  1. You chose GT35r or holset hx-35/40?

Just wondering, what are the limitations on pump gas (93) with the HX40? It looks like such a good turbo, and the spool-up is amazing.
  2. Products the DSM crowd would like to see made

I also feel that 1gs need a gauge solution for the steering column that doesnt block everything. Make the whole thing out of black abs, top and bottom, and be able to mount a gauge or two. We need alot more 1g parts too!!!
  3. Electric Door Lock Problem

hey guys. About 3 weeks back, my alternator's voltage regulator went, and blew most of the fuses and relays in my car. Fixed everything else, but I'm having a problem with my door locks. Both sides will lock, but both dont open. I have to manually unlock each door. I'm baffled as the locking...
  4. 1g Fuel tank New $900.00

Call Mitsu Gary at Mitsubishi Graveyard...he's ###### got what you need, thats where I got my replacement tank from when I did my resto. If not, then use the rivet method, but also pick up some Permatex "Right-Stuff". It's fuel impervious and will act as a great sealer. I used it on the top...
  5. Stock decals 1g

Heya guys, can we still get the 1g decals for our carsm like the GSX or GS-T decals forthe back, and Turbocharged 16valve decals for the side?
  6. A committed DSMer

  8. Converting/Modernizing front suspension

I also have interest in the 1g setups. Can they actually be converted to the 2g/evo style dual-wishbone setups?
  9. Previous owner put negative on positive!!

Assuming his battery has a charge, the car would at least turn over, even without the alternator or ecu. So first check that black fuse, and if no crank, then check the charge in the battery. If it cranks and doesnt fire, check the fuses on the positive cable in that little box. If those fuses...
  10. Previous owner put negative on positive!!

First thing to check if there is no power at all is the 80amp fuse in your engine bay. Its the black one there. When my mom hooked the battery up in my car one time (stupid choice on my part ) thats what popped. Sorry for the picture quality, I was shaking in the 15degree weather.
  11. 1g Rear Subframe Energy Suspension Question

Anyone know if rear subframe bushings are available? I need them because of this.
  12. Fuel pump sensor wires?

I didnt think 1gs had a low level light? Mine never comes on. But thanks for the information. I really appreciate it.
  13. Fuel pump sensor wires?

Call me crazy, but I don't see any information about the level sensor and that other sensor wire on vFAQ.
  14. Fuel pump sensor wires?

Heya guys, I just did the fuel pump rewire from the battery to the actual fuel pump, and I've had the assembly off for about two weeks now, and I forgot where the fuel level sensor, and that other sensor wire attaches to on the car side. Right now I have a yellow wire and a yellow with blue...
  15. Hella H4 Headlight Upgrade

Hmm...How do projectors perform compared to Silverstars?
  16. Hella H4 Headlight Upgrade

Just curious, are there any real lighting upgrades for us 1gb'ers?
  17. Vacuum Hoses?

I have a newb question, lol.So the J-Pipe is definitely the best place to tap for the MBC, but what about an AFPR and the Boost Gauge? Any optimal tap locations for those?
  18. Datalogging cable won't work. Would you mind looking at it?

Is it realistically totaled or just in bad shape? Thats unfortunate man.
  19. Datalogging cable won't work. Would you mind looking at it?

I replied in the other thread, it looks fine. You do have that cable with the diode on it eventually splitting into two cables right? You should have 3 connectors on the car side altogether.
  20. Check out my datalogger cable (homemade)

It actually looks like the cable was built correctly. The quality could have been a bit better and you could have made it more compact, but thats fine. You are using a palm serial cable right? You said that mmCd doesn't connect?
  21. Project: 1GB Talon Restoration and more

Alright, a small update.Painted passenger front wheel well. Removed balance shafts and turned the new bearings. Front case cleaned and back on the engine.Picking the engine hoist up today and going to prep the engine and engine bay for the engine drop in. Hopefully that goes down...
  22. Check out my datalogger cable (homemade)

So you guys are still interested in the powered cables? If the original guy who was going to develop the powered cable doesnt complete it, Ill go ahead and do it.Id be interested to find out if all Palms use the same voltage batteries.
  23. doesnt boost at all now and no vaccum

    SPELLING!! :thumb: :D
  24. Check out my datalogger cable (homemade)

Can you post pictures up of your wire so we can determine if it was put together correctly?
  25. cam lockers 4g63?

Thats a pretty expensive "tool". Are you having problems with using the alligator clip method?
  26. ALDL Cable for a 1g

MMCd, the best palm based datalogging software available. Of course thats opinion based though.:thumb: I think others can agree with me. Just type up MMCd in google and youll find it.
  27. Photo shoot!!

