The shop I had it at (UCS Performance) had a few extra sets around and sold them to me at a good price. Let me know if you're looking for some and I'll ask if they have more.
Notice the rocker arm on the left, looks like the oil passage was machined incorrectly. That one was different than all the other ones and it was either clogged or not getting enough oil.Updated them all to EVO 8 lifters and problem solved.
I do have 3g lifters installed and this is way beyond lifter tick. It's definitely a mechanical problem. We're probably working on a fix this week, will update when I have some news.
Update:Had the car towed back to the shop since I didn't want to drive it. Noise was gone when it got there. Idled fine for 15 minutes and still no noise after a drive.Started it up this morning and the noise is back. Starting to think one of the lifters is not getting enough oil pressure...
To make a long story short, started up car one day and there was a loud tapping coming from the head that would increase frequency with engine rev but wouldn't get louder.Compression and leakdown tests came back good, also had good oil pressure. No apparent loss of power, just sounded like a...
Sounds like he doesn't know what ECMlink is capable of. Of course some shops will be biased or prefer a tuning solution over another, but ECMlink is proven in the DSM community. It's not perfect but it's one of the best options when staying with the stock ECU.
Yeah I considered selling it and getting a 2g but couldn't find a decent one that I wanted and this one is very clean. Top works perfectly and doesn't leak. It will be great this summer :thumb:
It's burgundy, not purple. The color looks better in person. I've never owned a convertible so I thought I'd give it a tryI never thought I'd own a 3g either, was never a fan. I was just going to flip it since I got it so cheap, but it started growing on my and my current beater has over...
Just picked this 3g spyder up for dirt cheap ($800) just needed a new bottom end. Body and everything else is in perfect condition. I was going to resell it but it's growing on me to just keep as a daily driver. A lot better than driving around my Accord. :rocks:
T3/T4 isn't being very descriptive on what turbo you have. Sounds like you'll be running low boost so you'll need a decently sized wastegate. I'm not trying to be mean here but it doesn't sound like you really know what you're getting yourself into yet... so I'd recommend doing a bit more...
Have you tried another brand belt? Another old trick would be to lightly sand the pulley and rough them up a bit, this will give more grip between the pulley and belt.
It keeps getting harder to find split boots for many reasons, primarily because the prices of rebuilt shafts are so low. Depending on your state, most auto stores won't sell them because they won't pass state inspection. With all that said, I would suggest just getting an axle. It will save you...
I've seen it work a few times when everything else failed. It's worth a shot.Dayco also makes this new type of belt called a "W" profile belt which is the latest and greatest with superior grip. They're a bit hard to find in all sizes but check out your local parts store. I've seen those...
Have you tried getting a belt that's one size smaller? You might have more luck with that. Another trick you can try is getting some sandpaper and roughing up the pulley grooves a little bit, that will give the belt a better grip.
Fair enough, I'll look into it. I honestly haven't considered full density until I finished this set up and realized how much I would benefit from it. I'm just not trying to get in over my head with this thing.
I've ran a 13.1 quarter mile on a blown 16g turbo. Just because a turbo is bad, doesn't mean it won't make boost at all. It depends on what's wrong with it.
Is there any oil in your intake hose? if so then that's probably from a bad PCV valve, but if there's no oil in the intake hose, but there's oil in your intercooler pipe, then it's the turbo.Yes I can hear that racket lol just hard to tell where it's coming from in the video.
Hard to tell with the exhaust leaks you have going on.Fix those first and then maybe you (we) will be able to hear the problem better. Also try seeing if you have any oil in your lower intercooler pipe. If you do, that's a clear indication that you have a bad turbo
How does that confuse you? The axle is connected to the transmission on one side and the hub on the other side. Take it out of the hub first, and then pull it out of the transmission. What don't you understand?
