I was sure what the best section would be to put this in, so i'm putting it in here. I'm about to pull me first engine/tranny on my 4g64 spyder and drop new ones in. Is a 9 foot ceiling clearance gonna be enough to lift the motor/tranny out of the car? I want to do this in my garage if possible...
So I get back to school, go to put up my windows, NOTHING. I have power and the car will start. I go and wiggle the fuse box and they go up? Start the car, drive it a bit, get to my parking spot and it has no power. Shut the door and open it and it has power. Keyless entry wont work. Windows...
I owned a red 89PGT myself with around 220k on it! It was a very fun car, even more so than my current GS-T. It was before I was familiar with the mechanics of a car though. You may try checking probetalk.com and get some more accurate assistance there.
At a reasonable cost.I'm looking to repaint my car W12, Northstar White. I suppose if I can find a different white cheaper than that is fine as well. The color that is on it now doesn't look so grand.I've found one place but 2 quarts of base and 2 quarts of clear was gonna run me $400...
Well you obviously have not got much of a clue on what your talking about. That Escalade you posted, probably gets within 2-3MPG of your DSM. They get better gas mileage than alot of vehicles actually. Most refineries have the capability to output more oil, but there is not enough demand for...
If you feel its a good deal, great! But I couldn't justify paying 1200 a year for a 96 TSI, especially for more than 2 years. 2 years from now you could buy another TSI AWD for that price. Just my 2 cents.
This is the coolest thing I've read on here in awhile. My leather shift knob was peeling when I bought the car and I was just about to buy a replacement vinyl knob. Defiant is right, the rubber shift knob is right under the wrapped leather with numbers and all.
Aww man thats a nicely finished basement too. Sorry man! :(My driveway is gone. Rain got under all the cracks and carried the ashpalt off. Trash cans floated away while full as well. My road is a river right now. Can't even flush the toilets.
Have you made sure you got it COMPLETELY dry after changing the cap? I thought the same thing too and it was just old oil. It's kinda tough to get all the oil wiped clean along the corners.
I was leaking oil there and bought some high temp rtv (comes out orange) and RTV'd the HELL out of both sides of the flange. I mean lots of RTV. No more leaks and its been a month.
Ah I didn't know if just those bearings could be replaced or if it had to be rebuilt. If thats the case I'll let it go for awhile and just pick up a used tranny.
I don't think this is a Brode pipe but is somewhat similar minus the bend in it. I actually currently have the stock intake box but plan on going with a cone filter here soon. I'm HOPING to get it in Sunday but it may or may not happen
You can do it by yourself and without a jack depending on your strength level. I did it when I was about 150lbs. MAKE SURE YOU LOCTITE THE FLYWHEEL BOLTS
Yeah I got it. It is different than that picture I got from VFAQ, but it doesn't matter regardless what kind it is as it has the 1G flange on it :thumb:I couldn't find any clamps big enough to fit the blue coupler. I'm wondering if I'll have to take two radiator type clamps and run them...
I just found this picture:That pipe looks different. The one I have has a bend in it, so that coupler may very well work. Not sure if he redesigned it or if it's something similar. No big deal either way!I've got a MBC on the way. Do you think I'll be alright for 3-4 days with it...
That is what I got from a guy who said its a Dave Brode pipe. I also have a 1g BOV. That coupler looks different than the elbows I have seen. Will that work fine? Also, I need to make a trip to the auto parts store and want to know what parts I will need to get it hooked up. Clamps only?I...
Turbo'ing a 4g64 isnt that bad and can handle it, but its when you really want to put on a huge turbo that you will run into problems with the weaker internals.
Tranny was rebuilt around 50k ago. It almost sounds like what you would hear if the TOB is going bad, but its not the TOB because it doesn't stop when the clutch is depressed. It almost sounds like a faint air leak or something of the sort. It does it in all the gears. Now say I am in 1st or 3rd...
You don't speak for everyone. Me, I prefer nice sound AND performance. I like to hear my car work. Not everyone shares the same opinion, and I hate others trying to act like its one way or no way. :notgood:
With that many miles I'd say you might as well rebuild. But getting a used engine and throwing in would be alot cheaper. When I replaced my 4g64 I found a used 2.4 out of a galant for $200 with 70k on it and threw it in.
Around last October I ordered a nice $100 mouse. Well, the tracking showed it was delivered to my doorstep at 3:30pm. I got back from fishing around 3:15 and was cleaning some fish outside at that time. She never came. The seller on ebay filed a claim and decided he would keep the money. So...
Well I'm restricting myself on what I do to the DSM. I sell stuff on ebay. Alot of stuff. So that money I make is going towards the DSM :)I have alot of credits and eventually plan on finishing up schooling for IT. This job should enable me to save up a nice down payment though in a year.
It's rough man, especially right now! It definitely helps when you have family who can get you work somewhere. I was working for my fiances uncle maintaining a large historical site he bought. He is filthy rich but was only paying me $8. I wasn't happy about it but did it to make ends meet. Good...
Well when I just turned 18 I got into some trouble, nothing TOO bad, and it scarred my record. I've had a heck of a time finding a decent paying job. Well my uncles brother does excavation and has been getting TONS of work and only had his nephew working for him and he is only 17 so he cant...
I know the Dave Brode but I tried emailing him and it bounced. Any others? The 1G bov I am getting comes with a flange but I'd rather be able to get a new pipe. Here is what I am getting:
wow strong first postJudging from their recent feedback, they have lost care in what they do. I would proceed with caution in buying from them. They are definitely restricted on their amount of listings and probably close to being canned.
