The only vacuum lines I have on my car is the one going from the intake manifold to the fpr and boost gauge. I also have another going to the blow off valve and boost contol(then to wastegate). Hope that helps.:thumb:
No offense but thats the stupidest thing I have heard. An oil that is slicker, will reduce friction in the motor. The motor will run better, have more power, and get better gas milage. Most people wouldn't notice the difference because its so minor but it does help.
How are you going to control the power steering and power brakes? The engine would always have to be running for those to work. Also the money you spend on this setup would probly cost quiet a bit of money. I dont think it would be worth it, but it would be pretty cool.
I don't like the hybrids. They are dangerous and you can't work on them unless you are trained. They are under factory warranty, but what happens in a couple of years and they are not covered when they break. It will cost a ton of money to get them fixed. I would get a diesel if you are...
I have been running a spool for about 6 months and I love it. The guy who built my tranny highly recommened it for me since I do a lot of drag racing. I also drive my car daily and never had a problem. He said it is a little harder on the rest of your drivetrain but it is a lot safer for your...
I have a spool in my rebuilt tranny and I love it. My car is pretty close to stock and I love the spool. The tire skips when I have to make tight turns but its not a big deal. I didn't really notice a big difference in turn radius because the turn radius in these cars suck. I would recommend...
I would get it rebuilt. I got mine rebuilt for $900 from a local guy who rebuilds dsm trannys. You can rebuild it yourself but it will probaly cost you more. It takes a lot of tools that you may not have. Before do that, I would bleed and adjust the clutch. That might fix your problem...
I would say just drive it intill something else breaks in the tranny. Then have the tranny rebuilt. Thats what I did. Also I would recommend getting getting a welded center diff or a spool. It will still skip across the pavement but the traction gains are worth it. The guy who rebuilt mine...
Its not hard to rebuild the diff. Just pull everything apart to see what the problem is. Check all the bearings and teeth for wear. Remember when you pull the ring gear out to remember which shims are on each side because shimming the ring gear is a pain. For taking off the bearing if they...
Since you have a weldd center dif., couldn't you just pull the transfer case off and drive it fwd to see if it is the transfer case. If it is still making the noise, then its not the transfer case.
Samething happened to mine. The rear tires skiped across the pavement when I made sharp turns. When my tranny finally went out, the center diff. was locked up. The guy who rebuilt it put a spool center diff.
It is grinding in first cause your car is 15 years old. It could be something simple like misajusted lkinkage. It could be a bad syncro. A lot of old dsms have tranny problems. Try changing tranny fluid. It help mine for a while.
Good luck

I don't know why having an auto is better for a daily driver??? I drive a 5-speed daily and do a lot of drag racing. It is great. Also you don't have to change a clutch every 6 months. My friend runs 11s on his ACT 2600 which he drives daily. A 5-speed is also more FUN to drive. :thumb...
Just don't haunch it and you will be fine. You can run more than 14psi. I would run 16-17psi. With my 91 TSi, the tranny went before the stock clutch. I ran 16psi daily and launched it a little.
just like oddrod said, it should be around 145-160. Mine on my 91 awd TSi was 150 on all cylinders. You are losing some big power if your compression is that low. Not to be an a**, but did you set it up right.
I rebuilt my 4-bolt rear end. It was cheap! I just got shims though. If you need new bearings, it shouldn't be that more expensive. Don't take it to a shop! They charge a lot of $$ for that. Just go to you local Mitsu dealer and order new bearings and shims. The hardest part of the...
I ran a 13.7 at 96mph on a stock 91 eagle talon awd at Indianapolis Raceway Park. Well i guess its not completely stock, i have a SBR boost controller on 15psi. Most of my friends say thats pretty fast for my mods. My friends old 1g awd was not that fast and it was running 15psi and had 3 inch...
My syncro in 1st is completely out. It won't hardly shift into 1st except sometimes between 25-20mph. I was wondering if anybody rebuilt their own 5 speed trany? If so, how hard was it and where do you get the parts. If I rebuild it, I want to put double syncros in 1st. Can you put double...
My friend has the same car and it is hooked up the same way and he doesn't have any problems. He is running about 15psi. That is why I wondered if it was the boost controller.
I just put in my new slowboy racing manuel boost controller and boost gauge. I took it out for a test drive to dial in the boost. It peaked at 22psi till it hit fuel cut. So I pulled over and losened the nut even more. I did another pull in 3rd and it hit 22psi again. So I turned the bolt...
1. Take off diff cover.
2. Take off the bearing caps(mark which ones go on each side)
3. Then take the ring gear and diff case out all together.
4. The bearing races will fall off(mark which side they came from)
5. The shims should also fall out(mark which side, very important)
Don't take...
The B1G should be the rear diff for your car. The "J" is for automatics. My 91 has a B1G and so should yours. I think the automatics have a different gear ratio. As long as the gear ratio is the same, you should be fine. It should be 3.545 and it shold say on the label. Good luck.
B1G is the 90-91 and the B1H is 92 and on. I don't know what year the B1H ended. They are the same. They are both 4 bolts and lsd. The difference is that the half shafts to the hub are 3 bolt on the B1G and 4 bolt on the B1H.
I had the same problem with my 91 awd talon. It was the inner cv joint. It made a rattling sound from the rear when I drove it. I waited too long to fix it and my drivers side half shaft snaped. Find out which half shaft it is and fix it. The axle will pop out of the diff with a crowbar...
