  1. Putting the hx35 to the test!

There will be alot of data present, full logs as well as dual wideband, dual boost sensors ( one at comp outlet and one at manifold). Thats the best part of the dyno, hooking up all the knick knacks.
  2. Putting the hx35 to the test!

Glad some people are on the same page as me, whether then question every thing. just be happy there are people that throw their own money away to do research so you have a better basis to build your car off of.
  3. Putting the hx35 to the test!

We have used this fuel in many low boost applications with very much success. 4-5% gains to the wheels. Isn't testing about trying things no one else has and being innovative. This is not to be used in any street or racing application at this point unless there is some spectacular result. And...
  4. Putting the hx35 to the test!

UOf course it's accurate. It's a brands new mustang awd500. And my interest is more geared towards the use of the different fields as well. I've gained 20whp on NA 4cylinders just by using chp instead of regular race fuel. Gotta loved oxygenated fuel.
  5. Putting the hx35 to the test!

It may be a bit over kill but like I say I'm looking to max out the turbo and I dont want anything to hold that back.
  6. Putting the hx35 to the test!

With the recent purchase of the dyno at my shop, I am planning on doing some heavy research at the abuse of my own car. I am very impressed with the HX35 and i intend to push it to the max in its stock form. Turbo of test will be 8blade, 56mm ind, 82mm exd. With 12cm wastegated exhaust...
  7. Shortblock

I had the parts laying around and decided to machine everything and put it together, everything is new, and I will warranty it if a new oil pump is used, would like to get 1200, but very negotiable.
  8. Shortblock

I have a brand new 2.0 short block. Wiseco pistons, eagle rods, plate honed, surface decked. Built in house at mcbrides hidden horsepower. Mcbridesauto.com don't know how much your looking to spend.
  9. Great Lakes Region Dyno Services

  10. bc 280s with evo 8 springs

i have stock. never yet to have a problem. titanium would be a better choice. i mean they are lighter so they have there advantages. not really any strength to be gained.
  11. bc 280s with evo 8 springs

Manley part number 22190-16 from summit racing. They are for srt4. exact same specs you need. 92 lbs at 1.5 and 237lb at 1.00 coil bind at .950 Perfect for what you need. only 90 dollars these are what i run with 288s
  12. [RESOLVED] Knocking, not the engine

I had a transmission where the wire clips snapped out that hold the syncro in.... and it made a noise like that....might be something to think about.... i wasnt even being hard on it when it happened

  14. Bad lifters, what happens? (not a tick question)

i had the same problem and my intake valves were touching my pistons. Just ever so slightly. still not sure what the problem was i got new lifters valves, none were bent, springs and the head machined and my problem went away. Alot of money but took care of it all.
  15. Help ###

  16. Ratio's

  17. Ok anyone with wiseco pistons in their stroker with high boost and or spray?

I set the gap to what wiseco said and havent had a problem on mine. I run about 28 pounds at the track. Its been there about 10 times and has about 15000 miles on it and i have yet to have any problems.
  18. Any 2.3l Fwd's??

Ok as for fwd strokers I love mine, sorry I am tearing it down. I ran a 92 6 bolt stroker with a open diff and stock cams and a evo 3 and could lay down a 12.1 @ 129mph. and that was on street tires. still had no traction until about 95 mph. might not have been the best track car but i loved...
  19. 6 bolt 4g64 build question

You should not have any problem with a .040 over. Most people would bore it out 60 just to get the full 2.3 liter. I personal feel that this is the way to go because these blocks are a dime a dozen. I have 4 sitting at home with cranks if anyone needs them by the way. Not stroker cranks just...
  20. Polk Tubular control arms for a 1G

I am definately interested in a set of control arms for my car, I have been looking for about a year for a set and have yet to find any. Please get a price on these but really know matter what it is I want a set because my balljoints move in my control arms and that is not a good thing, so...

Sad thing is majiks car toasted it
  23. Ohio DSMers: Need some help

Nate Ryan is the kids real name! He lives! in canton. He had a black and gray talon but i dont know what he has now! Kick his ass
  24. 90 GSX Big Problem HELP NEEDED

Also no fuel going to the injectors does not mean you need new injectors. I have never seen all 4 of them fail at one time. Find a new mechanic. No mechanic knows these car better then us people here.
  25. 90 GSX Big Problem HELP NEEDED

I would check the ASD Relay or what some would call a MPI Relay which is right beside the ECU. Does it click when you turn on the key and does it click about 5 seconds after you shut down the car. Also get a timing light. makes things really nice. Also I might know your problem exactly being...
  26. Slowboy racing takes forever

I ordered about 2k worth of motor stuff and they didnt even have the balls to tell me they couldnt get me a crank that i ordered. So i waited for close to 3 months then cancel the crank order and got on from autozone.
  27. Newb downshifting question?

Ya i would say never go through a turn in nuetral, definate no no, but also dont really be affraid to downshift it into the turn, you dont have to ####y foot your tranny, if it goes in smooth dont worry about letting out on the clutch it will be ok, try to speed match of course, but ya use the...
  28. Do I have enough for 350whp??

