Nice, I'm very optimistic of the potential of the JB/Precision converter. A local buddy of mine bought one, but it will be a little while until he finishes his build, I'm contemplating pulling the trigger on one later this year. The Bradco unit I currently have is a little tight and can be...
Amazing build man, great work and thanks for sharing! Are you still running the Sinister speed 8" converter? I thought I saw you trying to sell it a little while back?
Edit: Mods at the time of first video:
Stock 6 bolt bottom end and head, manley single springs, BC280 cams, FRH manifold. BWS366 turbo, auto trans built by me w/welded center diff, e85, 1650 injectors, two walbro 255 pumps around 27-28psi of boost, oh and Werewold speed density tuning software...
There are still quite a few of us around.. I think the local section of the board is really dead due to all the people using social media now-a-days. I still use tuners on the daily, but mostly just reading and lurking. Do a seach for "NLAND DSM" on FB, it's mostly the Inland Empire, but we...
It should definitely not be split like that but it happens, I had the same thing in my own transmission. Here is a picture of how a good one looks, it's the only pic I had on my phone at the moment, but I can take some closer shots when I get home if you'd like.
Spal fans, don't waste your time with the cheap ebay junk. I drove my car many times this past summer when it was 100° outside and did not overheat, coolant temps would fluctuate around 195°-205° in stop & go city driving. I use the stock thermo-switch to activate the fans as well as a manual...
This is an update to my original post, thanks to imageshack for not hosing pictures free anymore :/1. Remove the 6 bolts holding the center diff cover. Be very patient getting the cover/bearing race off of the trans, it fits very precisely into the case. You will need to slowly work each...
I've been wondering the same thing. I'm currently running an in tank 450 and feeding an inline 044. I appear to be running out of fuel at around 36 psi of boost indicated by 90% IDC. I'm tempted to buy another 450 to replace the 044 to see if I can make both 450's fit in tank and run in...
If you're putting it in your 2G, you should definitely use Precision Industries for your converter.http://converter.com/http://kiggly-racing.com/6-bolt_kit
There is quite a bit of information out there actually, a lot of it is on the ecmlink forums.C-dub's "grudge car" (the white 1G) had a thread here a few years ago that was pretty informative. At that time, it was running a bradco converter with an IPT built 1G trans and a custom 8.8 rear...
**EDIT**Thought I would ad a couple things based off some feedback I've received from a fellow member.Along with the parts I already listed above, you're going to need a new Pump Gasket and possibly a new pump O-ring.I didn't have to replace the o-ring on mine, but YMMV. The pump gasket...
I've ran a cheapo $25 gates timing belt on my last two setups, great quality and never had an issue. You can get the same kit that you linked to above for $40-$45 less if you order the parts individually from www.rockauto.comGates timing component kit, Part # TCDK167A, $65.79
Gates auto...
Nice numbers Keltalon, been watching your progress. Damn, I would have thought the -6 lines would be at about full capacity on E85, good shit. You still rocking a Walbro 450 and BAP? What injectors are you running?
Bringing this thread back from the dead as I happen to come across a thread on the link board. This radiator will actually fit in a 2g, here's a thread with a couple pictures in it:http://www.ecmtuning.com/forums/showthread.php?t=73910&highlight=honda radiator
I'm not sure about the reverse clutch pack, not sure why anyone would want to upgrade reverse ;)If you mean the front clutch, I did a tech article about it a while back here...
Be done with what? Those only replace the rubber bushing/washers that bolt the carrier bearing under the car. If you have worn out carrier bearings, these won't make any bit of difference. You'll have a more rigid mounted, still broken carrier bearing.
How to make a foxbody fast? Dump 302 and put in a 4G63! :thumb:Great job on the build, looks like you guys have it dialed in pretty well now. Can't wait to see what else it's capable of.
There's 6 bolts for the auto transmission tcase!!! Quit prying on it before you break something! Take your time and look closely, you'll see all six of them.Edit:
Here's a picture, I marked the bolt holes in red:
Have you tried spraying it out to the 60' mark or most of the way through 1st gear? That's what I do with my car. I have my 2-step (ignition cut) set at 3600rpm and only build about 7-8psi of boost on the line, also have the timing pin grounded to the brake pedal with base timing set to 2*...
Fun times. You can do it man! Your car is freaking fast, 131mph is moving! If you got the 60' down into the low 1.6 range that would have been a 10.8X pass I bet.
Went to the local street legal event at the California speedway this past weekend. Damn it is nice having a 1/4 mile track again, the CA speedway's dragstrip has been closed for about 2 years.Anyhow, I was able to run a new personal best on Saturday! Car is on a stock restalled converter...
I know this is old, sorry for bringing it back from the dead. I just wanted to correct this post as the part number for a 6 bolt main bolt is wrong. For future search results, the part number is: MD000235
I know it can be done, but I've never done it personally. I remember reading a few threads on it a long time ago because I was going to do the same thing. But I gave up because I ended up sourcing a 4 bolt auto rear.I've seen a few threads on the ecmlink forums that say only the ring...
I used the boot replacements from Napa last time I had a torn one. It was the drivers side, outer boot. It fit just like the OEM unit, they aren't super cheap, almost the price of a replacement axle. But in my case, I wasn't about to run a $50 autozone axle in my 500+ hp car. OEM axles hold...
This is a fake post right? A joke? Nobody is really this god damned stupid. If the op is really this retarded, someone ban his IP, we don't need idiots like this clogging up the forums with bullshit.
Damn, so JE has their "Critical Inspection Lab" for QC on their finished products, impressive.Wiseco has some guy that dunks 1 in 10 forgings in a bucket of water to "check for defects." No wonder so many wiseco slugs crack and fall apart. LOLHaha, just kidding, in Wiseco's defense...
Well since I'm hitting it with a 75 shot, it's not difficult to get up to the two step, but I can see the logic in your question if you weren't using spray to stall up on the line. I have my base time set at 2* instead of 5* too. I have my two step set to 3800 (3600 on street tires) on the...
Sure I'll PM you some more info about my setup.I've seen quite a few people have issues with the fuel cut type 2-step on the autos. From my experience, the RPMS drop too much in between each cut cycle, which sometimes leads to a bogged launch, or since the stock ecu controlled 2 Step uses...
I've been running this same pump on my auto for a few months now, it works perfectly. I had to put a second one way check-valve in the line to the vacuum pump, I used one of those .45 cent units from US plastics. I mounted the pump using a big hose clamp and clamped it to the rear roll stop...
Yep, had an engine fail when the pin pulled out of the piston, wasn't pretty at all. All 3 of the remaining pistons were cracked around the pin boss. I have another used set of wisecos and the pins are super tight in their bores and at least two of the pistons are cracking around the pin boss...
That's right, you get to it from inside the trunk. Read the how-to on the VFAQ site, the gives you tips on breaking the stock fuel line loose so you don't damage it. Also, a walbro 450 is way overkill for 450hp. Just run a single walbro 255, cheaper and easier to install anyway. Seriously...
