I didn't have a VFAQ but I did have a tranny breakout for the internals. I did it in the garage with only a cheap ebay press and set of metric wrenches. I though it was cake as it took less than an hour to fix up.I no longer have the documentation but I'm sure someone on here does.
I'm getting very excited for this event. Just make sure your brakes are ready.... good pad, good fluid, good bleed.A guy needs good brakes to stop after the front straight.
Oh I know what you mean. To run the EVO at warp speed would set me back about a grand for the day. Those carbotech XP12s and NT01s are expensive!!!!That being said its the longest track in the US and a must do AT LEAST ONCE for a track enthusiast.
I'm signed up and ready to go. I'll see you there. BHFs is an excellent track because its balanced between horsepower and handling. Unlike Road America where horsepower is king. All groups will fill up before the actual date as this event provides more track time than most are willing to...
^ Pro what happened to WPS?I would love to go and I have the weekend open but I don't want to spend then $500 on brakes, tires, and race gas.I wouldn't mind taking someones spot if they break down. Then I wouldn't feel obligated to run the car at 100% all day every session.I'm...
Andy, do you plan to keep the water injection system? Chemical intercooling is far superior to a FMIC. Find some good smurf piss and stock up on it. Worked like a charm on my 98 and 03.
^^^ Very true and there's no way to tell whats what. Its important to get your E-fuel from the same place so you know the consistency. The other side effect is cold weather starting..... it tends to take more cranks to get it to fire.
I had a reply in this thread but someone deleted it?!?What I had said before was to measure the area you have to work with, basically figure out what size lens you will need. Then drive around some car lots and look for a style of light that might fit. For instance the avalanche parking...
There are a million different kinds of projectors. As for the lense, I would simply talk to Kurt and get some clear plexi glass. You can heat and bend or cut that stuff with household tools. You may even look at other vehicle ebay light housings to see if they might fit. For example the...
Get rid of the tinted front parking lights and put a clear lens in there with HID projectors maybe E55s behind the clear lense. I think that would be sick!!!http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y132/blaster3500/Picture023-1.jpg...
I am looking for other factory wheels that fit on an eclipse.I already know that:Mazda millenia
Mazda MX3/6
Mazda RX8
Probe GT
Mitsu EVOThe reason I am looking for this information is because I have some aftermarket wheels I am trying to sell and I want to list all vehicles they...
If you are serious about know the pressure you add a pressure gauge inline. However when tunning you dont really need to know the exact pressure. You calculate the expected size nozzle then increase or decrease pressure depending upon the performance results you have. If you sense its...
Probably not. My FPB28 felt like a 100 shot of nitrous. As the RPM's climb it gets harder for a small turbo to keep up with the motor. Sounds like you want a 50 trim.
I agree. Its hard to really feel the increase. It may just feel like its running strong.Fortuneatly I had a logger and could see the improvment in my 60-90 time. After 17PSI it is very noticable. With alchohol injection I tried 24PSI and the car just hauled major butt even over the...
I would say you are completely wrong in this statement. My T25 flowed 25LBS of air the FPB28 was flowing 36 at 20@ without cams. That well over a 100HP gain with the T28 not to mention instant spool with instant torque. The EVOIII16G only gives you more top end if you have top end...
You will see a difference but it wont be much. The T25 would heat the air up more making it prone to knock and retart of timing. The FPB28 wouldn't be working hard at all thus getting full timing all the time. That being said there's no reason not to run 17PSI on the FPB28.
Get your ECU chipped and forget all about the AFC.The DSMLink will do everything you need it to.As for the wideband, they are still very useful in tuning but odds are with the Link you will be tuning for Knock so a WB really isn't mandatory. With your mods you should be fine...
That was my take on it as well so I upgraded to 850cc injectors.....even though the car idles fine and still gets great mileage it was a tad more difficult to tune the long term fuel trims. I also had longer cranking time before the car would fire up. Medium sized injectors tend to be easier...
Well if you ask me 3" intercooler piping is pointless. Its just gonna take more time to fill those pipes up and it probably adds weight. But since you are hell bent on big @ss pipes then I suppose the accufab is a must.Either way that fuxxer is gonna rip!
