The first is horrible, from TRE. asked a simple question before I was making a purchase and got a J/O answer.Picasa Web Albums - Robert - Drop Box :nono:A screen capture from my contact with tre. Guess its better not to do business with em.:notgood:Also again with extremepsi, at...
Got the link car fixed, now for the other one. If i cant trust a w/b reading of 18:1 when its clearly not, how can I trust it at any other time? The more time I spend with the link the more I like a real standalone. At least with an safc you have control over low throttle settings, not that I...
I installed a couple widebands in a few 2g's this last week and I get a check engine code for the o2 heater. Is there a way to get that to go away. Got DSM link in one car and the other is stock ecu. Thanks in advance.FWIW these are the new PLX kits that have a little extruded aluminum...
Do you have a wideband or just using an autometer nb sensor? I would add fuel to those spots and see what happens. I am suspect of your tps, it needs to read correctly. 100% at WOT. Have you tried lowering the boost a little and see what happens.
AEM gives you the one biggest advantage that dsm link DOES NOT. Full control of timing in every cell allowing you to properly tune the car along with the fuel and almost anything you can imagine, I run one personally. After becoming a certified EFI tuner with engine management systems I...
You can also go with an innovate lc-1 for about 200, if your going with out a guage its all built into the cable. I think they got some with guages also.
Thanks for the input. I just finished a class in efi performance tuning and was just curious how some of the piggybacks work as they are not discussed, I can tune a stand alone in my sleep now. I run an aem in my car.
When you modify the air signal to the ecu i.e. with safc or such, if you add more fuel or tell the ecu you have more air what does the timing do? add or subtract. Is there a way to modify the timing on a 1g short of a stand alone or turning back the cas.
I added one to the gallery but it wont show right away.It comes right out the front fender on the passenger side. I took an evo 3 turbo and flipped it around.Heres a picture from my sig it gives you an Idea<img src="http://www.dsmtuners.com/gallery/files/3/2/0/4/7/alldone2.JPG"...
Tune using lambda. Most, if not all the afr guages right now only show from 10-20afr. Most of them have leds that are a graduated lambda scale above the calculated one. I have tried this a few times when Im mixing fuels and found lambda is easier to tune with personally.afr for meth is...
Just go with an 044 bosch pump from that jay racing. Flows enough for big stuff and is factory part so it will last. I mounted mine outside the tank with a -8 pickup. and 1/2" aluminum line to the front.
I remember the first time I saw that thing, and nick spent an hour telling me how awesome it was and how to do some cool stuff with these cars. I went out and bought 1 and then 2 and now I am on my 6th dsm. Only have 3 now though. Good to hear he is still going fast with a turbo as I am sure...
Just plumb in a cheap mechanical or something before you ruin your engine, I would stop doing "pulls' until you get this figured out, probably a spun bearing if you got no pressure.
Could be that when the wastegate opens and dumps your not measuring all the air, but it should be close. Do you have an egt?On the other hand I run an lc-1 with my aem and havent had any problems, i dump back into the exhaust. lc-1 is just the controller and wb o2 sensor, I read lambda off...
I also got the victory performance setup and its nice:thumb: , I was trying to check out some of their other stuff today and it just comes up with a name/ password prompt though. :notgood:
I just told you. If you swap the bumper then set one of the lights up there you will see. You need to swap hood, fenders, and bumper. I had to adjust the hood latch. I build these cars, its what I do. You need to add some extra bolt holes for the center peice between the bumper and the core...
There are spot welded brackets on the 92 that need to be removed and welded on to the other car. I think two for each light. I just did this to my talon. I did the back too. That was fun. :rocks:
I met jr at a run this year and they have all kinds of intercoolers, I also believe they have piping, if not they are available from his friends at english racing. I think that is englishracing.net.
I started in the back with my n/t but after charburger worked into the top 10-15 or so and had no problems keeping up during the hill climb. Mines not completely stock though. It was a hell of a day. I wouldn't miss another one fo sho. :D
If you feel safe thats cool, I have reviewed some of my rulebooks SCCA, IMCA, NASCAR, NHRA and that wouldn't fly thats all i'm saying. There is a couple of other things too, IF the shoulder belts are too long and you take a lateral hit you can slide sideways out of the seat and get your neck...
I wish there was a dyno sheet for like this and a evo 3 manifold. Manifold changes only. Maybe one with small turbo and one with medium sized. I think the manifold looks tough but what kind of numbers are we talking. It also looks heavier. I think time would be better spent working on the...
My family has been building tube frame and other chassis for over 20 years. That seatbelt attached to the strut bar will get someone killed. I haven't seen much concern over this. It is a bad idea and drilling a couple of holes in it just weakened the cross sectional strength besides all that...
I had similar questions about my ignition, should I go msd or not. Right after personal preference, experience, there is what do the pro's use. Almost every car in the race had msd ignition. This is where this applies to the topic, I think autometer is great in the fact that every picture of...
I personally use the autometer 5777.. It has a peak button to see what the highest boost was and a warning to go off at a given boost level. Its a little pricey but it gets the job done real well. It might save your engine too.
I am just beginning on my talon and I threw in the k&n and I was going down my list and got a little stumped on boost controllers. What are people using that works flawless. I got hundreds of different types in the parts catalog , some look like home depot specials and some look like rocket...
If you have a friend with a welder just cut a couple pieces of 1"round tubing and mount it about an inch off the floor and weld it in. Mine is as solid as a rock. THen put hard bushings everywhere else. :rocks: It might cost you a couple of dollars for the tubing but most people that...