Haha nice, pay some respect for your original NY DSMer's man!
  28. Project: 1GB Talon Restoration and more

Next update....Painted the engine bay, looks beautiful.Next Section: 1. Finish painting front suspension 2. Take care of rust spots in the wheel wells 3. Weld rear sheet on the rear of the car 4. Increase the gauge of the wire inside the fuel pump assembly 5. Paint the Gas Tank and...
  29. Fuel Tank Plate Studs

Studs or bolts... Im pretty sure the plate is actually welded onto the gas tank, and the studs or bolts were set in place before the welding process, therefore there is a hollow space between the two plates. you wot be able to get a stud to grab onto anything as far as I know.
  30. Fuel Tank Plate Studs

Heya guys, Wrapping up the loose ends on my restoration project.http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=260234I ran into a problem though, the used gas tank I purchased has 3 of the 6 studs broken off. What can I do to remedy the problem? Id like to be able to remove the fuel...
  31. Project: 1GB Talon Restoration and more

Cleaned the engine bay for the past two days. Sunday I'm going to primer the bad sections, and paint the rest. I never knew the car actually looked this good under all that dirt and grease. :thumb:
  32. Project: 1GB Talon Restoration and more

Those last three pics are of wet paint. But its painted! The next objective is to paint the seam where the rollpans and the floor pan meet on both side going all the way up to the front, and the wheel wells. Going to be painting the inside of that back panel at the same time so we can weld it...
  33. Project: 1GB Talon Restoration and more

Huge update, jesus, this is taking forever!I officially painted half the underbody! The other half doesn't need paid because of the rubberized undercoating on it, but Ive got a few spots to touch up. Gotta do a little painting in the engine bay, and then throw a second coat under the car...
  34. lasers to turn possibly into circle track racers

Since you said "stock" motor, I would definitely consider the 4G63T, since that was a factory engine, and it has an additional 60-ish hp above the non-turbo 4G63.
  35. Project: 1GB Talon Restoration and more

Heya guys, Updating... I havent posted pictures like I promised I would, but that will change tomorrow. My buddy came over and we plowed out alot of the rust, with more still to go, but the way we're progressing, I think we may have paint on the bottom of the car tomorrow. I am going to take...
  36. Project: 1GB Talon Restoration and more

Ah boy this is hard work. I'm not going to be anal about getting the metal clean-clean anymore, it's impeding on the progress big time. Just going to take off most of it, get it decent, and then POR15 over it. I ordered all my parts last night, with just a couple more to purchase.
  37. I still love my DSM's

You guys need to read a little better, lol.Pry against something pushing the pulleys outwards. It should pull them off, although I've never had the problem of them sticking on there. Most DSMers have a hard time putting them back on cause they won't stay. Do not apply excessive pressure on the...
  38. 1GB Talon Panda Code

Nevermind, the white color code is W12.
  39. Project: 1GB Talon Restoration and more

I've found the secret weapon for most of the rust. A grinder with a sand disk on it. Then whatever nooks and crannies I cannot get with the grinder, Ill bust out the sandblaster and tidy that up real quick. Its raining here for the next couple days, so if I get a chance on sunday and it isn't...
  40. Project: 1GB Talon Restoration and more

Ah boy, the wirebrush didnt do shit. I bought this really abrasive disk for the drill, I just cant find it...someone moved my ES bushings box also with no trace. Noone knows anything...
  41. Project: 1GB Talon Restoration and more

Im taking a break from blasting. It seems that alot of this junk is coming off and there is VERY clean metal underneath. The blaster uses so much air that my 5hp 100gallon compressor cannot keep up and is recharging every 30seconds of constant blasting. So I am going to go gather some of the...
  42. 1GB Talon Panda Code

Heya, It seems that I need a little assistance with determining the color white my panda 1g talon is. The DSM plate under my hood is unreadable aside from the DSM logo, and the paint code thread doesn't do me justice. Can anyone put a finger on the color code?

  45. Project: 1GB Talon Restoration and more

Wow dude, you've been registered here for 2 years, and that is your first post, I'm honored. :)Also, you cannot do a body-off restoration on these cars, they are unibody's. The body and the frame are "one".You wont believe how nice the AWD pulls, its pretty sick, even stock. Good luck...
  46. Project: 1GB Talon Restoration and more

That's going a little overboard especially with this car. I mean, if what the other guys said what true, and it most likely is, I can find a solid car in the southwest, and thats when I would go "balls out" on it and make it perfect, but I am taking something that isn't the best and just making...
  47. Project: 1GB Talon Restoration and more

Picked up all the parts to run -6 AN SS line from the actual pump to the filter today. I purchased 20ft to be safe. Anyone actually know how long of a cut I do need to complete this? I'm hoping I have alot of extra material left over for running water lines and etc. :D
  48. Project: 1GB Talon Restoration and more

I'll be quite honest with you man, I wouldn't travel that far for a car for many reasons. Uncertainty would be the first reason. It would be like buying a car off of eBay, you don't see it until you pick it up or it is shipped to your house. And I do foresee the expenses I will accumulate...
  49. Project: 1GB Talon Restoration and more

Just providing a little update to let you guys know that I haven't given up on this project....yet. :thumb:I've been making frequent visits to Mitsubishi Graveyard to purchase the body parts that I needed. I've also been working around certain vendor websites putting together a shopping list...
