Shep only made one pass before I left, low 9 sec. Yes, there were lots of chicks there but i'm not wasteing film on women who are so damn skinny that their ass cheeks don't touch together. And I will repost pics in actual size only if a MOD tells me it's ok b/c they're huge. I got a couple more...
I don't really like the idea of parting my car out b/c I don't want to get stuck with more parts lying around. I'm also thinking of throwing my laptop in with the dsm (for tuning purposes in case someone buys a stand-alone unit after I sell the car to them.) To be honest I have more fun...
It's funny that I happened upon this thread b/c i'm actually considering selling my car. I plan on having it tuned before selling it. I'm thinking of somewhere around 6k, b/c i've viewed alot of the modded 1g's in the classifieds and considering the parts installed on my car and the fact of the...
Alright, maybe I was talking out my ass. It's really hard to say what we'd do unless we were in that situation. More than likely I woulda got my ass handed to me, so I probably would have done one of two things.... Either stand and fight or let the dumbass swing on me while my wife gets away and...
Well if you absolutely had to pop a cap in his amazon ass, aim below the knees. I'm pretty sure it's less time in the clink (plus you'd get to watch him roll around on the floor like a bi*** and you could taunt him and call him funny names :tease: ). I had a .45 at one time, but I sold it...
I'd like to think if I was in that situation that I would react with cat-like reflexes.....but then again i'm 24, 5'7 and about 215lbs. People can say what they want to me but come at my wife or child and you're a walking dead man. Not trying to sound like a badass or anything but i'm the type...
Check out vfaq.com . I beleive it will help you out greatly. When I replaced mine I replaced all belts/tensioners/pullies at the same time. My luck would be a new timing belt installed only to have the balance shaft belt break and tangle into the timing belt resulting in a toasted motor. Maybe...
"Hey man, whats that big radiator lookin thing on your car?"
While at the local track one day I overheard 2 closed minded people talking......Mullet 1 to Mullet 2 "Imports are for ###s" and as the old diamond star clicked off a low 11 second 1/4 mile beating the hell out of the v8...
This whole week has been screwed up with me being on-call. I left home today at 3pm and i'm just now getting home. I stopped by GMU at about 5:30 this evening but no one was around, then I remembered that you guys might go to the Burger King on rt 28 in Manassass so I got there around 6:15 and...
I skated for about 6 years, broke my left ankle trying to land a 360 flip. Well, after that I decided to stop skateing and got into punk rock. Now I have an entire dresser full of punk clothes.....I guess it'll be something cool to show my daughter one day.
Alright, thanks man. Sorry for the late reply, but i'm on-call this week and i'm currently sitting in Centreville. I got in bed at 10 pm and got called out at midnight.....Uncle Sam is gonna "love me long time" this week.
It was on the car when I bought it. Its an aftermarket stainless steel line with rubber core attached with AN fittings. I asked a guy at slowboys and he said not to but he did not elaborate. He said not to get any tape on the AN threads, any ideas why? :dsm: :thumb:
Hey Nuke, did you get your car running yet? I'm still in the process of tearing mine apart. I've got to remove my whole set-up due to the AC and the power steering hardlines rubbing the FMIC. I also have to repair my oil return due to leakage, should I use teflon tape on my fittings to eliminate...
I bought mine with ALOT of current mods already performed. It all depends how good you are at fixing problems. I enjoy working on cars, so it wasn't a problem for me. Currently i'm re-wiring all aftermarket electronics, and i've had the motor completely dismantled to have the head shaved due to...
Dude, don't feel bad. I too have the SUPER AFR, and its hard as hell to figure out. The best I could do was cut the fuel back as far as it would go, then increase it until I reached 750 celceus on a full pull in 3rd. I'm running really rich (we're talking less than 100 miles to the tank), so I...
I fought with the same situation, couldn't find the leak unless I had boosted the car then parked it. When I jacked the car up for an oil change I found that the oil filter was REALLY REALLY loose. Turns out the oil cooler bolt that attaches it to the block was almost loose enough to fall out. I...
I wish there was a way to dump it out the side, like on drag cars(usually in front of the front wheel). That would scare the hell outta someone beside me at full boost :D . Actually I might try that......... The only problem would be cutting the hole in the body to expose the end of the...
As far as know these are the factory axles, I already had one spare from my buddy's parts car so I just went ahead and bought another. At first I was only gonna replace the boots, but I figured i'd just replace the whole thing instead.
And thats just what they did :p . Don't worry I have set of new oem axles waiting to go in. I just had to share these pics. Axles have approximately 140,000 miles on them.
I have the same problem, I haven't figured out how to remedy this one yet. I tried applying heat wrap supposedly good up to 2000 degrees but it's starting to burn.
(in regards to jessestalon stated above)Thank Christ someone else sees the light :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Like I said before, who cares how it looks, as long as it hauls ass. If innovative people were afraid to try their ideas we'd all still be sitting around clanking rocks together and...
