No, I havent changed my mind, I have just been so busy dealing with all the bull from my wife and trying to avoid jail because of her, it has taken so much of my time. That and I have my daughter between 4 and 5 nights a week. I just havent been able to keep on top of this.I should soon...
Just a little update:Its been rough lately and I have been fighting with alot of thngs that keep me from wanting to do anything. I havent been on the computer very much because I have had my daughter so much lately, which is great. However, I havent been able to finish my list for the parts...
Yeah, 6 VR4's along with a GGSX, and a couple of GS's. I cant bring my self to do anything with them becasue eventuallly I would like them for my children to drive as a "classic" when they are old enough. My son and daughter love rideing in dads loud brick. So I will just forget about them for now.
No, sorry I only got into the 1G's.Just to let everyone know, I am still working on the add that I will put up soon. If you want an idea of what will be, alot of them are pictured in my gallery even though the pictures are older.
Good suggestions all around, however I dont really care about the money to say I want to make a living off these. I have already been doing that for the last 10 years and have sold thousands of dollars worth of parts off the cars. I just did it in other avenues rather than the common ones such...
Ok,First off, I would like to say thank you to all the people that have ever contributed to me over the years that I have been on here and obssesd with DSM's.Secondly, just a little back ground, I have collected a bunch of DSM's that I no longer can stand to look at. These have been a...
Yeah, I heard the same thing, but after a lot of discussion with a few people, we figured it wouldnt make to much of a difference. Besides, I cant imagine that anything in the sensor would be disrupted by a gravitational pull.
I would check it all out. Ther is possiblilities that it is not the brackets, Arms, cables, or even the clutch.A very common problem with these cars is the clutch pedal assembly itself. The arm and bushings will wear out and cause a problem with the mastercylinder. Basically , when this...
Definetly! If the shifter assembly and cables are 91, and the bracket and arms are 90, then the shifter arms would not have full throw. Inturn, this would not allow the gears to completely ingage which would cause grinding.Just ask anyone that had ever put a 90 transmission in with out...
If you click on the link in my first post, it shows you th edifferences in the brackets. It is pretty easy to identify the 90 and 91 brackets. The shifter arms on the otherhand need to be measured.
Look at this thread to note the differences in the brackets and cables.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/drivetrain-tech/355940-shifter-cable-bracket-difference-between-90-91-dsm-vr4-transmissions.html
What year transmission did you put in the car? If it is a 90, you need to change the shifter arms and brackets. Look at the post linked below to see if the brackets are the same or different. Basically all you would have to do if they are different, is change them over from your old...
I had posted this a while ago in another thread to show what to look for, but I thought I would start a seperate thread just for them so here it is.This is just to show the difference and similarities between GVR4's and DSM's with the difference pointed out about the missconception of the...
I have been putting together a file of all the Galant VR4's that I can find from forum to forum. The reason I started this, was to narrow down what # of 2000 my 91Summit white VR4 is. Granted, when I started this, I would have never thought that so many have gone to the scraper and will never be...
As the title states, I am looking for any info on #1387 of 2000.I picked it up a few months back out of Kentucky, and was told it use to reside in Ohio.
If there is anyone here that did, or may have known who owned it, please let me know. Just trying to get some history. ;)...
Yeah it is a good possibility, but if you say that both on one side are sticking, you might have fluid control problems. I.E. proportioning (s.p.?) valve . But it would be good to start at the brake calipers. Jack up the car in the front and put it in nuetral and try to spin the wheel that was...
Thank you that does help! I am still searching for the page that I found once before but with not much luck. I did find one thing out that was a great help. on the F5M221, the 3rd number (1) is reference to the cam, i.e. single over head cam. So all of you out there might want to keep that in...
I know that I had found this info once before on a website, But I have been searching all of the ones in my favorites and can not find the answer. I've searced this site and others for 5 hours now.
What I am looking for is the corespodence of the tranny #'s on the top of the bell housing that...
Hey!!, I have a 8 foot 2x4, maybe I could talk the guy into getting some directions from him so I too can make some well deserved money!!
Steve. :dsm: :talon: :laser:((joke))
Let me know how long of bolt it is that you need and I should probably have something that is the right size and of the right grade hardness for you. I have a large supply of mitsu bolts taken off the cars that I have scraped out. I use sub frame bolt in my exshust housing (o2 to...
Yes it could. A friend had the same problem on his 1st gen. Do you have an after mark. boost gauge and manual boost control? If not, you should really have them. Theres a good possibility that your over boosting.
Search around for a while, you'll find other mebers that have encountered the...
Well if it has spark, it might not be getting any fuel, You can check to see if the pump is running by having a friend roll the car over while you either listen at the gas door with the cap off(to hear it buzz), or you can roll it over for about 10 sec, and then pull the return line off the fuel...
Just a possibility, but it might just be dry bushings in your control arm. like styx said, just have a look inside while someone turns the wheel back and forth.Steve.
I too have had the transistor fail and the coil only fired on two. I have used non turbo P.T.s on turbo vehicles, it just has to match the plug (i.e. 90's only on 90's, and 91 up on 91 up)This is a good source for used parts.

Does this belong to some one here?http://www.brisbaneperformance.com/cars.php?id=602I have to know what is sticking out of the front bumper!!Steve. :thumb:
Drivers side corner of the tank. I think that it is either a 22mm or 24 mm.
If your tank has a bolt right in the middle toward the back, DO NOT TAKE THAT ONE OUT!! It is the bolt that holds the sending unit in place, and some times you cant get the bolt started back in.!!
Steve. :thumb:
Sounds like when you ran it out, you sucked crap that was sitting on the bottom of the tank in to the lines. I would sugest changing the fuel filter, and then go from there. Maybe even drain the tank to see if there is anything that comes out.Steve. :laser: :talon: :dsm:
Granted, the thermostat and the fans and the water pump, are all common problems, but the radiator is a very big "odd" in the cooling system. Radiators should be flushed regularly (once a year) because of the corrosion that builds up in them. I have had radiators that looked exceptional, but...
It could of done one or the other or both. I have had them break, and just come off. The reason that they will fall off is because the caliper will freeze up when you pull the cable, and then when you release the cable, it will come out of the pivot arm, unless the keeper is still in there. They...
No, the bare blocks are basicly the same configuration, but the turbo block has oil injectors in the bottm to spray and cool the pistons. The trannies are different gear ratios and the turbo has larger internals and a heavier housing to handle the torque and power increase.Steve. :talon...
Yeah, it sounds like you lost one of your coils. BUT, i have had a power transistor burn out on one side and did the same thing. I would have the coil tested first before you buy one. You should be able to get it out with out removing the rail, but sometimes they are a bi***. So you might have...
I always use chrysler atf+4. It says to use atf+3, but there is no difference, they bump it up every couple years. You can get it right at the dealer for about the same price as the parts store. I like the dealer fluid, it gives you a better feeling when you put in exactly what is supost to be...
The one that I just replaced was another kids, Just from what he told me, yes. I did have one go out of a front wheel drive, and it didn't. it just popped out of 5th while going 95mph passing a line of traffic. I would do a very thurough inspection. Look for exactly where the leak may be. It...
Hope that it is a seal. There is apossibility that since you felt a violent shake that it could be the center diff pin exploded. I just changed a tranny because of that. It came through the housing and made the tranny shake. so inspect it good.Steve. :talon: :laser: :dsm:
It will fit as long as you have the 6 bolt engine. I dont remeber what the subtle diff was on the 7 bolt, but there is something.Steve. :talon: :dsm: :laser:
You will first have to take the tranny off to do it correctly. then, as long as you still have the ear that broke off, youll have to clean up the block and the ear. Then weld it back on with nickle rod. Do you have any welding experience or no some one that does?
This is not really a job for...
I had the sme problem with my 92 awd. It turned out that the front belhousing bolt boss had broken and was letting the bolts come loose and the only bolts that were holding the tranny on were the top two. This was letting the tranny seperate, and when you would push in the clutch, the transfer...
is your motor the seven bolt? If so and you are using the stock bolts, they are a toruque to yeild. The seven bolts can can generaly be used once or twice and then the are out of yield specs. The 6 bolt however, can be used numerous times be fore needing to be replaced. If the 7 bolts are...
