http://www.dsmtuners.com/parts/product_info.php?cPath=2_28&products_id=48To port the wastegate chamber, remove the turbo and (a) port it yourself or (b) send it to RNR or some other company.I've done my own porting, it's no biggie, but some people aren't comfortable with doing it...
Well, creep comes from the inability to dispose of "waste". Hence, you need to move the waste out faster and more of it. You have a few options.I don't think that the 2g o2 sensor housing will completely eliminate it. I'm sure it will help, but when you start to do more modifications...
So the final verdict is: Nice intercooler. Gotta respect custom work. If it was inexpensive, rock on! We see how it might cause problems with spool time. If it works well, more power to 'em.What type of sheet metal could you use to make custom endtanks? Also, would MIG welding work well...
Your car's idle should not be affected by venting to atmosphere, and you will run rich between shifts. Essentially, this should apply to both manual and automatic vehicles. While your automatic shifts, your bov is venting back to the intake, regardless if your pedal is "to the metal".
you must hone the cylinders so that the new rings seat well. also, make sure to put the rings on in the right position. How much time do you have? How much money? If you have the cash, get 2g pistons on 1g rods.
quick answer, creep is created by the inability of your wastegate to dispose of "waste", hence creating more boost. Improve waste disposal, reduce chances of creep.
I spoke with Gabriel yesterday....very knowledgable and professional. I'll be meeting with him this weekend to check out his operation, etc. We spoke for quite some time about a lot of things. I think everyone should give him a shot. He's got great plans for his company, and it would be...
When I was going to replace my rings, I had no choice but to replace the pistons, since 2 of them were cracked. You wont find out until you pull it apart, but just to be safe and help your engine run another few 100,000 miles, I'd get them. $33 each from our local Mitsu dealer for the pistons...
Pistons come out the top. I don't believe there is a way around it. My suggestion, get new pistons and keep your rods. If you stick with 1g pistons, you wont have to machine the rods. Machine shops here charge $4 a press, so for around $32 you have your new pistons on your rods. They can do...
Get some prices from RRE. If you are willing to do it yourself to save some cash, I'll be glad to help you out (walk you through). Like I said, it's really not that bad of a job to do.I wish I had someone there to help me (well....it was me and another non-dsm'er).
MB539465Here's the part number for the cable you need. The car came with cruise, when I got it the box was gone. When I rebuilt everything, I said screw having cruise control.Kind of a bad picture, but you can see how it just wraps around the left side over the intake manifold, then...
I can break it down for you....but he's right. I had a lot of time.If you're patient, I'll be glad to walk you through it.I kept my rods (of course) and bought new pistons and rings. Rings were $75 (someone bought them and never used them, dropped the price). Pistons were $140 from...
Much easier than I thought it would be. I had NO previous knowledge of dsm's and I managed to come out alive. If I ever do it again (if I'm lucky by choice, not against my will) then I know it will take me a lot less time.
Work them down to 5k.....tell them that's what it's worth, reference kelley blue book, blah blah blah. They need your business, so tell them you found another one with less miles for less than what they want. You can always drive down to their dealership....play with them man. They're all...
I thought I only had to replace my rings, ends up the piston had a crack in it...Rebuilding was fun though. I'd love to do it again (on someone elses car of course).
well it took so long because I was broke, plus I tried to make sure it was all done properly. I'll post The solenoid is clicking, but nothing happens. I think it's the starter, but I'm about to push start that sumbitch.Anyone have prices on a starter?
So after months of rebuilding my talon, it's all together now. I went to start it and all I was "clack clack". It's a brand new battery(lights turn on, etc.), all is grounded, I even tried jumping it, still no work. the "clacking" sound should show that the solenoid is good.I'm thinking I...
use that part number. I got it directly from the parts guy at the local Mitsu Dealer (friend of mine) dsm'ers get 10% over cost there. If you want, you can call.
I've got a friend that does MIG welding and I'm 99.9% sure I'll be going to him to have some ic piping welded for me.I know some prefer one over the other, I just want to know what everyone's opinion is.
on my integra, I had that sound until I pushed in the clutch. It's was the throw out bearing. Usually you replace this when you put in a new clutch (sometimes comes in the kit you buy). Good luck!
I mean...I knew it would be easy, but I remember someone telling me there was a sealant I should apply before putting it on. So no sealant? Or should I get some just to be safe. Thanks guys. I know this sounds so newbie of me, but I don't want to f this up
I'm putting on my exhaust manifold for the first time this weekend and I know there are a few things I should do before putting it on. Can someone please walk me through what I need to do when putting it on. I have all the gaskets and tools, I just need to know what sealants to use, where to...