I really don't give a shit what people think about the looks of my car. The civic I owned before my DSM looked like a shitbox, black steelies, stock height, missing hangers on exhaust, etc... People would stare and laugh and then I would bust their ass up and down the road. Who cares what it...
Well, I won't be attending the GMU meet......I'm on-call that week  . I suppose if I'm in the area I could stop by in the work truck. Do you guys think I should be concerned about installing my ACT 2600 and Extreme flywheel? I've read so much crap about this stuff and I'm beginning to worry...
I'm totally stumped with your problem. The last thing you mentioned about the stuttering, my car does it also......I figured out it was a broken connection at the MAS....or so I hope. The boost thing gets me, I don't understand why you would be spiking. What mods have you done to the car?
Other than what crazydevil said, perhaps you have a tensioner going bad, bad water pump or oil pump that is on its way out. If its not MAS related it has to be something belt driven...ie reacts to fluctuation of RPM's. So your saying the car physically will not exceed 35 mph and or 3000 rpm's? I...
What do you mean whining noise? Is it coming from intake or from the motor itself? Go out, start your car and pop your hood, manipulate the throttlebody cable to rev the motor and see if you can determine or pinpoint the source of the noise. Let me know what you find out.
PS stay clear of all...
I would say no, but hopefully someone who has been around DSM's awhile will chime in. When I was into Hondas we would always take fine grit sandpaper and scuff the surface of the flywheel prior to installing for more grip, not sure if this was good/bad but I never had any problems. Really if you...
Mine's down right now, putting on a second hand oem bumper, HKS gears, ACT 2600, ACT Extreme flywheel, SAFC-2, Power Enterprises timing belt, new oem axles, new alternator, eliminating vac lines, and basically re-wiring all aftermarket electronics installed prior to me purchasing the car. New...
Go with the cast manifold. I have a GT-12 and a cast manifold...it works fine. I too wanted a tubular manifold, but I'm saving the cash for a Magnus intake mani. :shhh:
Sorry for the late reply. All the cars at the Moose are usually muscle cars and tubbed out hotrod/dragsters but cool none the less  . My wife and I stopped by Bulletts one evening coming home from Winchester to check the cars. We followed a hotrod with a smallblock, wrinklewall slicks, and...
I leave the house around 6:30 am and I usually get to work between 8:00 & 9:00 am. In the evenings I leave work around 5:00 and I get home at 6:30, except for Friday nights which usually take 2+ hours commute time. I HATE NORTHERN VIRGINIA TRAFFIC  , oh well it gives me plenty of time to...
I started tearing down my car last night so hopefully it will be done by GMU time. I took off that horrid body kit and was really suprised at the size of the FMIC  . I definately have my work cut out for me----the MAS was upgraded to a 2g MAS and whoever did it used butt connectors to...
Thanks you guys, Adam and I were discussing that vacuum/pressure thing but I didn't want to sound like a complete tool if we were wrong. I'm still trying to get used to the whole MAS system. Damn, DSM's would be perfect if they hadn't installed those MAS setups. Oh well, when life gives you...
I'm getting ready to tear into my gsx and was wondering if I could move the MAS in between the bov and tb instead of buying a GM MAS & translator? My buddy and I were discussing it and we are curious as to whether or not it will function properly. If it won't work could you please...
My car does the same thing, it's like bigglesworth said if your bov is vented with no return to the intake then when you let off the gas your car will actually "flood". I understand this is because the computer can't monitor the amount of air being released through the bov and therefore...
I'm doing the same thing with my 1g. Home Depot/Lowe's = stucco wire, Autozone = black paint for mesh stucco wire, as stated above small holes for zip ties color match accordingly. :D :dsm: :thumb:
I say go for it. I sold my 91 hatch w/ a swapped b16a and bought my gsx. I wouldn't bang gears like you can with a Honda, you'll make up for lost time via the turbo :p It's nice not to have to worry about traction or torque steer anymore. As far as reliability goes...like with any car the more...
Thats cool, Chris isn't like that he's 30+ years old. He may try to run someone on 66 if challenged but i'll tell him to be cool if he comes. :dsm: :thumb:
I'm hoping to attend in March. Do you think anyone will object if I invite my buddy Chris (turbo civic) and his gf Katherine (impreza 2.5rs)? I think they would have a really good time. Although he does drive a Honda, Chris is like the majority of us... he likes anything that someone has put...
We def. need to all meet up sometime. Right now my moneypit is in the garage awaiting a gaggle of goodies :D . I haven't torn it down yet but it will happen soon. I also work in fairfax and eat/sleep in strasburg so I feel your pain nukefission. Whats wrong with your car? Whenever you guys want...
Everything is fine now, I jumped it off and got it into the garage yesterday evening. I will post pics after I tear it down and put it back together again. :dsm: :thumb:
