That's good, I've always believed in go before show. If your car looks good, but you get smoked by Tercels, then you have a problem. ;)Enough to buy two turbo Eclipse's. :)I got it for $25000 including taxes. OMG
Not worth it, unless you are extremely modded to the max and it's the last thing that you have left to do. Like previously stated, if it's you're daily driver don't bother, especially if you live in a hot place and have weak arms. :)There are better ways to get power without sacrificing comfort.
Yeah, it's even worse when it's sunny outside, it's really hot and the women are wearing there "summer" clothes. You just want to cruise around with the sunroof open or the targa off. :)
I usually wait at least 30 seconds before I leave to go anywhere, even if the engine's been warmed up.As for cool down, the speed limit in my neighborhood is 30 kph, so I drive home at 30 for about 2 mins and idle for at least 2 minutes.
It's a $1.30 a litre here for 94 octane fuel, but if you drive a turbo car you better get use to it. I don't even risk putting anything lower than 92 octane in my car, even if I was short on cash.
The one you showed me ?I'm bringing my Supra out next month, she's been sitting in the garage waiting for the built engine to be dropped in. It would take me about 20 hours to drive to Winnipeg from here. I'm still deciding on whether on not to do it. Here's a couple of pics I took recently...
For body filler, I like to use 80 to 150 to 180. Sometimes going from 80 to 180 leaves very small scratches that 180 can't seem to sand out and primer surfacer doesn't cover up. Just from personal experience. I don't use 320 unless the body work is a little wavy, then I go to 400 then 600 using...
No, you don't have to take the fenders off, but it would help if you took off the plastic fender liners in the wheelwell. Also, you have to realize most bodykits don't fit that well, so you'll have to play around with the fitments. Does the bumper already have the holes on the side or do you...
I go by the manufacturer, it's like asking if a Pontiac Vibe is a domestic. It's designed by Toyota for GM, but it's the same thing as a Matrix, it just looks different. The question is, why does it matter ? Does being an import or domestic make it any better ?
The shifting on the stock 2G is very nice, it feels very solid. It's a little stiff, but if you change the shifter bushings it'll be alot easier to shift. It's would be great to have as your first car.
Yes, it does decrease your power.I've never had a problem taking my silencer out, but I've only put it on once and took it off right away. I'd probably use needle nose plyers, if I had problems taking it off.
I have lots of cousin's in Winnipeg, I might be coming down there this summer. I use to live there, I lived there for 7 years.I was thinking of driving my Supra over there, but I didn't want to put that much mileage on it. So I'll probably just end up flying there.
I wouldn't let him touch my car, if he's going to charge that much. But fortunately, I do all my own work.$600 dollars for a wrecked 97 Spyder GS, if you part that thing out you'd get way more than that.I say you get far far away from that shop and find another one.
I'll take him from a roll or a dig, in my Supra. :)I say, just get a 16G because it seems like your wanting more than 13's. Plus it has more potential, if you want to go even faster in the future. I would suggest an LSD as well if you plan on putting that much power to ground on your front...
Just to warn you, painting a car isn't very easy. There are many things you have to consider. Two things you have to worry about are temperature and humidity, that'll affect what type of reducer you have to use in the paint. You should follow the instructions that came with the paint, you should...
Just sand it down lightly, try not to hit primer, if you do it's ok. Also, sand it down evenly, don't sand one area more than others. But definately don't sand down all the way to the plastic. As for wet sanding, I wouldn't do it unless there was something wrong with the paintjob afterwards.
Some nice sticky tires up front wouldn't hurt either. Also, if you practice your launching, you'll do alot better, try and experiment to find the perfect launch RPM.As for mods on a budget:14B
Complete exhaust system
MBC
Cold air intake
Clean it with a wax and grease remover first, then sand it down using 400 grit sandpaper, then follow that up with 800. Blow off the dust and clean it again. You don't have to sand all the way down to the plastic and reprime unless the old paint is peeling off. The flex additive is added to the...
If you're not going to get the surfaces decked, I would stick with the OEM HG as well. But I would definately use ARP headstuds. The thicker the HG the lower the compression.
Try looking on Supraforums buy and sell section, Supra guys are selling them all the time. There's a guy on there selling one right now, if you want me to PM him your e-mail, just let me know.
Unless you plan on plugging the holes permanently, I wouldn't take it off. But if you really want to take it off, it's very easy to do. Just take off the plastic cover in the hatch and you should be able to take off the bolts holding the spoiler on.
All that power being added and no suspension or brake work being done. What are you going to be mainly using the car for, track, strip or street ?I suggest your next mod should be complete exhaust system, downpipe, test pipe and catback exhaust. I would put the FMIC on after the fuel system...
Is the check engine light on in the dash ? Did you make sure that the battery isn't dead or not holding a charge ? I know these suggestions might sound simple, but it's best to check the simple things before you start doing anything else.
Other than 10 VAC on idle, everything else seems to be fine. I usually get around 18 VAC on idle. Depending on how I'm driving with no load, 20 VAC seems fine. With the engine off, the boost gauge should go to 0.
Have you tried giving it a bit of gas when you try and start it ? Did you check to make sure you're battery terminals are on tight ? Do you have a Check Engine Light on ? If you have a coolant temperature sensor code, then that could be you're problem.
Okay, I just bought an Autometer Ultra-Lite boost gauge and it comes with the plastic tube and no t-fitting. My question is, how will the plastic tube fit on the t-fitting ? It looks pretty small. Do I have to buy anything else to make it fit ? This is my first gauge install, so I'm just...
The next purchase for my car is a boost gauge and I was thinking of getting an Autometer Ultra-Lite boost guage, but I've heard from some people that Autometer gauges weren't any good. I just wanted to know if you guys have had any bad experiences with them. Also, I need to get two other...