You will need at a minimum 550cc injectors at 18PSI. However when I was running 20PSI my FPB 28 - 36LBS/MIN with 550cc injectors I was at over 100% injector duty cycle. So you should probably get a minimum of 650cc just to be safe.I know most people say all they want is XXXHP but...
Your poor drivetrain!!!As mentioned above I dont really think you need the Accufab TB.
I doubt the 1G would be a bottleneck at your power level. Also, I would review this link:http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=82160
I dicked around and it took about 2 hours.Tips: New oil line gasket and copper crush washers
An O2 sensor socket is a plus.
Have some line wrenches so you dont strip the oil lines.
Spray everything with pb blaster penetrating oil.
Have new coolant on hand to refill your car up when you...
People will argue which is better till their hair falls out.The Grand National and Turbo Buick guys seem to prefer alchohol and the DSM crowd tends to lean towards methanol. If you are interested in a slightly used kit. I have mine for sale. Email me: [email protected]
Um....no what I am saying is I picked up an additional 12LBS of air for a total of 36LBS on stock cams. The most I got on my T25 was 24LBS and I was running 36LBS on my FPB28.1LB = 11CHPNo boost controller is needed if you have the adjustable wastegate. I had mine set at 20 PSI via the...
When I moved from my t25 to my fpb28 I didn't notice much gain until I upped the boost. At 20psi I was flowing 12 MORE LBS/MIN on the B28 and that is about a 100WHP increase.I have two things that may help you see big gains. First thing is the adjustable actuator. The stock actuator tends...
Actually all pumps will pulsate to keep the pressure within a certain spec (120-140psi). When I am at lower PSI or running a smaller nozzle I can hear my pump click on and off slowly. At WOT with a 625cc nozzle its running at full tilt.I am actually about to start another project car. If...
Well if you can afford a little down time on your car.....you can send your T25 to forced performance and they will turn it into a FPB28.In my opinion....the forced performance big 28 is the hot ticket. Direct bolt on and you will pick up about 100HP over the T25.I was flowing 26LBS...
The Forced Performance Big28 will hit hard and flow about 36 LBS of air. Its a direct bolt on and will take you into the 12s if you can drive. The EVO3 B16G doesn't hit as hard down low but it pulls more up top. It is capable of 44LBS of air. In the end the price is about the same for...
The whole point of chemical intercooling is to intercool.Once you strart spraying fuel you aren't intercooling anymore.Once you start looking at octane boosting instead of intercooling you might as well look at running something designed specifically for fuel.Chemical...
Well I have tried a few different things.....methanol, alchohol, xylene, smurf piss, and straight water.I haven't tried putting straight race fuel in there. I am not so sure I like the idea of running highly flamable stuff through the cabin. I was uncomfortable just running xylene...
I'm in the same boat you are. Basically I love that my FPB28 feels like a 75 shot of nitrous but I wish it would pull in 4th gear like it does in 2nd gear. I think you will get that with any turbo you purchase right up to the point were you get traction limited in the lower gears. From all...
The device fluctuates the power to the pump to provide only a portion of the max flow. This happens very quickly...(its just like a progressive nitrous controller). I go from 10 psi to 20 psi in less than a second. The reviews from others are just as shining as mine.It all boost sensative...
Honestly if you want to really control your injection system do like I did and get the boost sensative progressive controller from snow performace. I have my spay start at 10PSI 25% the max value....its progressive and raises duty cycle till I hit 20PSI then it goes to 100% value. When running...
I'm not really sure what you yahoos are arguing about......Not very many DSM guys are gonna add an H2O system and not advance timing or boost unless they had knock issues to start with.Whether you use straight distilled water, alchohol, methanol, or xylene doesn't really matter. Try...
The GT30R and SCM32 are very similar.....I think the only difference is whether the bolt on to the factory exhaust manifold or not. The SCM32 is a 54trim but is listed as making less power than the SCM50. Most people with a 54trim say its a great middle of the road turbo but it doesn't really...
There are a few diffferent types of 20G's as well. After countless hours of searching I have found that the TD06H 20G is the most recommended 20G to get.The TDO6H will spool faster than a GREEN and still move 48LBS of air. Most of these are at full spool 24PSI by 3700. They get partial...
