Thats it, I just did the same thing to mine. I had a severe leak out of the pump seal so I replaced the seal and bushing. I also went ahead and replaced the axle seals, pump seal, pump oring and the output shaft seal, although I wouldn't recommend the output shaft seal its a pain in the ass.
I just received my AEM and i'm going to install it in my car. It is an auto car and the tcu has been removed since I did the Kiggly manumatic wiring. I just want to see if there is anything I need to do before I install it, I think on a 2g you have to remove a wire and I want to make sure if I...
Im building a 2.3l stroker over the winter to achieve my goal of 650-700whp. I need to know which turbo/s will achieve this number. Im sure there are some BB turbos out there with reasonable spool that can achieve what im trying to do, if anything I can add a little spray to get things going. I...
Yeah they are about 30 miles from my house. They do really good work and are really helpful. I dropped off the bare head and parts minus cams and they put in new guides, seals, lapped the valves in and assembled everything and had it back to me in 2 days and you can barely walk in there shop...
Ive had the Brian Crower springs and retainers for a little bit myself, they are pretty nice. I ordered the 280 style cams but they kept getting pushed back, 2 weeks when I ordered..3 weeks..4 weeks so I said forget it and got the Comp 101200s and havent looked back since. I also added some "...
The ONLY time ive ever blown a freeze plug out is when I blew a headgasket. The gasket would fail and let the compression go into the coolant passages and pop the suckers right out.
I was just curious, I have a g4cs in the garage and I have my 4g63 too. Ive only ordered the Manley I beam rods so far because im debating if I want to run the 2.4 or not. Im not saying I will make as much power as your car does, I can only hope :| . I am going to run the 3575 though, I guess...
Just to make sure im understanding 100% ill ask. Im looking at some 17x8 rota boost wheels with a 48mm offset. I will run 245/40/17 tires, which puts me close to stock. I put in 6 inch width with a 46mm offset for the current, 8 inch width and 48mm offset for the new wheels. It says inner...
Im pretty sure that I will have to get something to correct the camber in the rear but the front should be ok correct ? Summit Racing has the rear Ingalls adjustable arms for 58 each, is this all I need for the alignment shop to get it back to normal ? Thanks for any help.
I posted the install on my other car before but heres the install on the car im driving now.Ignore my fuel line I havent gotten around to moving it yet.
Thanks for the help. Since it was leaking at the turbo thats what I did a few weeks ago, I tested it where the lower pipe goes on the intercooler. I need to get a fmic and pipes over the winter my stock pipes are looking rough LOL .
Ive been trying to track down a boost leak for a while now. I'm hoping someone may have had this problem before and can help me out. When I pump air into the leak tester it will hold for a couple seconds then it will leak out of what sounds like the compressor cover. Its not coming out of the...
How much of the harness from a dsm are you using ? I have a shell that I was going to take the wiring harness out of because I thought there were 2 different harness', but when I went to take it out I figured out its one big harnes.
I removed the throttle body coolant lines about a month ago when the weather was still warm. The car idled great, now that it has gotten cold it will not idle under 2000 rpms. I suspect this is from not being able to melt the wax pellet for the fiav ? I looked on the vfaq on how to block it off...
Mine was doing the same thing, except it would blow them out when the hg blew. The gasket would blow and put all the compression into the water system, just like you said.
If the CAS is 180 out they need to unbolt it from the head and flip the " button " around and reinstall it. There is a plug in on the firewall that needs to be grounded to set the base timing. They need to ground that then they can check it with a timing light and adjust the CAS as needed...
2.4 60ft = :notgood: . Get your 60fts down into the 1.7-1.8 range, which is pretty easy if you really know how to drive and your times will drop dramatically.
Your rings dont take that long to seal, what kind of break in did you do ? Also if your headgasket was blown it wouldnt show those kind of compression numbers, unless the cylinder had oil in it. My motor doesnt even have 100 miles on it and it shows 185 across on a cold motor, but I did a hard...
The bov is recirculated of course. This is my other car it has a big 16g not the 14b in my profile. The smoke is white, like I said when I shift AND the turbo is spooled up is when it does it. It doesnt smoke at startup and it doesnt smoke if it doesnt go into boost which is kind of hard to do...
My car is smoking in between shifts but only when the turbo is spooled up. If you drive slow and let it not build boost it doesn't smoke, also it doesn't smoke at wot only when I let off the gas to shift. The car doesn't smoke at idle either. Would this be the oil seals in the turbo ?
I also used the 2g ITM pistons with rings on my rebuild. They are identical to Hastings. The instructions that come with the rings on those pistons tell you to put the 2nd ring on upside down, it tells you the bevel on the ring should go up when in fact the bevel should be faced down.
Whatever is happening it is destroying the gaskets. Heres a picture of the first one I took off and the one I just took off now looks exactly the same.
When the freeze plugs go the car is at normal operating temperature, no overheating what so ever. I also turn the car off immediately so it doesn't get hot. I get the felpro gaskets for 20 bucks but I'm still spending more then I would if I bought 1 good metal gasket, but I want to make sure...
Hello i'm having some weird problems with my new motor. I have a freshly built shortblock, 1g rods and 2g pistons, b16g @ 12psi and arp head studs @ 90ft lbs. The block was decked for a metal gasket, the head was milled also for a metal gasket and a little porting on the exhaust side. I'm not...
