that sucks, you really would probably be better off just shelling out for the rebuild and not take him to court, tell him to pay half of the cars repairs and you'll settle for that. You may not win if you go to court since hes the mechanic and you took it apart yourself, that was a bad move if...
Depending on how wide the wheel is, i have some 17" tsw's on my car with 255/40/17's and they dont rub(unless theres people sititng in the back around hard corners) but my car isnt lowered or anything... i'd stay with a 235 for clearance reasons
If you really want to make some power, buy this from me. Although i doubt your motor could hold up to it ;) should put about 800crank down.http://www.dsmtuners.com/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=9578&sort=1&cat=7&page=1
and with that you will need an intercooler to support it, try...
Yeah, i used to have a big t28 killer on my daily, sold it, got a 14b, the 14b died, so im buying an evo3 16g, should be in today hopefully if not by monday, and i'll post which i like better :)
If you get the t28 go with the big t28 killer, its an awesome turbo, full boost by 3500, and pulls great to redline, and outflows or flows just the same as a big 16
The IC was originally going on our 1g project car... but im moving now so the deals not gonna go through so i'm gonna start modding my gs-t again... Anyone wanna trade up for this beast :)
I'm starting to build up my eclipse... gonna stay on stock motor, ultimately going for 450whp on race gas, and 350 or so on pump... I traded an old cell phone for an msd dis2 ignition... do i need it? or should i sell it... I know that the stock ignition is good for what i want... but would this...
Ok, i have a 97 :dsm: gst and a 34 x 14 x 4 front mount(including end tanks). I was told by someone that i will have to remove my ac? I know i will have to cut alot. Does anyone on here have an ic that big on thier car? Post pics if ya can, thanks.
I have a 97 gst,5spd, super20g, all supporting mods.... etc.... i'm thinking of converting to automatic.... getting a big stall, etc.... what size stall would i need, i should have full boost by 3700 or so...... I like racing from a stop which i find almost impossible even with my lsd.... i...
you need some supporting mods.... of course im not one to talk, i have a super20g, and stock fuel and stock IC, i have all the shit, just my dsmlink is being ### and im using stock fuel and i need some new IC piping....
If you're asking this question... most likely not, however, if you get someone who knows that they're doing to tune the car then yes its very possible... people dip into the 12's on stock turbos with supporting mods.
I'm thinking of going with a 50shot.... to cool everything down a bit and get some extra power... right now i have the car tuned with pretty much no knock... think the motor can handle it??? im running 22lbs on the 20g.Here is a mod list....6 bolt JDM Swap(stock longblock)
1g Intake...
haltech so i've heard is a PAIN in the ASS to install... but its a really good system once you get it all up and working.... To get dsmlink to work, im sure you'd just have to rewire your wiring harness to fit a 2g ecu....If you have the money i'd go with AEM or the Haltech, but if you wanna...
No experience with haltech, but i've used the aem and dsmlink, both are badass... dsmlink is definitely the best without going standalone... and the aem is badass cause its plug and play
Is the nonturbo intake manifold the same as the turbo on the 1g's, i didnt think they were but i've seen pics and it looks like they are i am thinking maybe the ports are different sizes... someone please let me know asap... Thanks alot
Well, your work will be cut in half, but also, tuning the car will end up being alot easier, you will get much better times by getting an awd car, and common sense plays a big factor in this also, but just my .02 cents
Question is, how far will the power i have push me up to, i've heard our cars are great at high speeds cause of how aerodynamic they are... Even the 1g's are pretty aerodynamical so i've heard.
The only reason its a flaming war is because a stock 1g 6bolt motor can handle a mildly tuned 550hp+ and the 420a is good for about 300hp finely tuned... i used to have a 420a, this is just how it is.
How fast would my car be able to top out? 97 gst, putting down approximately 330whp, stock suspension, stock tranny. 225/45/16's dont know what factors might play a roll in this. I don't wanna try it so just curious what it'd be capable of, i do have dsmlink so no governor anymore.also im...
Swap isnt too hard, may take a lil more time if you've never done it b4, shaving motor mounts, transferring accessories and what not, all in all, not too hard.
