Time for a dumb question. I need to do the kiggly mod to my trans. I see their diagram but it doesn't do a good job of identifying which connectors I'm supposed to be looking at.Can anyone point out which two connectors they are referring to?I've also been deleting a lot stuff...
Roll cage install got pushed back a week so decided to start tearing into this thing.Over the weekend I got the ECMLink V3 setup and going. Also got the wideband installed. Played around on sunday and got a decent base tune going (kinda pointless but I wanted to learn the software). Found...
It is a dip there. Looks like it should flow decent with that manifold. We'll see in a couple weeks I guess.
If I end up changing anything, it will most likely be the turbo and the next will have a true open housing rather than divided.I'm thinking the PTE 6266 would be a nice option, and...
Here are some pics of the turbo and manifold. Looks like the exhaust side of the turbo has been ported/knife-edged. Parts look and feel like great quality.Hoping to get the wideband installed today, and tomorrow the car goes off to be caged.
Also worth mentioning, I got my fuel purchased. Ended up with a 55gal drum of Renegade pro e112.
The pump e85 around here is only ~e70 right now. This stuff is consistent and is cut with a leaded racing fuel which puts its octane rating around 112.
Got a good deal from a buddy who's a dealer...
Are you against the FIC 1800s for their part throttle driveability or because of their all-out performance?I've got a nitrous setup ready to go in the car for spooling. As for shifting, I purchased a B&M pro shifter that I plan to wire via the Kiggly mod. Also sending my converter off for...
I realize you're not a fan of the HX40/35 hybrid that I got, just wondering what your thoughts are on the garrett GT4088r? It was presented as a trade offer for something else that I'm selling locally. Currently has a t4 1.06 exhaust housing on it, but it appears that ATP offers a T3 0.89...
Still accumulating parts! Here's what I've gotten since last update:BC 280 cams
BC springs/titanium retainers
Magnus intake manifold
SD wiring harness
NGK 7 plugs
Pulled my ecu in preparation for the v3 install, and found that I have a NON-Eprom ECU. Great.I'm on the hunt for the correct ecu, but it's got me thinking. By the time I spend the money on an eprom ecu and get it socket, I'm going to be close to the cost of a few AEM systems that I've found...
Good to hear. The guy I got it all from works at a big name dsm shop, so I felt pretty good about the quality of the parts and what not.
I'm willing to do whatever it takes on the turbo side to meet my goals. This at least gets me started with everything. What do you think that hx40/35...
Good info. Thanks!I'm hoping to be a few hundred pounds less than you since it's a track only car and I can strip it down.
What kind of converter are you running and what was your 60' time?
I think I did ok on it since the deal included the turbosmart gate and bov. I wanted something as complete as I could find to save me the hassle of picking/choosing parts without a ton of knowledge on my end.
I paid $1400 for all of it.Maybe after I get it going I'll find a good deal on a...
Just purchased ECMLink V3 so we can add that to the list.
The intercooler piping thats coming with my kit is already setup for SD so that's the route I'll be going.
Good to know. Easiest solution would be to just swap the exhaust housing over on the turbo, right?
I'm definitely not opposed to doing that if it needs it.
Any way to upgrade the turbo to a full hx40, or would that require a t4 flange?
Next up, fuel system.Since I'm going to be running E85, here's what I have in mind, feel free to comment or adjust my selections:Walbro 450 in-tank pump
FIC 1800 injectors
MAP FPR setup with AEM 25-302bk <---- will this flow enough?Anything else i'm missing?
Ok, ended up buying that complete package deal that someone was getting rid of. This is what it consist of:Hx35 w/ a hx40 billet extended tip wheel less than 7k miles
Schedule 10 stainless steel manifold.
100% back purged less thab 7k miles
Downpipe 2.5" Vband in 3" vband out. Less than 7k...
Ok. Just curious. So if I shoot for 500whp, I should be good to go to get down in the 10s.I think I have a line on a complete package setup. I'll know in just a bit. Made 490whp on a 1g manual trans car at 30psi on e85.
He said he was running like 11.8s with it at ~120mph so wasn't sure...
I'm curious what kind of HP level I should be shooting for to hit my goals?
Let's say I wanted ~130mph trap speed. These cars are around 2900 stipped down or so?
Thanks a ton for sharing your setup! Sounds like exactly what I'm wanting to do. I'll look into the BW/STM setup.I do realize that I will need all the standard safety equipment. Car is getting caged soon.Good info the intercooler. I run a VRSF on my 335i and I've had no issues at all...
The pricing on the FP Black looks pretty good. Do you feel that an internally gated turbo would meet my needs? If external is better and recommended, then I'd probably look at going with a T3 setup and external gate as I believe they flow more compared to the mitsu turbos?
I'm open to ANY turbocharger on the market that will meet my goals. Does not need to be Mitsu flange, and I can purchase whatever turbo manifold is required for the spec'd turbo.Ok, I know the 272 cams are popular, but I see a lot of options beyond those as well. If they'll meet my goal, I'm...
I'm probably the oldest newbie on the forum. Just recently got back into it with a 1g car that I intend to use as a track only car.
That said, I intend to gut the car and get the weight down some. Here's the specs currently:92 AWD Auto - 6/4 combo with LSD
6 Bolt engine
9:1 Wiseco pistons...
The dude with the RHD integra is name Greg i think... Anyway, he was a stand-in in the first fast and furious movie. You can see him in the back ground when vin diesel is ranting about how true racers get down, after the first big race. He was also a stand-in for the short film "the last...
Sorry. I was trying to hold back. But when someone makes a comment like what he did, i couldn't help but get frustrated.
Give credit where credit is due, that's all. And last time i checked, my 05 rsx-s is puttin out 210hp stock, which on a 2.0L motor, is 105hp per liter. Now that's not...
Hey, im from missouri... just south of the joplin area actually. currently my talon is all tore apart and getting the motor fully built. i bought an 05 RSX S for a daily driver, so i decided to make a race car out of the talon.
right now im waiting on parts, like the 3065, manifold, and...
Check to see if your master cylinder is leaking by looking up under the dash at the clutch pedal, and look for any signs of fluid.
Check the slave cylinder by looking at it while someone works the clutch pedal for you.
Let us know what you find out.

