If you want them to look bad, call the news stations. One will pick it up and when it hits tv there will be a quick responce. Plus if you say your broke because of all this a lawyer may pic it up for free just on publicity. Best of luck bud.
The draw back to that is it is not heat, oil or gas resistant. In the directions it should have mentioned something about this and keeping over a foot away from exhaust. But you do have a sharp car.
I have found that bigger turbos are alot quieter than small ones. The slower turning at idle is do to a bigger A/R and heaver wheels. If I had to guess,if mine was not ball bearing it may not even turn at all at idle:)
:thumb: Thanks guys for the replys. I dont think the thermotech is big enough. Chances are the silver one from mvp will be what I go with. Thanks to all that have replied.
With a inline filter you should be fine with it on. A well built motor should not have hardley any shavings in it. I usually change oil around 5 times in the first 1000 miles. I wouldnt bother changing the turbos for start up.Not just another guy throwing advise with nothing, my 4202 will...
I havent heard of this, but a guy at the local AZ said there $14 shocks were as good as koni's. I trust there judgment as far as I can trough them. I do know they went to non-tri-metal setup. I ordered a calico coated acl's from SBR at a good price but took a while to get them as they was on...
The Diaper as reffered is just a insolated wrap for the turbo exhaust housing. Thanks Unklesam for the find I emailed them to see if it would fit. I hope to get this and find a 4in stainless u-bend to finish off the down pipe then I will feel I am making progress. Thanks again.
I am looking for a insolated turbo diaper for a 42R exhaust housing. I have looked with no sucess. Any on know where to get these at a decent price let me know. Thanks in advance
So its like the inducer/exducer squared, Got ya. It just kinda sounded like you was saying they all have the same mm wheel in them. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
Yea, it will behind the glove box. About the only good place I have to put it, plus it will stay cooler there. This by far is nothing new for WTA intercoolers. I am going to run a top mount to keep all piping to a min.
I figure there will be a differance, and the BB turbo was not a big deal before, but I figure there is a differance between a smaller turbo/wheels and bigger turbo/wheels on spool. I am going to have to cut part of the glove box out maybe all but the door to get it to fit in the dash. But I...
I think you may be off on this some. I know there are all kind of trims, mine is only listed as a 53trim, but has a 102mm wheel in it. And I know not many turbos have that wheel in it. Would be nice if it caught a vendor eye so they can elaborate on this.
All I can say is I am sold on BB turbos. My turbo arived today well packaged and as promiced. This big monster will turn ALOT with just a small flick of the fingers . Thanks Glenn for the turbo, and everyone else that has chimed in on the thread.:rocks:
May also look into a gt 37R or a 40R. I will also agree with everyone here, I would spend my money else places before you ditch off the turbo. Best of luck.
I know who that quote came from, Ive heard both good and bad about them along with about everyother shop. I throw out alot of stuff i hear do to the fact I feel alot of ppl installing the parts are not capable of doing it properly. ON NOTE, With those alumium rods are they streetable...
Since you are doing so well with the HP ratings, you dont happen to know what the hp rating is for the oliver billitt rods are do you? I just hope they will hold up till I do the alumium rods in the other motor. Thanks in advance.:thumb:
PhatTSI, I called them and they was out,atp was out,FP was out, and the people that was sapposed to call back never did, Glenn was well in contact, kept me updated, and cut me a helluva deal.As far as lag, I dont see why it wont spool@6000 rpm, and it is a street/strip car. For the track...
Do us all a favor. When you get it running, keep it at about 8psi till you learn to drive it. That way we dont have to learn you or a family was scraped off the asphalt. Not trying to sound like an ass, but if you dont know how to put a turbo on I highly bet you dont know how to drive a built...
My old G-tec was of by a .1 at the track and a few mph. But a good tune device non the less. I currently have a gt2 timer but nothing good to test with. I would say the hp reading is somewhat close for your car, it may sound low but 177whp is more than you imagine.
I got mine from ebay, a company called a1auto I think. After buying it I called to try to figure out which carpet it was, and they kindly sent me 4 small samples and answered all questions. I think it was like 125-145 shipped. Hope that helps.
Whoa Whoa Whoa. I'm glad I seen this. I was actually getting up to call to order my clevite bearings. What I need to know is what bearings are being recomended. Not trying to hi-jack the thread, but what vendors/guys with high hp cars recommend and run. I plan to run mid-high 40's psi and rev...
I have found alot of the 4294's just no one has the 4202. As far as nitrous goes, It will have a small shot for the street. At the track I will launch from a 2step. Its no longer will be much of a street car, but will go out on saturday night thats about it. I hope to get full boost out of it...
I called PTE and they want $2500, thats out of my price range. FP has my name and # but has not called back, I just figured my bussiness isnt important, or they dont have it. I think I have found one and 2 people have contacted me about it. I have tried everywhere and no one has this turbo. I...
I still havent heard back from any one.:sosad: FP said they would call back if they located me one or not and I have not heard from them, nore has a few other places e-mailed me back. Guess no one wants my money.
I have heard of high hp cars on stock drivetrain do fine. Alot of it is getting it out of the whole smoothly and slipping it. Now if you want to launch at 6000+ rpm's on DR or slicks, you may want a good built tranny and axles throughout. I myself would rather put a clutch in once a year...
Sorry for missing that, but yea, that turbo has out grown the mitsu mani/and exhaust housing. As of now FP is trying to get ahold of garrett to see if they will drop ship me one, can't get any reply from full race, and no answer at AMS but i will try back. Precision has them but want 2500...
Thanks for the find. I really need that one in ball bearing though. It will spool slow enough being ball bearing being that big. But thanks for the heads up.
Just wondering if anyone knows where to get one? I called ATP and the said a week to two weeks. But they are also only $1995 there. If anyone can match this I will buy from them. Thanks In advance.
There are a few differnt places that have these. I know jackson machine has some @$500. And I recently found these and will be buying them for my RACE motor.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=8041558544&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AITI think if your not...
Have you checked the turbo to see if its trashed??? I would guess no boost and oil smell would come from here. Not to sound like an A$$, But I would recomend you taking it to a mechainic that would have a little better clue as to whats going on. At this point I know you will need a motor...
streetraceboi, I would say when your crank was polished it put it out of spec. You may have to go with a new crank enless you like rebuilding quite often. As far as balancing goes, I allways recomend it if you have what little it cost to do. I will not build a motor thats not...
