Awesome car man, I keep seeing pics of it over the years and this build journal is legit. A friend from a local DSM group showed me a pic of your car on facebook and a few other pics popped up on some pages I'm a "fan" of or whatever on there. Shits inspiring man. Read this article thats...

What kind of BOV is that? I'm guessing Greddy RS? You can buy a recirculation fitting to replace the horn looking thing coming off of it. I don't think the stock recirc tube would line up correctly on your setup. You can just get something like radiator tubing and some small clamps to...
My speedo was off by like 5 or so when I got my car. Previous owner had put 17's on it and said he had tried to set it correctly...idk how he went about "setting" it, but I simply took the the clear plastic off of the gauge cluster, had someone cruise next to me at 60, and took the mph needle...
Effin awesome! I don't plan on dropping mine real low, but I plan on making her a beautiful, powerful, and road race-capable machine. I love what you've done with yours and I have shown it to some of my friends in the past just because it looked so good. It's awesome to know that it performs...
Bend that metal bracket holding the sensor upwards. It gets bent down over time from the hood being shut and then starts setting off the alarm when its bent too far. Just bend it back upwards. I did that and it hasn't gone off since.
I really don't think alot of DSM'ers on this site know what they are talking about when it comes to 2g prices. 5k should get you a good 2ga(95-96). 2gb's(97-99) are tricky. Less than 5k and you're looking at at least somewhat of a project. Over 5k and you're looking at a crook or a well...
Thanks for sharing that. I'm gonna try to figure out a real fix eventually, but I don't have money growing on trees! I really haven't been able to spend much time or money on the performance aspect in the 2.5 years I've had her. Oh well, its a labor of love I guess lol.
I know all about 2g's and their balljoint issues, but, I mean, I'm tired of replacing them myself, I'm trying to motivate myself to convince a dealer to do it...is there a real fix possible? Like, a REVISED design with less metal on rubber contact area and/or more capable boots? I just can't...
I have gotten way more respect, compliments, and stares than any hate. I've given a few v8 friends for rides and they love it. Sometimes people try to get ahead of me when I'm trying to merge on onramps...god I love when I get a green light to boost like that...
Love it. I don't even see this as function over form. Its a badass racecar-style mod which functions. I see it and in my head there is no debate about if it looks good enough. Its awesome. When I see a mod like this that is actually useful and going to be used for its purpose and not for looks...
Looks awesome, I'm jealous...one day I'll be comfortable enough with my paint to let a photographer take pictures of mine. I know how to hide mine's flaws in the shadows real nice ; )
Lol, I should've remembered they were all OBDII, it was just the way I read azdave's last post there that threw me off. That and I wanted to get back to focusing on mah fuel pump. Oh well, internet mistakes be damned. I got my fuel pump in with no real issues, thanks for clearing that up for me...
So im doing a fuel pump upgrade while following the vfaq, and I found that the top of my fuel pump assembly has this extra connector on it...my search only brought up topics with no answers as to what it actually is. I looked up the numbers on it and its a pressure sensor. As of right now, I...
I have a Mishimoto radiator($217 from extremepsi.com), stock fans, and a little Mishimoto Type Z FMIC(28" x 7.5" x 2.5"), A/C still in place(and recharged for summer :P). Here in KS its been getting 105+ like every day, but no overheating problems. I had overheating issues before with the stock...
I made a topic like this when my dsm was down because I drove into a curb at like 5mph lol. It upset me and not very many things can upset me like that did. It made me realize how much I love my car! I hope that one day I can say that I have personally attended to every single everything on this...
Just like that actually. It took me a couple trys to get it right, but I just popped it off and set it and ive checked it with multiple gps speedo's and its like within .5 mph every time I check.
I'm not saying you hang out with douches or anything, I'm just saying I stay away from topics like that and people who do that in general. I didn't mean to offend you :( People are always going to call cars rice that aren't is all I'm saying, and putting more attention on them can make it worse...
Yes, changing a ball joint will mess with your alignment. I'd rather not mention how much money I've lost on tires because I neglected to get an alignment when I knew I should've...
You gave them the attention they wanted. Im just saying. Its all just talk. Shit talk is worthless, and anyone who joins in the hating is just spouting more harmless talk. Idk, I just stay completely away from crowds like that.
Your symptoms sound exactly like a balljoint is going bad. If it goes bad while your car is in motion you will lose control of your car and cause alot more damage. Find the problem and fix it the right way(no ebay control arms).Movement like this in any of the balljoints means it needs to be...
Quoted for truth. Sometimes I come across my thoughts expressed through someone else's words and it makes me feel all good inside. Laws, police, judges, the whole system is one of the many things wearing away at basic human compassion for each other and I think its awesome that you aren't gonna...
I have a GST, but I am more than happy with the Tokico Illumina Adjustable Shocks + 1.5" lowering springs. The GSX i believe is a 1.75" drop which I plan on switching to when the AWD swap inevitably happens.
I don't mean to sound like an ass, but "Wherefore?" means "for what reason?" So its more like, "Winter, wherefore art thou Winter?" or maybe "Spring, wherefore have you not arrived?" Idk, I learned that on the internet when school didn't make sense...I hate Shakespeare...
I wasn't trying to be offensive, you just said you "guess" it game with a 4g63 and a turbo and you were unsure about things. I was just double checking so that we can help you the best we can :thumb:
I forgot to clarify as long as it is from a 95-99 GST(NOT an RS, GS, or GSX), then yes. Its seems like you are kinda unclear about what kinda car you have though. If the engine looks like this(4g63):
http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/3/368/941/25917970003_large.jpgand you have no...
I bet the confusion lies in that it is a "lifetime" safety recall, and therefore if the original balljoints are bad at any time they must be replaced because DSM decided it could be declared a manufacturing defect in almost every case. I bet reps at the Chrysler and Mitsu HQ's mistake this for...
JDM = Japan Domestic Market (made for the japanese market)
DSM = Diamond Star Motors (made by diamond star motors)Your car would be a DSM because eclipses up to 1999 are considered to be DSM's. All JDM eclipses are DSMs(because they were made at the DSM factory), but it really doesn't matter...
If he also has an upgraded fuel pump, 550s at 15psi on a 20g shouldn't be a problem, a/f-wise. Road Race Engineering recommends 550s and an upgraded fuel pump for up to 18psi on upgraded turbos on pump gas.15psi on a 20g should be like 260whp-280whp. He would need pretty much all the...

Routine oil & filter changes, check/get the ball joints checked, buy a Haynes or Chiltons repair manual(they have a troubleshooting section for any odd noises or oddly functioning things)
and from the tech guide:"So you want more power out of your 2G turbo DSM? Make sure you learn a few things...
It's different for almost every car with the most important factor being the the tune. If a car runs E85 it will bump your cc requirements up alot, if you are using c16 just for one dyno pull its a whole different story. Alot of people get bigger injectors because the pricing isn't all that...
The flange in this picture is what is welded on top of the pipe, you need one that matches up with the bottom of the type s. If it doesn't match up, you will need the old one taken off/new piping and a new one welded on.It needs to be flush with the bottom of the type s like this:
I think most people here are assuming this $500 is all that will go towards your performance upgrades, but your DSM info says you already have upgraded internals, and a 16g. I really haven't seen much of anything suggesting that 500hp is even attainable with a 16g, let alone on $500. Fuel...
I have only ever seen good reviews of the NGR Type S, and alot of diaphram issues(including mine) with the Greddy Type S. +1 on the SSQV, or even that newish Synapse Engineering Synchronic BOV.
