Hah that's fair enough to say. If that's the problem I'LL TAKE IT! Thanks for the help. Did the 90' ECU's have problems with the leaking cap's as well or was it just the 91's on? Thx in advance.
ECU looks fine, caps are all still sealed up and it looks alright. We have a couple other ECU's from 91-94 fwd's will those work or are they drastically different from the 90 ecu?
Thanks for the tips guys. Here's what we've done so far. He had the AFC professionally installed by www.automotosports.com out here in IL. Now I do remember there being a problem with the afc though...for a while it would stay on no matter what even when he shut the car off. Where is the...
Ok, here's the deal.
We have a 1990 TSI FWD.
No mods besides an AFC-2 and exhaust.Problem: Car doesn't start. It will crank but not start. There is Spark, Definitly Fuel (not sure on pressure) and there is compression. We checked the coils and there is 12.10ohms of resistance...
I always think about this stuff exactly. I do sort of believe in reincarnation though. That as soon as you die your imedietly transformed into another human being but you never have any knowledge of it. I hate the fact that we won't ever really know what happens when you die or how far space...
You bring up a lot of good points. These guys come in thinking turbo's bolt right up. Little do they know they require a great amount of engine modifications and fabrications.
You really need to read man...thats the only way your going to get anywhere with DSM's. If you go with a 2nd gen and decide to make big amounts of power your going to run into one possible problem. The dreaded crankwalk...now it's more uncommon then common to get crankwalk when you start to...
Oh god...somebody please direct him in the right direction. There is no hope what so ever of modding that 1.8. You need a 4g63T longblock, trans and ecu. Without it you won't make any power. Stop wasting your money on chips and headers...becuase you won't use any of that with a turbo setup...
The place i went to made me a custom 3 inch turbo back for 140 bucks. They didn't even use a cat. I went in and asked em how much for a full 3 inch exhaust and they said press bent or mandrel i said mandrel and he goes we do alot of these so 140 bucks sound good? I said sure. The press bent...
That is so awesome man. I've always wanted to do something like that but you can't really do much in the suburbs of chicago. Damn can the police do anything to break it up if it's on private property like that? That would be the perfect party spot just close it all up put some insulation up...
It's your slave cylinder or there's no fluid in the system dude...theres like 4 main components to a clutch system.Clutch master: check for leaks
Clutch slave: check to make sure it pushes back the rod out.
Clutch itself: should be fine unless theres' no fluid
Clutch reservoir...
Hydralauic clutch systems are sealed systems meaning...the fluid just can't go away. There is a leak somewhere and if you don't notice any fluid then it's probably an internal leak for the clutch master cylinder look under the dash at the clutch pedal assembly and you should see a boot with a...
lol don't mean to be a jackass but the vfaq is pretty much designed for retards...how you could mess that up and remove all the honeycombs is beyond me? ROFL
Piston slap is caused by pistons that either have no skirt or a reduced skirt. These pistons are very much in favor today as they greatly improve engine efficiency and when they work right, engine life. The problem is, a lot of them aren't working right. To understand piston slap, in an...
Get a lawyer and you'll get out of it for sure. Lawyers can do things we can't. When I called this lawyer he didn't even ask what kind of ticket it was he just wanted to know if it was a moving violation and asked if he could send my lisence to my house.
But you might be drawing to much current for that small circuit. With car stereo's the systems are hooked up to the battery which can dish out the large amounts of amps when needed. a small fuse doesn't like it at all.
hey you have ask stupid questions on here...lol anyways. Check and make sure you didn't tap into the ECM fuse i think it is. Try unplugging the guages and see if it still blows fuses. You maybe be cuasing to much of an amperage draw causing causing your battery and alternator to have to work...
Yeah go figure Q101 bought out 94.7 just becuase they didn't want any competition anymore. Q101 sucks now and not a chance in hell i'm listening to oldies. Looks like it's ton's of mp3 cd's for me. :barf:
This is what you do. Find 4 of them at the junkyard place them next to a fence go back there at night with a 10 foot pole with a pulley on the end of it and some rope and a hook. Then you drop the hook down and pick up the steelies. So basically i'm telling you to steal the steelies. ROFL...
The compressor nipple should go to a T, one of the T goes to the actuator, the other one goes to the inlet of the bcs, the outlet of the bcs goes to the intake pipe near the mas.
No you shouldn't have to. There should be a small plastice piece about the size of a golf ball with two nozzles on it. It connects to there. Unless you have a MBC.http://members.shaw.ca/dsm.1000q/Engineprimer/1G/visual-index.htmLook on top of the air filter.
550's and safc.
I'm running an evo III on stock side mount and still running fine. You'll notice a huge difference from those injectors and a good tune.
Disconnect the battery for a few minutes, reconnect turn the key to the on position and use a multi-meter. Put it on DC voltage and check the fuses that way. When my power windows didn't work it was my alternator fuse that blew can blow putting the cables back on the battery, and it's the fuse...
That helps with the coil but what about for the ignitor? Also what would cause the vent solenoid to keep clicking with KOEO and even when the keys out of the car it clicks.
CAS is good. only thing i'm kinda puzzled on though is theres no spark on any cylinders. WHich would make me think it's a bad triggering device (CAS)
What's the procedure to test the ignitor and coils? for the coils should i just check the resistance accross them? any idea on specs for them...
