I'd kept the crazy mustang if it was me..)
I shaved mine and plan on getting one like Galaxy has in the Spyder, they're easy to shave and relocate, it just takes a lil effort, like everything else that's worthwhile..:thumb:
I'm currently doing about the same thing, but I dont know the best way..I wanna keep more of the stock shape...but add some random stuff and GET RID OF THE AIRBAG!(I hate 'em...if you're a seatbelt user they're just a hazard IMHO). Anyway, I'm just worried about having to reshape if I remove the...
I'm about to start work on my dashboard, dunno what I'm gonna do exactly, yet, but I really need to know is how much of the shape is in the foam under the vinyl. If alot of it is, then I have to rethink the whole thing..but if the shape is in the underlying plastic, then I think it'll be ok...
Anyone know ANYTHING about Summit's adjustable seats? They're affordable and I'm sure Summit knows what they're doing with seats since they've made solid seats for circle track and drag race applications for years....but Im wondering how comfy they are..
For 1, using bondo for such a big hole is stupid...and 2, it wouldn't hold for crap on a 2gb front because it's urethane... I plan on trying it using a professional grade urethane repair epoxy(which is like $70 for one tube...but it's created mostly for tab repair on front valances/bumper...
I was goin to, but got lazy...and I was afraid I couldnt make it sturdy enough...my solution was going to be..after cutting out the right ammount in the middle, cutting slits on each side(unless they're hollow, that'd make it easier) and putting some kind of support in there and the...
first thing i would assume is that you need a fiberglass(maybe CF) hood, and fenders, then you'll have to figure out how to latch it..i dont know how most people latch those...and most that use them dont have working headlights..and on an eclipse i'd assume that'd be a problem since our...
First, It helps to give the mileage of your car when asking a question like that......if it's over 100k, then you're gonna need to rebuild first and foremost, IMO of course. But if you've got less than or around 50k on the ODO it'll be ok, the stock 420A can hold a stage1 or stage2 from hahn...
i believe it's the same car... if not it's VERY VERY similar, that's the problem with dedicated show cars, they change so much you could see them 3 times in 2 years and it'd look different every time...
If you dont know how much something costs, best thing is to go to the store you plan on buying from and ask, because prices vary, and if you go to an auto paint supply store for 'em, they can tell you what would be best for your project and budget. Also, I would start small for your first...
It's...kinda cool looking... minus the fake ass engine.. nice concept and execution though..just nothing awesome, at least from performance standpoint..show wise it's NICE....
when said plate i meant license plate.... as for brackets being sold, no, there isnt, if you want to get an eclipse bumper you either have to move the brackets up, put some new ones one in addition to the old ones(the eclipse bumper will still directly attach with the old ones there, but not...
there is one place online that actually sells a blitz rear for a talon..but it's poorly thought out(still has the recess for a plate) but if you wanted to keep the tails, maybe you could go for it and fix the recess with some fiberglass (pm me if you need a link to the site)
it's a factory one... I havent found any good ones for the A/T, and the manual knob stand in bothers me because there's no way to attach it, it just sits atop the lever(looks kinda dumb IMO unless you wanna go with a shift boot..., and I drive using the shift lever as a handrest(because my...
if you want an AT handle that lights up, I've got an extra one laying around I could try to do something with.. what color LEDs you looking for, red or blue?
i had something like that at one point in time..but I had headlight strobes in 'em...was sweet(and freaking bright...I couldnt use 'em driving because it shown so much in the cabin) as a hell...but I was afraid of the heat damaging the lights, so I took 'em out....
I think mine are too, and that's why I basically stated "DON'T GET THE METALLIC/CHROME LOOK ones" the normal ones wont fade 'cause that's the colore of the plastic..but the other ones are painted..and MOST anodize/metal look paint fades if not done right....
They have them at advance auto and autozone, look around in their electronics/wiring stuff, they're usually mixed in there somewhere, they tend to run about $10 a piece... the colors they usually offer(or can get) are, flat red, flat blue, flat yellow, chrome red, blue, green, or yellow, and...
i've seen people modify celica spoilers that style to fit a 2g..i'm sure you could shorten the length of that one to fit a 2g... BUT... wings west made one, called the commando... stillen has one, and so does kaminari..so they're around :)
those look like ebay seller names, not the actual producer of the lights (wild guess).. .but from owning chrome dual projectors(mine dont have halos tho) I would say go with the black ones for sure, the chrome gets kinda old after a while...it does help retain a somewhat stock look if you've had...
Gotcha beat, check out my cardomain, I've got a 2gb eclipse rear waiting paint to replace the current 95, and some sideskirts waiting installation... It started life as an ES, then was an ES-T, then due to problems beyond my control, is back to an ES until I do a full rebuild so I can actually...
I love the 97+ Talon bumpers, it's a nice inbetween of the 95-96s and 97+ eclipses... gotta love the evil smile it's got.. it looks even better with 97-99 eclipse lights..but I'm still trying to figure out a good fix for the gap...like an insert for that or something....
Yea...the only spiders I hate truely are brown recluse's and funnelwebs... but since funnelwebs are in the U.S....well, you get the idea... I've been bitten by a black widow, but was medicated soon enough that I didnt even really get sick...so yea brown recluse tops my list of "evil poisoinous...
First, someone mentioned the spiders that dissolve flesh, those are NOT funnelwebs..funnelwebs are the most poisonous... the brown recluse is the evil arachnid you're thinking of, and it's in the U.S., and they arent large like tarantulas..they're about the size of the average wolf spider...
The doors are the same. The difference is alot of talons have a trim piece/dent gaurd thing on 'em... I dunno how they're attached, my didnt have 'em from the beginning...so it could just be heavy duty double sided tape..but then again could have lil pop-rivet things as well...
do you want with or without tires? most companies sell the sets with, but usually if you call em, you can buy just the rims.. and MOST 18" wheels sets will be under $600 for 4... unless you're wanting very lightweight or 3 piece rims(like Blitz or Advan...) so yea, find a company that is...
Easiest way, would be remove the door panel and just unplug the thing. find and tracing wires would take more time than taking out some screws/bolts and popping off the panel. HOWEVER, while you're in there, be careful to not get any of the black stuff holding on the clear plastic they put in...
Stillen front bumper, custom cut/molded sideskirts, probably started life as blitz from the looks of 'em, with a custom vent molded in the quarter panel...and as far as the rims, just look around all the wheel sites you can find online for a similar style, you can probably find the same style...
1) black taillights are NOT jdm, ther is very little 'jdm' stuff for dsms because they were produced over here in usa and were exported to Japan and Europe. And over there the Eclipses(Talons were only U.S. and canada I believe) used lights much like ours, only they had amber/yellow corners...
i believe dave99gst has that...though I didnt know it was a buyable hood..i thought it was just the vent they sell grafted onto a stock hood...(but i've never called them to check, so that's probably why :P ) you just saved me lots of time :) thanks
if you do get a bodykit, let me know, i need some stock sideskirts :) and if you're looking for bodykits... try www.importfan.com or versus motorsport (forgot the link to it, but you'll find it in google)
I'm not... because SOMEONE could have produced all red or already blacked out tails...to save lazy people like me the trouble....I got to a point I didnt care no more and went to the Eclipse rear end