Everyone here has a good idea on getting rid of that stock 1g maf. I personally would recommend the GM Maf setup just for that tuning capabilities. You can get basic settings and work off them rather then work from the stock computer settings. It makes thing alot better. Also I think you will be...
  29. Am I killing my transmission

Believe me, I have taken 2 years of education in Automotive Technology. And my first year all my studys dealt with anything I wanted. So I did alot of research on all wheel drive systems. And with the viscous couplers in these transmissions you can have as much as a 7 degree turn difference...
  30. Am I killing my transmission

Yes that is what I am saying. There would be more of a difference in the circumfrence of the tire if there was a difference of 1 to 2 psi in the tire.
  31. Resolved 4g63 pistons in 420a

Ive got a set of 450cc injectors with the harness'. Just leave a msg if interested. And it will only require 25 post and a little bit of Rep. to post in other areas.
  32. Am I killing my transmission

The bit about if you have 245's get 245's is not necessarily correct. But ya keep the same size tires. 245 and a 205 could be the same height tire as long as the aspect ratio's allow them to be. Aspect ratio is the second number on a tire. 205/"55"/VR16 It tells you how tall the side walls of...
  33. AARGH! The 1G 7-bolt Frankenblock: Crankshaft. 1Gb rods

Also the rod length is the same on every 4g63 from the early galant vr4 to the new evo's.
  34. AARGH! The 1G 7-bolt Frankenblock: Crankshaft. 1Gb rods

For an 7bolt block i am sure that the main journals are a different diameter. Something like 5mm or so. So for a 6 bolt crank to fit in the block you would have to have the block machined to fit the bigger journals. Or just make this all easier on yourself and buy a 6bolt block and crank which i...
  35. #3 Injector Harness No Power

The problem was found. Wrong wire was spliced.
  36. Problem Revving up

Luckily no valves smacked i guess
  37. Problem Revving up

Fixed the problem. Valve timing was off 4 teeth
  38. #3 Injector Harness No Power

Found that the problem was my #3 injector is not getting a pulse (no voltage). What could this be. The car caught on fire and we replaced that part of the harness. All the connections seem to be good. And i have put another ecu in it so i dont think that is the problem. Any other good ideas?
  39. Problem Revving up

Just got a 1990 Talon Tsi Awd yesterday and I need help. Since i have been working on them for a while i figured it would be a easy fix but was i wrong. The car will start fine now but it still has trouble revving up and it misses while doing so. You can rule out clogged exhaust. Any other ideas...
  40. Clutch Problem!

I am sure that it is not crank walk with a 6bolt stroker, i havent heard much of walk with them and the clearances were all too good. Thanks for the advice though.
  41. Slipped Snapped Broken Timing Belt T-Belt [merged]

possibly low on fuel? and the incline didnt allow it to go in the pump?
  42. MAFT- list your settings

Mine are all set on zero's but I have turned the richness up with the S-AFR at idle to help it alittle. so basically the same as turning the idle dial on the maft
  43. Slipped Snapped Broken Timing Belt T-Belt [merged]

I would say that this is very possible. Either way, either in forward or reverse. A front wheel drive could slide the wheels a little to give some pressure away but a awd would put it all on the belt so, my verdict is driver error. those idiots shouldnt do that stuff.
  44. Identify this hole in head?

Also it looks like that head could use some nice new valves and guides. or just a good cleaning. Alot of carbon build up if you ask me.
  45. Identify this hole in head?

You are 100% correct, that is the egr port. If you take the intake manifold off you will see where it goes completely through the head, and into the intake manifold and into the egr valve.
  46. 4G93 powering the EVO X?

With GDI you could run extremely high boost/compression becasue you wouldnt have to worry about detonation if you timed it right? Just like a diesel. you could ignite the fuel off compression.
  47. Clutch Problem!

Well got my car all together and it runs good by the way. But after about a day or 2 the clutch started to act funny then it made a bad ticking noise when i pushed the clutch in. Possibly the throw out bearing right?
  48. Sell 92 TSI AWD or upgrade/mod? Could use some suggestions & cost info...

Another thing is that if you stay with the talon you wont be shipping cars to the mechanic anymore, you will be the mechanic. they are just so fun to fiddle with. Keep the talon. My FWD has toasted those way overrated evos and sti's. And i only have 6k in it.
  49. what is compressor surge

All I know is that compressor surge usually occurs in turbos such as the Holset HX35s and bigger that are designed to run like 30+ psi all the time. By cutting the boost to around 20 psi the thing surge so to speak.
  50. Need Help w/ Stroker Setup.

I got my G64B crankshaft today, courtesy of Auto Zone, SBR couldnt find one for 3 months. Ok now to the things i need help with. I set it in today and here are the things I know that do and dont need modified. I will have to cut the Main Cap connecting braces, and i will not need anything...
