If there are no leaks underneath and you are adding oil, you are burning oil. But it sounds like you are still in alrigt shape, me and a couple other people I know with dsms add a quart every week.
This is for my 90 Ford Taurus that i want to use as a pizza delivery vehicle. The power steering line is leaking like crazy (have to add fluid every hour) and the stinking line runs all through the engine bay (like 5+ hour fix) Anyways I was wondering if i just removed the power steering belt...
First off, arnt DSM's domestics? I thought the main factory was in illinois... So that would make it an american car would it not? Now second, I'm pretty sure that a new 80k+ Viper is gonna have quite a bit of technology in it, these are advanced cars that push a lot of hp, and also these hugly...
What is the difference between the pre-91' transmissions? I notice that at TRE they dont sell all the parts they have for the 90 transmission. Ok, with that in order, does that mean if I bought a transmission off a 92' dsm, would i be able to bolt it up? Because it would be nice to just buy...
Yes you will be losing power. If you are buying new, I would recommend the evo because it is only a couple $ more, but if you are looking on dsmtrader, the 2g will be a lot easier to find.
Hey, i was just replacing my rear pads, and i cannot collapse the caliper. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else, and what they did to fix it. Has the caliper siezed? or am i missing something?
Can you order parts from TRE, or do you have to send your transmission to them, and they do it for you? Also, is there such thing as a transmission rebuild kit?
Yea, I am also interested in any information. I think TRE will sell parts, but I am not for sure on this because they do say that they will only do installs in a lot of different sections.
The AEM EMS also comes with pre-set maps for stock cars, as well as a site to download maps for modified cars. Yes it would be a good mod, but it will not be worth it unless you take the time to use it properly. In my opinion you just need to consider how much involvemnent you want to put into...
I do plan on putting in a larger turbo around the same time... and other supporting mods. What is the advantage of a 264/272 combo (other than a more stable idle)
I am doing an engine rebuild soon, (at 240,000 kms) and I was wondering what is the better HKS cam combo: The 264/272, or the 272/272. I will be grateful for any information, and what the most common set-ups are.
Ok, Removing the lower honey comb allows 2-3 more psi to pass through. And rewireing the fulepump allows it to supply more fuel so that you can boost higher without buying a more powerful fuel pump.
So my cv joints are fairly worn (i think they are going to just fall apart soon) and i need to replace them soon. Well i just stumbled on the install they have on dsmtuners, and they used the raxles half-shafts. Well I was going to replace the shafts anyways, but i was wondering if anyone had...
Check your linkage, i had the same problem in my 90' There is a little pin right before it enters the transmission, i just shoved a screw into it and it made everything better.
Yea, i got the same problem. Im replacing my 1st and 2nd gears because they are both grinding and also getting TRE double syncros. You should be able to get syncros at nearly any parts dealer.
Yea i have the same problem. I actually fixed a lot of it by tightening some ends in the linkage. It made the shift a lot more stiff with less play, but i still need to replace the syncros and my cluctch needs a replacement. BTW are there such things as transmission rebuild kits?
Ive done quite a bit of research one the AEM EMS and it looks like a miniture god to me, I plan on getting one next summer once I get some other major mods done. Go to the AEM EMS forum, there is lots of positive feedback there from others, as well as a lot of trouble shooting.
