Use the j-pipe, you should already have a source there anyway. Otherwise yes, follow the pic. You will be VERY happy with how much cleaner and less leaky your engine is.
Yes, people replace line with silicone. But get good line like from RRE. Also, if you want since you're there, you might want to think about doing a vac redux too.
You can't just pull the lines, you need to know what to cap, and run different and eliminate. It's not that easy. . . Look up the taboo guide to vac elim, that will help.
Shift kit, End clutches, Trans cooler, temp gauge, new fluid/manual vavle/filter/gasket.That will set you for some decent power for a while. And all together i guess no more than maybe like 3-400 bucks. And you can do it all yourself, it's easy.Personally, if you want straight line...
I'm not going to help because it's against forum rules period to benchrace like that. Will it help? Of course, he knows it will. What more needs to be answered until he actually gets them in and hits the track?
Racing into traffic is stupid enough, but you also just posted street racing into a STRICT NON-STREETRACING forum.I hope this thread doesn't get closed because of it.
Color scheme? I didn't know solid black was a scheme. :p (Just givin you shite Brute)Looks better than most though. But question, Why couple so much of the uicp, looks like you could easily get rid of one by welding the bov section to the section before it.
He also talks to the president of my car club "empire". Has the black evo with the reflective material on the valve cover. That evo makes some SICK hp too.
Depends on your power level and goals. Really though, IMO, once you hit the point where you actually need that much intake flow, you are way past piggyback tuning anyway. So you might as well move to speed density.
Nice helpful post there buddy. :rolleyes:I honestly wouldn't recommend it. I wouldn't even recommend doing it as an m/t.There's a reason there are a/t repair specialists. It's VERY hard precise work. Take it to an appropriate shop. I think even IPT would recommend you that.
A lot more than i need to, haha.Im buying a used trans, xfer, and rear. Then sending the trans out to get built. Then probably 300 on clutch, about 200 on master/slave and lines. Then i'm buying the jnz short throw, which is 150ish. So it's going to be up there. But still probably not as much...
jnztuning.com is the site. They are awesome guys. And yes, my build will happen when i'm back from school next summer. Full swap with a tre trans, 2600 (esque clutch), stock flywheel, and all new pedals and master/slave. (and short throw)It's going to be SWEEEET!
Thats exactly what i'm doing too. Slowly building up the parts to do the swap. That way i know i've got the best of the best and i'm not screwed because i've got a timeframe to do it this year. JNZ might have that stuff too honestly, but i'm sure another tuner can help you out from a parts car too.
It's turbulence of flow you have to worry about with this. It's like hollowing out a cat, the SAME principal applies here. Going big to small disrupts flow, plain and simple.
Personally, i'd go new now. Less worry, and less cost in the long run.JNZ will have EVERYTHING you need now that they're hooked into trademotion's oe mitsu stuff.
Most if not ALL yards probably have dsm's. It's just finding them.Honestly, there are for sure things i'd buy new.Clutch slave and master, All the lines, and probably the clutch and flywheel. I've heard that most swappers like to buy new clutch pedals too. Along with that get a JNZ short...
I will swap you my whole a/t set up, for you m/t. Haha.Whoops, read that wrong.a/t to m/t swaps have been done a lot. It's not hard at all, just time consuming.
That crazy evo is my buddy J-rod's car from Empire up here in midland. That thing is a SICK autox car, and probably the most fun ride i've ever had in an evo.
Not quite how it works my friend. On a turbo car 2.5" works for the first little bit of the DP because the exhaust gas is so hot. On most street power cars, it's not a big loss. But the way yours is, going big small, big small, is only hurting things by having to squeeze down then get thrown...
Knock is basically pre-detonation. Sometimes audible sometimes not. The 1g's use a sensor to "count" the times it happens, then adjusts timing if necessary.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe they were unseating because the agx is a stock length strut. So anything lower than 1" on intense handling circumstances will throw them off.Koni's on the other hand are a shortened shock/strut, built more for stuffer springs and lower cars.
He doesn't need anything for fuel. He has a manual ecu in the car now. I did the same thing and my car is fine.Get a logger and see if maybe you've got knock pulling timing. Also, try going to a manual fpr too. That helped me a lot. My car was a bit doggy because i was pushing too much...
The kit comes with a j-pipe, so that whole hotside section won't work with your sbr jpipe.Honestly you'd be better buying one of the piping kits with just a bunch of bends. Then fabbing it up yourself.
Someone probably RTV'd that thing on there. You should be able to get it off still, but if not, you can pull those lines. I did it just recently. Make sure you have pleanty of ras to catch what does come out. Then as SOON as they're loose, plug them with bolts or something so it doesn't leak...
I don't know. . . I have a friend thats making 550awhp on pump and 700+ on race and he drives his mom to lunch in it when she's in town. I don't know what kind of mileage he gets in it, but he's driving it from Midland to dsmshootout this year which is like 5 hours. He doesn't seem to have a...
What are you talking about? It's been proven that even for the first 36" or so that 2.5" is just fine. So having one section (o2 housing) instead of the whole thing would be even better.Look at the sheer # of people running stock ported 2g o2 housings and 3" exhausts, then tell me that the...
Make an adapter and clamp them, or take it to an exhaust shop, have them bend up the 2.75 and slip fit it to the 3" and clamp it. Or put flanges on each end and do it that way.
