Will my tranny fit a neon? I have a non turbo 95 standard tranny that my friend wants for his neon. His neon im not sure is probably around the same year. Are they the same? Thanks
I came across this picture on some guys page who had just bought a DSM... thought it was funny because thats pretty much the amount of money you should set aside so you can afford to fix the damn DSM every time it breaks down.
yeah tell me about it i've went through two and they both dont' work anymore. i guess i need to look for another cluster :(AND in response to turbosax2's question: the needle does not move at all, ever. When it first started failing it would be erratic and drop down and up and down and up...
I installed a set of those white faced indiglo gauges but it worked fine for a long time after. It hasn't been working for a while but Im about to sell the car so I want to fix it. I dont think it is caught on the plastic though.
Ever since my cousin and uncle changed my timing belt my car sounds like its misfiring (when it is first turned on) and sounds like that until it warms up. Also the worst part is that it is smoking A LOT. Its a white looking smoke that smells nasty. I'm thinking they didn't do the timing...
I'm also looking for one of these control units, anybody know where I can get my hands on one? Or I can try to visit some junk yards, but i dont know what it looks like or where its located, can you all post a picture?thanks
The air conditioning in my car was working fine one day and the next day it doesn't blow cold air anymore. It blows the usual amount of air it just isn't cold. I figured if it was due to lack of freeon (or whatever its called R34 or something like that) it would gradually go from cooling good to...
Hey guys so luckily i felt like checking out my engine today after I installed my new battery and unluckily i looked under the car and it was leaking oil at a rapid rate. So i took some pictures and video of the general area that I saw the leaking from. It seems to be coming out of this plug...
I just remembered I thought I saw a tad bit of smoke coming from the engine bay yesterday when I was driving and this morning my car wouldn't start due to a dead battery. After researching old threads I am thinking that maybe my pump is leaking and it leaked fluid onto my alternator :( Although...
oh yeah and just to top it off my car wouldn't start today due to a dead battery.... now im thinking i might have a bad battery or worse a bad alternator.... DAMN IT
thanks guys i hope its just a loose belt, my A/C compressor just went out like 2 weeks ago and if my PS pump went out too im going to be highly pissed... this is the reason i am trying to sell this car, unreliable bastard.
also my A/C compressor has a bad clutch so the pulley to the compressor is just spinning freely without engaging the clutch in the compressor... i dont know if maybe that is causing the belt to be erratic... I assume the steering pump and the A/C compressor is on the same belt. just another...
Lately when I am turning sharp turns the steering wheel seems to stop at certain points of the rotation like its getting stopped or getting blocked by something. Then there is screeching noises coming from I don't know where... either my the tire area or somewhere under the hood when I am making...
You have a good point, it would make me mad. I was kind of turned off at the post in general because he is wanting so much for a car that really isn't all he is hyping it up to be. He claims to have won numerous car shows and i wonder the validity of that, unless the competition was poo poo. His...
i know some of ya'll hate honda's but i have to admit they are reliable and like joey said have a good resale value. im talking to this guy about a trade and this is pretty much what I will probably be trading for:1997 honda civic.
http://www.mautofied.com/listing-100066517.htmi know...
haha some true and funny posts. thanks for the suggestions guys, i did some researching myself and found out that alero's have a lot of (window mechanism problems, electrical problems, rotor/brakes/the whole damn thing problems, and some other stuff) so yeah I won't be trading for that alero...
i agree with everyone else black is the way to go, but i also think some cars can pull off the mirror tint look (although i would think this tint is illegal or at least get you pulled over often). just my 2 cents
thanks for the replies guys, oh and why are you all hating on chevy's????? i'd take a silverado over a f-150 or a dodge any day! i dont care what you all say the new avalanches are sexy :)
I want some opinions before I make a mistake or a good decision. I've been selling my car for a while now but nobody has bought it yet. So this guy wants to trade me a 2000 alero that looks pretty nice. I know it doesn't have many mods like my talon but by now im looking for something dependable...

amen to that, you will definitely see my talon in a rest area for about an hour or two if I'm really sleepy at the wheel. i think the blue interior lights would look pretty clean only because it matches my stereo color and my indiglo gauges, but I also like the idea of using red light to see...
My car is throwing off a code 55 (Idle air control (IAC) valve position sensor fault.) It started throwing this code when my car won't start anymore. Does anybody know if the IAC going bad would cause my car not to turn on at all? I've been doing some reading on the BISS but am not familiar...
Ok so my check engine light read a code 55. Which I found to be (Idle air control (IAC) valve position sensor fault.) if I am not mistaken. Does anybody know where this is or how to fix it?edit:I found this ebay link showing an IAC, is this the part that has gone bad in my car...
i know where you are coming from and it is something to think about because it could harm some parts, but my argument is that it is functional and nobody has posted complaints about water damaging their parts. Just to prove it to you with data results i'll perform the damn experiment on a...
i have better stuff to do than taking my time to test under hood temperatures in my almost stock car. but i know it is functional... how you ask? all i have to do is place my hands over the vents and feel the fans blowing air straight onto the headers and then out of the vents... its quiet nice...
and if it were to be the tensioner, what do you think is an estimate that a shop would charge to install a new one if i bought the tensioner? am i looking at a lot of money here?
Not that I have to explain myself to you oldman but my intentions were never to turn my 420A into a track car. Its just my first vehicle bought for 700 bucks, I've never wanted to make it fast. If I wanted a fast dsm i would have started with a gsx and went from there. My car doesn't have to be...
im pretty sure water gets in there but a lot of people (including me) have similar mods i think its called the greyforest hood mod. Anyway I've had it for a long time and had no problems with it.
Ok so I try to turn my car on a couple of hours ago and it won't even try to crank or turn over or anything... kind of like if the battery was dead.... BUT the battery is not dead. The CEL is flashing slowly which I haven't seen before and I am hoping can point me in the right direction...
When you think about it, you chose the best way to lay out the vents..... some people think that you should have done it backwards.... and it would in fact induce a lot of air into your engine while driving BUT when it is raining it would be throwing A LOT of water all over your engine. The way...
I believe that is what they are called. the little C shaped pieces of metal ( two per valve ) in the engine that hold the valve. well my cousin and uncle were checking to see if my valves were bent after a timing belt install when the car didn't start. one of them flew out so now i need another...
here is a link to my cardomain page so you can look at several angles of the way I did my 2 tone paint job: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2612015.If i could go back I probably would go with black and red.... and not paint the wing and the end of the hatch black.
