  1. How can I quiet my wastegate dump tube?

SuperTrapp 344-1705 - SuperTrapp Disc-Only Mufflers - summitracing.comThis is what I have used in the past, its an option not too many people explore, and now the secret is out. Just be sure to weld it on, it comes with a clamp, but it will fall off if you don't weld it on, TRUST ME.
  2. HX-35 oil return from theturbotrader.com leaking heavily.

DO NOT USE TEFLON TAPE!!!! That stuff will get into the oil and possibly clog the turbo, it is always a better idea to use the Teflon liquid, and use it sparingly, you do not need to use the entire tube on the fitting. The threads on that piece that you are talking about are tapered pipe...
  3. Old guy needs advice on these new "gt" turbos

I would say the S258 may be what you are looking for. They spool fast and make great power, it is light years ahead in technology from the old 57trim.
  4. Holset Turbos, PART 3

I don't think they will throw away the tooling for it, but these housings must not have been selling to make it worth their while. So if there was enough demand for the product I am sure they would machine more. But their BW turbos are doing very well so I wouldn't be surprised if they decided...
  5. Holset Turbos, PART 3

The BEP bolt on housings are basically all gone. A few other vendors may or may not have a few sitting around, but BEP themselves have no more .55 housings left. There is one or two .70 ar v band housings. So if you guys need one of the .70 T3 housings give me a buzz.
  6. Holset Turbos, PART 3

You keep making a lot of assumptions, I never said I used an SAFC? I had an ECU+ and a ECM flash.
  7. Holset Turbos, PART 3

I am not sure what you mean by questioning my tuning skills but I am not sure what the HX-35 can max out at as I haven't personally ran or tuned one. But I was talking about, an HX-40, which I have PERSONAL experience with. At the time I couldn't get any worthwhile results in turning up the...
  8. Holset Turbos, PART 3

  9. Holset Turbos, PART 3

I have a few different bracket and WGA combinations, just let me know what you are looking for.
  10. Holset Turbos, PART 3

Like GORBS88 mentioned that exact turbo on my evo made 521 WHP, but that was maxed out, I couldn't squeeze anything else out of that housing. If you want to exercise that turbo to its full potential you need to stick it in the new BEP .70 A/R T3 housing, add about 10 more PSI and I would expect...
  11. Holset Turbos, PART 3

That was pretty quick! Let me know how it compared to your old Holset. That turbo served me well, but I am on to bigger and better things!
  12. Holset Turbos, PART 3

What are you going with now?
  13. Which Turbo...

I think you should go with at least a 50 trim to achieve your goals. Other options would be a S256 or S258, also the 57 or 60 trim turbos are good choices as well. If you are interested in a 50 trim, I have one for sale.
  14. Holset Turbos, PART 3

I may have sold the last new HX-40 BEP bolt on housing in existence at the moment, unless BEP decides to cast more. I do have one used turbine housing set up for an internal that would need a helicoil and a sandblast to make it like new again. But don't give up hope there are plenty of other...
  15. Holset Turbos, PART 3

Exactly, what does this guy want full spool at idle? Don't people know that if you get a big flowing compressor to spool too soon all you get is a bunch of compressor surge! That's useful.....LOL
  16. Holset Turbos, PART 3

If you wanted to upgrade from the 50 trim I would recommend switching to the HX-40 if you can find a good deal on one.
  17. upgrading from FP T28?

The M trim flows 38 Lbs/min I think, so you would be pressed to squeeze 300-350 to the wheels out of it and thats maxed. The V-trim would be a better choice if you are looking to go that route.
  18. Forced Performance 18g - td06sl2 question????????

It really isn't that hard to drill and tap the compressor housing if you are concerned about splicing into another source. But if you do not have the tools available or do not want to drill the housing and are still concerned about splicing the housing, I think atp sells a quicktap which pushes...
  19. BEP 46 or 50 trim?

Does anyone still use either of these turbos? Dinosaurs......;)
  20. upgrading from FP T28?

If you are looking for over 400 HP some good streetable set ups are 50-tirm, S256 for a bit more potential than a 50-trim or an S258 beyond that.
  21. have scm6152e, what to upgrade too? My goals inside

I say if you want to achieve your goals easily you should definitely take a look at the BW S366, these are really beginning to pick up popularity in our market. They are already huge with the V8 guys and Honda's. BTW if you switch to an AEM EMS you will not need a P&H box, many people run...
  22. Greddy Type-S BOV question?

Tial makes a BOV that comes in red.
  23. BEP 46 or 50 trim?

Spool is mostly determined by the turbine side, so if you select the same turbine wheel and turbine housing A/R the spool will be the same.
  24. Welding Flapper Doors

I welded one shut, I tig welded it.
  25. bep 50 trim vs pte 50 trim

A major difference between the two is in the turbine side, the BEP turbo will be in a stainless steel turbine hot side. This material retains heat better and will improve the efficiency of the turbo a bit, plus it can be polished for a great look.
  26. Holset Turbos, PART 3

The hybrid HX-35/40 was built for those who were looking for better spool up with more potential than the standard HX-35. But the HX-40 works so well that I am not sure if the few hundred RPM spool loss of the HX-40 wheel is worth the trade off of the spool. The larger HX-40 turbine has...
  27. BEP 46 or 50 trim?

    check your pm's
  28. Holset Turbos, PART 3

    From me :p
  29. BEP 46 or 50 trim?

