It's an EVO 2 input shaft, due to it having 20 teeth on it for 2nd gear.Tim I sent you a few pics the other day to your [email protected] email. I talked to Jon who said it was a EVO 2.
I recently picked up a used GVR4 1st gear and input shaft for a rebuild on a 2nd gen AWD trans.Putting it all together I found that the bearing plate would not line up with the input/intermediate shafts. If memory serves me correct the 1st gear should have one less tooth then the stock one...
If it where my block I would be ok with that clearance. I would also have gotten rid of the oil squirters. Are you keeping them for a reason? Also you may find that when you start trying to bend the oil squirters, they will break.
If you get them would you mind taking a pic of them? Hopefully they have an oil hole for the wrist pin. Also check for machining marks on both ends, where they would have balanced to lightest.
From your post I am guessing this is your first 4G63 build. I would see if you could locate someone in your area that has built these motors to help guide you. It is really not all that hard to assemble one, just somethings that need to be absolutely spot on. Be mindful of your tolerances as...
That part number does not appear to be for a stroker application. The only way to use that part number would be to call Wiseco, give them that part number and tell them you need the wrist pin moved up 6 mm.What I would suggest though is get in contact with the orignal builder to get what...
Oh ya, the valvetrain will be something to think about when that time comes. :)I am going to go with steel rods on this one as I have never delt with aluminum rods. Wiseco stroker pistons, I've had good luck with them so far on the couple of motors I have done.
Thanks for the R&R company, I did not know about them. Funny thing I received a PM about some R&R rods. This build does not seem to be a popular thing. Like you mentioned there are very few, if any, venders that have LRs on the shelf.
To pass the winter months I decided to do a destroked 6 bolt 2.4L. What options, for rods, are there when doing a LR 2.1? I am leaning strongly toward the 162mm rods. From what I have found so far the options are not allot.
Hortanica:Sounds like your Alt. Is working based on the voltages you posted. I would look into the battery. With nothing attached to it the battery should be around 12.6 volts. You may have a bad cell or something is drawing the charge off when the car is not running. If you want list...
I would choose the piston then have a competent machine shop check your piston to wall clearances, based on the pistons you choose. Different pistons have different PTW clearances. Also like mentioned the machinist will make sure the bore is perfectly round. The horse power you are aiming for...
Found this on Evom evolutionm.net - View Single Post - Found Thermo Fan Switch Conditions was wondering if this might be another way to control fans.A member on Evom(Logic) said the 9417 and 9653 have the same addresses. I patched my rom with it and was able to get values.I'm wondering...
Danl:Do you have or know of a definition or address(fan control) for the 9653 rom?I have a couple feelers out on Evom to some of the gurus, have not heard back from them yet.
Do they make a lower temp. sensor for the radiator? (To turn the fans on.)Or could I use the evo ecu, I believe pin #21 with a relay to control the fans? It looks like the #21 pin goes high(resistance) when you activate it with Evoscan.Would it be possible to power the coil, on the...
I saw a post by KMV I believe saying if you are 22 mm from your stock calipers to the spokes on your rims you should be ok. Double and triple checking mine I come up with about 17-18 mm. Would I be ok with a 10 mm spacer or should I go with a 5 mm? The rims are 17". The offset is actually 40...
Well I got my front and rear Evo 9 calipers for the wifes 97'. I am having series doubt that they will fit under the Enkei RSF-2 rims. What is the publics thought on using spacers for the rims? From the searching I did I came up with a +42 offset.

I'm probably going to get flamed for this but I stopped running an oil cooler years ago.My 92' has not had one for a long time and the 97', I got last year, does not have one after I put the 2.3 in it.I use a good oil and change at sooner intervals. So far, so good, knock on wood.:D
Another thing to watch for with the oil pump gear is blocking the drain hole on the bottom of the front case. This happens when installing the oil pan and putting to much RTV on, which blocks the drain. Oil will then leak out of the seal because it has no where to drain.
You will need the Tactrix cable and ECUflash. EvoM has a write-up on installing the ecu in a first gen.. There is also a post as to which periphery bits to turn off.On a side not, be sure to run ecu unlocker in case your ecu is locked. I recently picked up another ecu for my 92' and...
I installed that same kit on the 97' about a two months ago. I am happy with it.I went to the local hardware store and got a piece of flat stock to fab-up a mounting bracket. I think ETD has an add on E-bay somewhere for there own nice polished aluminum bracket for like $48.00 dollars.
At this point whats done is done, and you still have to re-attach the arm back to the chassis. With that said I would first try to see if it where possible to get on the back side to maybe get some vise grips on any part of the bolt that may be sticking through. If that did not work I would...
I'm setting up a patch harness for the 92'.I'm not sure what is going to happen to the series 1 AEM EMS systems. Also EVOscan has some features that AEMlog does not. i.e. "Map Trace" :)
I used the guide on Magnus motorsports site to put a 6 bolt in my '97. The one page tells how to build the harness for the 1st gen. CAS.<<<<<Running 9653 in a '97 with 6 bolt swap.

Thanks for the replys guys, wind storm came through the other day an tore some power lines down so I was not able to work on this until this evening. What I have done/tried so far. The light that is lit on the Belkin is actually called "link" not power like I mentioned before. When I hit...
I am trying to log a AEM wideband through the hyper terminal on my laptop. I am using a Belkin USB-Serial adaptor. I have confirmed with an ohm test the correct pins for #2 and #5 on the serial cable. Pin 2 is connected to the blue wire on the AEM and pin 5 to ground. Com port is set...
