Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe one day you'll sink some "real" money into these projects instead of budget building them! Haha but congrats again Matt!! I should have came to the track instead of watching foozeball.Kenny better get his ass in gear before you pass him in the 9's! ;)
That's pretty sweet. I know on one of the local forums I'm on someone was selling a glass "bong" that looked like a turbo. Or something like that...was really detailed and pretty sweet to have sitting on the shelf.
Holset is a cheap effective way to go IMO. I know a buddy used to run on an HX40 with the BEP. 55 housing and was full boost around 4500rpms on a built 2.0L on E85 was upper 500whp. I would imagine if you used the stock twin scroll housing spool would be a tad quicker and will get you your...
Your over flow could go down in the stock IC location. Also pull off the FP manifold and at least high temp paint it. A simple wipe down of the motor would help too. :)
As already stated, they will not match up. Best thing to do is swap hatches unless you got a hook up at a body shop that can cover the holes and repaint it.
I want those Evo7 wheels! With that said though, I vote keep the Evo7 wheels and the GST wheels. I like the look of GSX wheels on a 1g too but personally I think that 1g's look best with 16" wheels, granted the Evo7's are 17" but those are just sexy. The Motegi are junk.
 So not fair! Couldn't find a crappier body for your AWD swap?! I've been looking for a nice 2g for a DD for CHEAP and all I find up here are POS ones that would be perfect just for the AWD parts but not as a DD as the bodies are crap.Sell me that car and find another doner for your...
Ok so what the title of this thread needs to be changed, that way all these people wouldn't be getting butt hurt over the subject anymore. Built2Race came clean so everyone calm down.To BUILT2RACE, congrats as someone already said, awesome job on pushing stock Evo pistons and rods! It's good...
Honestly not really, but /J and myself had to check it out to see what DSport was all about. Not even close to the amazing work /J does. As said above it's a quick over-view of the shootout.BUT if your media-anal like myself, the quality just wasn't there. I mean for the cameras those...
That is how we WI people roll! Well more or less just the Janesville, WI peeps ROFLBut /J has been a busy busy man! The rest of the videos will be out soon, DSport has nothing on us! Except, unlimited supply of money to fund their equipment...
Ya you will have a core charge. I've got the FFWD DKS 272, for the price you can't beat them. Shipping was pretty quick and it was like a $40 core charge so I believe I paid just under $200 shipped for them.
In 04 I picked up a black 96 Eagle Talon TSI FWD from an older couple who were the original owners with 43k original miles on it. $6000 Had it for 2 years exactly, put a couple grand into it, maintenance/performance wise and sold it for $8000.In 06 I picked up a silver 99 Eclipse Spyder GST...
:thumb:http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/drag-strip/417110-10-5-129-hx35-auto.htmlNot on the BEP .55 housing but his own twin scrolled manifold he made. Still a record for the HX35.
I still can't believe how well those limiting straps work in the front! Compared to what your car used to look like leaving the line it is much more planted in the front.Congrats again Matt, sorry I crapped out on going to the track that morning but I thought there would be lots of rain...
My question is where are people putting the restrictor exactly? Meaning what's best, on the turbo itself or actually restricting it at the OFH. I've read/seen some people just weld the OFH fitting and re-drill it to the restriction size they need. I also see (and I got one in my feed kit)...
I hear you there! I had some new ideas for his video but screwed up using the Hero GoPro camera, it was my 1st time trying to use one and it didn't work out too well ROFL oh well I hope he got something out of it.Will still be badass either way!
We were there doing work this year! Though there was a lot more going on this year with /J's SLR there and KP's red 1gb.I have not doubt in my mind that your video will rock just as much as it did last year /J! BTW I've been listening to a lot of music trying to figure out what songs...
I might as well add since I can't find a whole lot of info on the PTE turbos in general but do they need a restrictor of some sort for the Journel Bearing PTE's? What is recommended the best to run the oil feed line, fron the OFH or the head?
:thumb: I agree, I loved my S-Drives and I would get another set but the price of tires have jumped up quite a bit since I bought my last set. I can't afford to drop so much money just for tires that only last a year :ohdamn:
Indeed I have them on my Red 2gb Talon. I'll try and post picture later tonight. If you get a good deal on them I say get them, they look good on a 2gb Talon imo.
I think Matt has proven that the stock 3bolt rear end isn't that weak! Lol though it is hating life right now, it has been through quite a lot in it's lifetime!
Has anyone tried the clear yet? I was thinking of doing my front bumper and hood to protect it from rock chips and such. Like a clear bra would but only this is a hell of a lot cheaper!
I think this is the greatest idea ever!!!! You should be able to get down to "honduh" weight with those weight saving ideas! Great job Matt, keep up the work! :D
^ that.Mr.Peepers and I did that as well. Cut that out and man was it restrictive having that in there!!!! Well worth the half hour or so of being a pain in the ass cutting it out.
I'm sure if everyone pitched in a few bucks here and there that would be no problem!!!! /J buddy, I'll clear my schedual and take a "personal leave of absence" from work!I'm not sure you can top this year J. Last year was awesome and this year's video is definately the best! I have a...

FWD making good/decent HP, you should run some drag radials and then just a nice set of street tires.I'm running Yokohama S-drive's for my street tires and love them! Nice and sticky, BUT not good launching tires....great for everything else and from rolls but are terrible launching tires...
So you are saying "proper parts" never fail? By Kenny saying it was "driver error" which I personally think he was lucky and that car obviously had "proper parts". The day he over reved the crap out of it, he was still able to drive it around for months. If it wasn't "proper parts" I'm sure...