Also, pushing the 46-trim to the 12's will be sort of tough, but with a 50-trim it should be a breeze with the correct supporting mods.
  30. BEP 46 or 50 trim?

I have a new 50-trim BEP bolt on internally gated turbo that I can let go for a good deal. It was supposed to go on my 1g but I sold it with the V-trim that I had put on it a while back.
  31. BEP 46 or 50 trim?

The 46-trim is a much smaller wheel, somewhere around 36-38 lbs/min, where the 50 trim flows 49 lbs/min, so it really depends on your power goals and supporting mods. The 46 trim is slightly larger than a 16g ( 350-375 HP ) where the 50 trim will make ( 400-450 HP )
  32. Holset Turbos, PART 3

My understanding has always been is that a turbo with more compressor blades will be more efficient at lower boost levels, a compressor with fewer blades will be more efficient at higher boost. Now where the three variants of the hx-40 sit, I have no idea as there have been no official maps...
  33. Holset Turbos, PART 2

I have one, it is a Pro HX-40 in an internally gated BEP DSM housing. This turbo on 28 PSI made 521 WHP on my 05 Evo. It was on the car about 5 months (maybe 3000 miles). But as most people know, these turbos are on trucks in the multiple hundreds of thousands of miles, so mileage is not too...
  34. Holset Turbos, PART 2

FYI, I was able to make 521 WHP on my evo with the BEP .55 a/r housing. It wasn't totally maxed as I was only at 28-29 PSI on the internal gate. But if you are looking to make 550+ HP then it would be probably best if you went with the .70ar housing. I will be switching to this housing with...
  35. Vtrim turbo took a shit

Yep, the turbo sucks, don't look any further than there. There is no way that the oil line got clogged, you didn't change your oil enough, some foreign object was ingested into the turbo. Simply Bullseye turbos suck... You really shouldn't be doing the car thing because you don't understand...
  36. extrude honed...

You are absolutely right that it is not about making the hole bigger, but it is also proven that altering the runner can decrease performance.
  37. extrude honed...

You have to love the poor responses on these boards. Extrude hone does not simply clean up and smooth the ports. They can remove as much material as you wish without altering the design of the runner.
  38. Hx35w

I would only recommend using a restrictor if you actually needed it; if the turbo smokes or you have extremely high oil pressure.
  39. Hx35w

Bullseye Power has a complete housing and wastegate set up for bolting up an HX-35 to a DSM. Also the Bullseye Power 38mm Internal Wastegate works great and has made 650 HP.
  40. Which Turbo Should I Get [merged] What Turbo

We also carry about every combination you could want in a DSM housing. If you would like to discuss some combinations please give me a call or shoot me an email.
  41. Place to order my Bullseye Housing hx35

Did you not get my email? I sent it the same day you emailed me about the housing.
  42. FMIC question 1g

The MachV Engine management I think you are talking about is the ECU+. It is an excellent unit and comes with a MAF translator built in so you don't have to spend any extra money buying a ramchargers MAF-T, you would if you bought the DSM link. Also you have to have an EPROM ECU to use...
  43. Bullseye V-Trim vs. Bullseye 57 Trim

I think that the V-trim would suit your needs very well. The V-trim is a great street compressor because it works well at lower boost levels. But I have to say that both are great choices and either would work well with your set up. If you have any more questions feel free to PM me.
  44. Internal vs External- What Fits Me?

If you have a properly sized and functioning internal wastegate, then there is no difference. The bullseye power 38mm internal gate has proven itself by maintaining rock solid boost with no creep on 600+ HP vehicles.
  45. Holset Turbos, PART 2

I believe the Evo is going to be a good reference for an average person with a good turbo set up. The motor is stock exept for cams. Other than that it has a Walbro 255 pump, HKS 280 cams, FIC 880 cc injectors, ECU+ engine management, GRE Performance FMIC, Samco IC hose kit, Custom GRE...
  46. Holset Turbos, PART 2

FYI guys and gals, I have the HX-40 on the shop Evo finally and it runs GREAT!!! I just got it up and running today so data will follow shortly behind. I test drove it and I was very impressed on the response and power this turbo puts out on NO tune! I was reaching 24 PSI on pump gas at 4200...
  47. help me decide with choices of new turbo.

The T04B V-Trim will easily meet your goals while keeping excellent street manors. The V-trim is capable of making 450 HP so it gives you more room to grow than the 20G will. It flows 48Lbs./min where the 20G typically flows 44 Lb/min. max. And best of all it can be had for under your...
  48. Holset Turbos, PART 2

It's not really a part that I advertise. I keep a batch of them in stock for people that need them. I would think that a .080-.085 restrictor would do the trick.
