I'm sorry I thought it was the egr. I guess it's the charcoal canister. I'm gonna remove all lines on the bottom of the car and block off the holes on the canisterThanks again
David
long story short I had to pull my gas tank and it appears my egr is located there. My question is what can I block off and remove??? Here is the top of the egr...Thanks in advance
David
ive pulled heads off of damn near every single year model and ive never seen a headstud thats on my 99 gst. its not the standard allen head bolt. its a stud that has a 12 point head. ive tried everything from 6 point to 12 point 12,13, 1/2, ad 7/8 and all want to round the bolt. is there some...
i tried to green scratchy it and i didnt have any luck. im going to tear her down and get it all taken care of. boooo for having to invest more money...
thanks for the advise. its what ill probably end up doing that. do you think i should just go ahead and reorder some new rings too? i dont exactly know how to look at see if they are bad...
this is the third block i have bought in the last year that has ended up being bad. it looks like it has been recently rebuilt and has been sitting around for a bit as i examed it during tear down. so i guess what im getting at is this surface rust enough to make it burn oil. or ill the rings...
on a hx40, 32psi, 2.0, bc280 cams, ported head, and 100% meth injection with a m10 nozzle i was seeing around 80% idc at 8.5k with percision 880cc injectors. i would suggest 950-1000cc injectors if you plan on running the 40 FORSURE...
i have never personally done this but have seen it done. it really doesnt surprise me with the way the mechanics industry is setup. ive pulled cars on the rack a few times with this done...
im glad you and i are on the same page ;). your setup seems (to me) perfect for what your goals are! i look forward to seeing how yourset up does and i hope it doesnt run out of steam up top. it will be interesting to see forsure. i know its going in a gs-t with ultimate goals of going awd. i do...
thanks for everyones response! ive tuned a car the other day with a hta68 a couple months back and fell in love with the turbo.what im really trying to get at is whats a good street setup to run with a hta68 and a 2.3 stroker. i would have went with a 2.4 if i didnt already have a 6 bolt 2.0...
my biggest fear is building another track car to drive on the street. ive already built a bep hx40 6bolt 1g awd. it was fun at the strip but horrible to DD! I want a turbo/cam selection that will give me quick spool and maximize power to 7.5k. i dont want to spin ridiculous of rpms to create...
i have a goal of around 400hp with TQ numbers the same or higher. i tried researching a little bit but no one seems to test strokers with smaller turbos for really fun street cars! my thoughts behind it is that the hta68 will easily hit my HP goals and hold peak power till a 7.5k redline. here...
first off thanks for the help and quick replies!i took a step forward but im still having a few issues....1.so i can get ecuflash to work now and it appears i have ceddy mods flashed. im now having some issues pulling the stock rom. its giving me some sort of error code i cant remember...
im having a hard time getting ecu flash to work. evo scan works perfect but i cant say the same for ecu flash. it keeps saying an error code when i try to read the factory rom or flash it.any help would be appreciated.
thanks for the response man! im definetly going to home dept racing and going to pick some up. keep up the good work. its good to know that there are more people like myself that are willing to put in the research, time, and effort into modding their cars like myself.
first off great build man. i constantly find myself looking at this thread for motivation and advise.but on to business... can you post some more pics of that shroud you made around the intercooler and fmic???? im wanting to do the same thing but having a hard time figuring out what you...
this is a really weird issue because i still have a/c and my car doesn't over heat at hwy speeds. are you sure you don't have any coolant leaks? is your timing set correctly? how many times have you burped the system? if all the listed above is fine i would say your radiator is partially clogged...
you have alot of stuff going on all at once. personally i think you definetly need a afpr, and wideband. i also think your pushing the limits of pump gas. have you ran a log through dsmlink yet????
i just got done installing my apexi avcr and everything seems to be working right as far as boost control is concerned but for some reason my tps isn't reading correctly (reads 100% and goes down as i hit the gas) and my rpms aren't anywhere close to where they need to be. does anybody have any...
They look awesome forsure. does anyone have a clue on what is needed to run these wheels on a 2g????? i need to know whats the widest tire with a drop and spacers required.
brining back the dead....god i feel so dumb looking at my post from 3 years ago lol. alright with my 1g awd with 5mm wheel spacers these wheels fit just fine with the sportline springs. the tire size was 225/50/16. i never got around to getting wider. i did have HUGE issues with snapping the...
did you just preform a 6 bolt swap or something? or was the car running prior to not getting any spark????my addition to this thread is your power transistor and coil pack properly grounded? Ive seen on some 2gs that sometimes they wont spark without being grounded while others run fine.so...
i didnt respray it white again because i didnt want to have to shades of white so close to each other. it would have been pretty hard to match with rattle cans. i also only had the motor out of the car for a few days and was bored while i was waiting. i didnt feel like getting brake fluid...
my car is FWD so weight in the front would be a good thing. i cant see it adding more than 3-5lbs to the front. im also pretty sure its not a fire hazard either. its black and as to withstand the florida sun beating down on it for 10 to 12 hours a day.on a side note tho its saying its very...
thanks for the compliments guys. the whole project took less than 1 day start to finish. i think it like 20 dollars a can for the roll on beliner stuff at oriley auto parts and 10 dollars for the roll on kit. for all the parts you can reach you just dab with a paint brush. it took like seriously...
dibs on being the first HAHA. im going to finish up the front next time i pull my radiator. i was really pressing to see if the motor i had gotten was any good.
dont get me wrong now. the car looks good at the angles i took the pics. i really hate to say my cars a bucket but its definetly not the nicest 2g. im working with a budget and it definetly helps clean things up.thanks man :)
okay i have always wanted to do this because of the fact that Ive always wanted a engine bay i could work around. something durable, easy to clean/touch up, and looks half way decent. i personally think its "unique" i have never seen this done before in any other engine bay and i thought i would...
alright i finally had a chance to charge my dead battery and try swapping the firing order around. it sounds, to me, like it was trying to start so i started opening the throttle body to get air in her. well whenever i did that the starter sounded like it was getting voltage taken away from it...
hey guys, i have 95gst im trying to run a 98 programable ecu. i have already switched the wires at the ecu, and my plug wires to 3-4-1-2 (i think thats it) do i also need to swap my injector plugs also???? my car is only running on 2 cylinders and im trying to make sure i have my ecu hooked up...
the starter turns the motor over. im starting to get really confused because im getting spark (looks good but cant tell if its enough) on all 4 cylinders. im getting fuel pressure and the ecu is telling the injectors to fire. its got 12v to each wire that runs to the plugs of the injectors...
