1) AWD will almost always out-perform FWD around corners.
2) Dragging from a stop, AWD will win on the launch, but the fwd will start catching up in higher gears because of less weight/power-loss
3)From a roll, FWD will have the advantage for the same reason it'll start to catch up ^^^.
My opinion is it wouldn't look very good, but you shouldn't care what I think and do what you think looks good.Performance wise it would introduce a slight restriction at the 'Y' but other than that I don't see any other problems with it. Remember, straighter is better with turbo exhaust.
I had to wait 5 months, only got to look at 3 cars (2 1g AWD's and My GVR4) before I finally picked up the Galant. They are out there, but it takes time to find a one you want.
sounds like a bad CV joint, get under the car and check out the boots on the half-shafts. if their torn, you can either service the CV joint, or replace the half-shaft...
NO! Ok, here's what a boost controller does, in lamen terms. It limits the amount of pressure the Waste Gate "sees", so that the waste gate starts to open later, thus allowing more boost to build up.I wont get into the mechanics of exactly how the boost controller works, because I'd probably...
Bad93ex: If you want a hacked MAS to try out on the car, but don't wanna screw with your good one, I have an extra I'll give you, you'll just pay shipping. Give me a PM.
here's the thing, the other paint isn't being hit with the worst of it. heat rises, and when the paint is subject to that much heat over a long period of time it will start to peel and come up.
OUCH!!If you did something like that, might wanna put a disclamor on your window though. something like "WARNING! Tempering with this vehicle may result in physical injury. Touch at your own risk."That way the thief can't say he was just "admiring your ride and it attacked him"LOL...
Anyone have a picture of this clip. I'm doing a ball joint replacement and can't seem to press them out (I have a ball joint press), but I don't see any c-clip on the current ball joint.
She's been "down" longer than a month, but I've only owned her 2 weeks. She's sitting in my garage on jack stands with a hole in the tranny for an axle, the tie rod hanging loose, and waiting for the ball joint to pop out so I can replace everything. Then i gotta do it to the other side(minus...
contact ebay about it, they might be able to help you find him and press charges for false advertisement etc, or at leats help you get your money back.
I'd say the only way you can garuntee a good paint job from MAACO is if you do all the prep work yourself, remove the trim you don't want painted over, and then go there when the car is being done and make sure they taped up and covered everything you don't wanted painted, i.e windows :)
yeah, if u buy a coost controller, it'll solve your problems. the boost controler takes out the need for a bcs, it does the same thing.bcs = boost control solenoid :thumb:
I've had Krylon fusion on my dash (the vynal stuff) for about 10 months now. It survived a harsh winter and is still holing strong, much better than the other types of spray i tried when doing the interior.
Hey guys, so here's the deal. On the first try to start the car, If i just crank it, it try's to turn over but doesn;t catch, unless I give it some throttle, in which case it idles and dies. Then, whether i gave it throttle or not, on the next try and cranking it, it usually starts (quicker if i...
The front passenger side CV boot is torn and when the car is moved (running or not) there is a grinding noise from that area. Would I need to replace the whole passenger side drive shaft, is there a simpilar solution. Do you think the wheel bearing is shot? Thanks in advance for replies.
On the Mirage, I know it was the blue with white stripe. check where they are rounted.
black is most definatly ground. 2 of the wires should go to the light, and then the other one (beside the ground), should go to the lighter.
neither, get mom and dad to buy you new tires (or loan you the money for them if you REALLY don't have it. 2 front tires, should be about $100 - $120 installed). It really isn't safe running with those tires on your car, front or back. Here's the dif tho. On the front, when you brake hard or...
No. You wont be making any more subtansial hp until you can get a less restrictive exhaust in the car, and do the fuel mods to safely turn the boost up.
Talk to your insurence comapny about it. If a ticket like that will raise ur insurence, or start you on the way to higher insurence, fight it, becuas ehten it could cost you more then $63 in the long run. If it wont affect anything, just pay it off, $63 isn't worth the hassle, imo.
Well, not the highlight of my day, but of my week. I closed the deal for a 92 Galant VR-4 saturday, the day of my High School Graduation. Happy Graduation to me :) Plus, with money from relatives, I'm only gonna be out about $300 of my REAL money.
Again, this isn't from expirience, but I'd say 15 psi would probably be the max, and even then I'd rewire the fuel pump to be safe (it's like a $10 mod, just need to buy the larger gauge wire)
From my understanding (not experience) you can run the 16g with a completely stock setup and be fine. You will see small gains because it will be pushing more air at the same boost. If you want to up the boost however, you'll need to rewire the fuel pump (or better yet, replace it with a higher...
What rice is and isn't is a matter of personal opinion. To some, anything but stock is rice (even an aftermarket exhaust  ), to other's, it's the standard "honda" barkbench wing, slammed suspension, and body kit with neon's etc...Don't go by what others think, if you want to do it, and...
Actually OBDII was for model year 96+, but mitsu Initiated OBDII in the 95 Model year (so yes, it is OBDII). whether it was to be good guy and get it done early, or just so they didn't have to change a lot from model year 95 to model year 96, I don't know.
I think you should drop this. no one bite the first time, starting another thread about it is just spam, and could possiply get you banned. In fact, if I see another post like this, i'm going to request it.sorry to sound like a hard @$$ but I don't come to these forums to eb bombarded by...
I think your turbo is going bad. The seals that keep the oil around the bearings are starting to (or have) failed, letting oil into the compressor housing, which sends it up your intake piping, causing the symptoms you describe. Does your turbo have a lot of shaft play? No, a breather or a...
Thats exactly right, but the point I was making was that DSM's are DSM's because they were built by Diamond Star motors. So only the 1g's are the real DSM's. Any other vehicle is just considered a DSM because it is extreamly similar to the 1g.Technically 95-96 vehicles are DSM's. This is...
To give a completely straight answer to the original question (and sum up a lot of what was said here):In the tuner world:
1) 1g Eclipse/Talon/Lasers are the TRUE DSM's
2) 2g Eclipse/Talons and Galant VR-4s are considered DSM's because they share the same power-plant (4g63, 420A)
3)...