I've got the motor and tranny completely out of my car. While it is all out and easy to work on, i am doing numerous things that will save me a few headaches down the line. One thing that used to give me problems, was the clutch system. After looking at how much of a mess the metal bent line...
Just a question, how much more flow does the 3052 pump out compared to an E316g? Because at 20psi on my e3, i am usually seeing 2300 hz at around 6500rpm or so. And the head is 100% stock, no cams or anything.

Here's the deal. This is taking a little bit longer than had expected, because the car is on consignment. The owner, who is the original owner, is a 35 year old sgt. in the military. He is right now in Japan, and will be there for 2 years. I spoke with him on the phone and he has owned 3...
Well, i got to drive both cars. First off, the EVO. It is nice, i cant argue that. Its got plenty of power, and actually having room for 4 people comfortably could be a plus. The HID headlights are great. Its only a 5 speed.
Next, the VR-4. Its really nice too. The black leather just...
Thanks for the tons of replys! I value everyone's opinion on this.
I think DSMjrv has the wrong idea though. I don't really want it to be a track or a drag car. Just a nice daily driver. And just by looking at that 3kgt, you can def. tell it is a VR-4. Not that it matters. Hell, that's...
Awesome, how does the AWS handle? Is it touchy at higher speeds? Does it turn sharper when parking than my talon?!?! (god i hope so...) I've already mastered 3 point turns, and sometimes it takes more than that, but i really hope it turns tighter...
That pic looks awesome. The 98 im...
Awesome amount of information guys! Thanks! 97-99 vr-4s are pretty rare, so i know what you mean by the "whoaaa..." statement.
I'm still at kind of a tossup right now, but i think i'll end up leaning toward the 3000gt. I'm stopping at the dealer tomorrow after work, and i'm going to compare...
Thanks for the reply. I know that some vr-4's did come with AWS. I know of a 97 that has it. I think it was only for that year though. But i could be wrong. Right now, i'm leaning toward the 3000gt for a few reasons. I see EVO's around all the time, but hardly ever a vr-4. I love the way...
A local Mitsu dealer has acquired a 98 3000gt VR-4. Its red and is in mint condition with only 28,000 miles. Black leather interior also. Very beautiful car with the 18" chrome wheels, AND, it is 100% stock. Its definately been taken care of. Here's the deal, I turned down a 94TT RX7 a...
You need an ECU from a 95 turbo model. Can be auto or manual. To my knowledge, 1995 was the only year for EEPROM ECU's in the 2g cars.
Good luck finding one.

I take it you've never seen that happen. That warning would be on the PTO shaft, and it's not a pretty site when it does happen either.
Welcome to the mid-west.

Well lets see... I have 5% window tint all the way around and a tint strip accross the front windshield, i dont run a front license plate because i think that is pretty f-in stupid when 1 mile from my house, the arkansas people don't have to. I've never "actually" had my car inspected for...
Do you understand how impossible that question would be to answer? There are SOO many factors that could change things.. No one on here knows how you drive a 5 speed, so there's just no accurate answer for that question. I mean, is it a BRAND new clutch? Or does it have 100,000 miles on it...
