Sorry about your whole situation, that really sucks. You definetly got the wrong turbo if there are no coolant lines. If you did in fact call slowboy regarding the lack of coolant lines and they told you that a gt12 doesn't have them they are responsible for 1) sending you the wrong turbo...
I have a gt35r with a .82 a/r t3 undivided turbine housing ported S cover. It's the best combo IMO for the 35r on a pump street car. I build power all the way to 9K with that TH. The divided TH is debatable on if it's any better then the non divided. I would definetly get a ported S cover...
Well, elevation does put a big damper on hp at our elevation. This was also done uncorrected on a mustang dyno. Put us on a dynojet and the numbers would be much more higher in our favor. I'm pretty sure there is a dynojet in the valley. If I can find one I'll post the results on the same...
You'll have a hard time making 500 hp on a scm61 or 3561 internal gated turbo. You won't be able to hold more then 25 psi with a internal gate unless you wire it shut. One of my good buddies used the same turbo with a internal gate and couldn't get it to hold more then 25 psi. So he went...
If your going to be running a T3 dnp manifold then the choice is clear, 35r. The 3065 is a great turbo, I just think the hot side/turbine wheel is too small. I went with a 35r T3 .82 and I love it. Top end is just undescribable.
Thats good to know. So the turbine housings are bep on the dsm bullseye turbine housings? Surely the Supra wasn't using mitsubishi flanged turbine housings.
I guess that's pretty close. I think when tuning it's good to use everything you can to get the best tune. Obviously, if your airflow numbers are out or wack from the "norm" and you have a calibrated maft you would take that into consideration and try to figure out what the proble is. But...
That's what I meant. I have a friend with a maft and a set-up that "should" be reading X lb/min in theory on X amount of boost that would be consistent with other similar set-up's. But because of his maft being uncalibrated his airflow reads much lower then to be expected.I do still think...
A lot of people have used the scm 61 and had great results. It's more of a proven turbo. It looks like you would want to go the bb rout if you get this turbo, which is nice but then you get into water lines, oil restrictors/filters and extra crap.I like the Borg/Warner compressor map...
Hey, I wouldn't say you suck at tuning. 11.5 @119 means you know what your doing. 45 lb/min is about right at 25 psi on the 3065. Throw in some race gas and crank up the boost and you'll see 50+ lb/min and a low 11 high 10 sec time slip. Don't worry about the lb/min. It's just a arbitrary...
You might want to reconsider running oil from the oil filter housing if you have your bs removed, even if you have a restrictor. I bought the oil filter/restrictor from fp and they said even with the restrictior to run oil off the head if your balance shafts are removed. Your definetly going...
Can anyone tell me if this is a Evo 6.5 rs tme? Do any other 16G's come with a twin scroll turbine housing besides the 6.5 rs tme? The only thing that makes me think it isn't is because the TH says 9.8 and also the compressor housing reads:49378-01520
TD05HR-16G-9,8T

Yes it will be woth the swap. You'll have a way more effecient pump gas turbo that will flow around 5 lb/min more then the 57 trim, spool much quicker and have quicker transient response. On top of that you'll have way more top end because you'll have a Garrett .82 turbine housing which is a...
Look at the gt35 compressor map. That compressor wheel is very very effecient (fp3065, scm61, are a few of the variatons. I'm running 27 psi on 91 pump @ methenol with around 14-15 deg of advance nearly no knock on when it's 90 degrees outside. I can't wait untill it cools off even another 20...
What's annoying are people like you who don't have a clue what you are talkig about. I'm 27, how old are you cupcake? And just so you know, my buddy just got a brand new fmic from them yesterday. Because of my issues we pressure tested it and guess what? He had a leak too. This is a...
Thanks Slowboy! Just so everyone knows, these guys are top notch when it comes to taking care of their custumers. Quick responses and great help. Thanks again Slowboy Racing.
I just got a brand new slowboy fmic a couple weeks ago. I was finally able to get it on the car and check for boost leaks. I don't have a turbo on my car right now (new one should be here the begining of this week) so needless to say I never even put boost to the intercooler. Of course the...
If you had a really bad backfire, that's the cause of the problem. It probably would of happened with any sheetmetal manifodHowever, I have my magnus off for the 4th time because of cracking around the welds of the runners. Maybe I have the last one made on a friday at 5:00, but this thing...
I looked at getting one of their manifolds because of how cheap they were, and the fact that they had a "lifetime warranty" on ebay. But after going to their website through a ebay link and looking at their contact info, they will not give a phone number. If you want to contact them it is...
Does anyone make a true 3" downpipe from the 02 housing flange, all the way back? Not 2.5 or 2and 3/4's but 3" at the flange? I know the 2.5 and 2&3/4 flanges are needed for stock o2 housings, but I'm going full Garrett with a full 3" O2 housing.
The turbine housing that fp sells is the T31 turbine housing not the gt turbine housing. The gt turbie housing is made specifically to the gt35 turbine wheel, but it sticks out a couple inches further on the 4 bolt outlet then the T31 turbine housing. This could cause issues with fitting the...
Has anyone had any fiting issues with o2 housings using the Garrett gt turbine housing on a gt35r? I know I'll be making a custum O2 housing anyway, but was wondering if I'll have issues.
A buddy of mine ran 13.5 in the 1/4 on 14 pounds of boost with his sc61. This is with a stock bottom/top end with stock cams and intake manifold. This was also with some massive boost leaks (we later found out), his timing was out of control (25+ advanced because he didn't have his gm maft set...
I've had both. I had a pte 50 trim and a agp 60-1. I honestly wasn't that impressed with my 50 trim, but I think it was more the crappy hot side of that turbo. I really like my 60-1,it's ok on pump. I can run about 20-21 psi on pump with a good FMIC. With dsmlink I log 42/43 lb/min and i'm...
Sorry to beat the gt35r questions into the ground, but I was wondering who has used a t4 hot side with this turbo. I'm thinking .84 a/r full t4. I know it might be a little laggy, but that's ok. I'm hoping full boost by 5000 rpm's. I'll be reving to 9-9500 rpms. Those who have used or know...
I already did a few searches and couldn't find the answer. I have a 1.5 year old act 2600 pressure plate. I've looked at the pp and don't see any heat spots, glazing, or obvious problem signs. There is a little wear where the throw out bearing touches which would be cleaned up if resurfaced...
Sounds like it could be phanom knock comming from something literally knocking against the engine causing the knock sensor to pick up a false reading. Make sure there isn't anything bumping around on your engine or around your engine bay that could cause this.
Ok, so the vpc chip I'm getting is the 550 chip. And I also have a DSM chip in my ecu to compensate for 660's, timing, 2g maf, no lift shift. Since I won't have a maf with the vpc will the dsm chip fubar things up since it's programed to compensate for the 2g maf?
Just a simple question I can't find a answer to. I'm getting a vpc for a 1g. I have a eprom ecu with a dsm chip in it with compensation for my 650's, timing, and other things. When people talk about the "VPC" 450, 550, 650 chips...and so on is this a chip that goes on to the ecu like my dsm...
That's the great thing about these turbos though. They were built to be on disel trucks running 25-30 psi on a daily basis and built to last 300,000 miles. If you can get one that's initially in good condition it will last forever.
You said refering to hp "remember, the idea isn't to get the most possible but to make it as adjustable as possible". Like many people have already said you won't be able to accomplish this goal with this turbo. It's not really a adjustable turbo. If you plan on setting it up for it's...
