  1. FS: 2G Interior and Exterior Parts

2G Blitz Kit Pulled my car out of storage after sitting about 6-7 years and have been parting it out. This is a used 4 piece fiberglass body kit removed from a Eagle Talon. This kit was made to fit the 97-99 Eclipse. Will also work on 95-97 Eagle Talons with a little modification and the use of...
  2. shifter bushings

If there is a little bit sticking out, take a pair of cutting pleirs and gently grip the nub and work the pin out. If it breaks again or you accidently cut it, take a new cotter pin and lightly tap (with the mallet) in from the side where the old pin is pushed in.
  3. What do you parents drive?

  4. Something missing in pics (can you find it)

    Battery Tie-down
  5. Need help with rotor replacement on 98 GS-T

You'll need to remove both the caliper and bracket before you can attempt to remove the rotor. The motor may be frozen in place if so I'd suggest soaking the seam between the rotor and hub with PB Blast to help you break it free from the hub. After letting the penetrating oil soak, screw the...
  6. blown engine will engine swap match my model

There are little differences between the two. Here are some things to look for: -Use the 90 TB -Use the 90 Coil pack -Use the 90 Fuel rail as its configured different -Use the 90 oil filter housing, you should get a new gasket when you swap the housings -Use the 90 water pipeBasically...
  7. 6 bolt swap into 95 gst

Luckily you have a 95 which most likely means you have an Eprom ECU. You should really consider getting DSMlink (which requires a 95 ecu) Reasons for considering this as your next mod is that you can turn off the random misfire check in the ECU which is a common problem with a 6-bolt swap. The...
  8. Thanks to DSMTuners...a.k.a. Tuners Love

    Congrats and best of luck!
  9. what is this? pic included

Your "dangler" is a noise filter. It is typically bolted to the intake manifold or on the intake manifold support bracket. Looks like its mounting tab is broken off.
  10. Projector headlight replacement bulbs #

The bulbs in my projector headlights were H3's which is your standard fog light bulb. If the bulb you pulled has a single wire coming off it and the base is the ground, then its an H3. I've also read that newer projector lights have different bulbs, unfortunately I do not know what those new...
  11. My Baby is gone!

I hear ya. I walk by the car every morning where it has sat untouched for the past year and said...that's a good down payment on a house. Good luck with the Hemi and we'll see you back here sometime in the future. :)
  12. purchase my jdm motor.... but.......

I've received 3 JDM engines so far. The first, the truck had a lift gate. The second, we took two big wooden planks and slid it down off the truck. And the third, we backed the truck up to a ledge/retaining wall at my work which was luckily the same height and slid it off the truck, then used a...
  13. Oil Pressure gauge>>>?

The easiest thing to do is remove the factory oil pressure sensor and install your new aftermarket sensor in its place. The factory sensor is the large bell looking sensor on the oil filter housing.
  14. Newbie engine/tranny questions

What it sounds like you are trying to get at is: can you use an inexpensive 4G63 non-turbo block. The answer is no. The NT's internals are not the same, the turbo block is fitted with piston cooling oil squirters. The NT uses the same crank and rods, however the pistons are different. They have...
  15. Painting exhaust manifold [Merged 2-7] paint

Eastwood sells an exhaust manifold paint. It holds up just fine. I've had it on my car for over a year now and its the same color as the day I painted it. It comes in silver and grey.
  16. Oil filter housing/cooler replacment?

The stock unit works fine, the water cooled unit is reccomended for daily driver DSM's as it still cools the oil when your stuck in traffic. You didn't mention if the thing was leaking oil or water. If its leaking water (since you replaced the hoses) make sure you use screw type clamps instead...
  17. What else do I need w/ this intake pipe?

As Defiant mentioned, that stand-alone Injen piece replaces the stock snorkel that goes from the MAF to the turbo and it looks like you'll need the MAF coupler. Now with my Injen pipe, it pushed the whole MAF closer to the fender. If the pipe you purchased does the same thing, you won't be able...
  18. Changing thermostat - HELP!

You don't have to drain the whole system. The housing is pretty high were you can just drain a little bit to pull off the top of the housing without making a huge mess.
  19. Best Sig photo

    Yeah this is the best
  20. "Finding Nemo"

My GF and I got it too. At first I was like Whooaaa, then I was like Whooaa, then Whoooaa.

Oops didn't read the name of the plug, just skimmed.:o
  22. new plugs....now a problem

Did you gap them properly? .028
  23. Water coming from Battery.....

Running an aftermarket stereo with amps puts a load on a battery; overtime this extra strain can take its toll and damage the battery (shorts, leaks, weaken the acid). Sounds like its time for a new battery.
  24. Chassis Variations?

Yeah I threw my buddies GSX up on my lift then the Esi and took a look at the differences. I'm going to pass on all that work, it’s not worth it. I have all the parts laying around to turbo it and will just go that route. Thanks for the insight.
  25. Bought a crazy control car

Being in the RC Car industry I have some inside info on the XMod cars. They are quick and fun for such an inexpensive car, but 25 may be a stretch. I attended the Press Demo for these cars and was informed that Radio Shack will be hosting races for them. Winning one of these races overall will...
  26. Shep Tranny?

I gave him my tranny at the DSM Shootout and it was done 3 weeks later. He said it normally takes 2 weeks but after the shootout, he was blasted with tranny's.The tranny was very tight when I got it back. Its slowly breaking in and getting easier to shift.
  27. Shep Tranny?

I have a Shep built tranny. Extremely nice guy, quick to respond to emails, rebuilt/upgraded my tranny in a timely manor and his prices are very reasonable. If I have tranny work done to any of my other cars in the future, they will go to him.
  28. Possible place to put tv's

About $20 in materials. I did it myself.
  29. new to DSM...help ..comments please!

Price is about right.Yes you'll notice a difference. With minor mild mods, it should stay reliable and not kill your college budget.
  30. engine removal [Merged 7-9]

If thats a pic of your engine, it looks like you have the black brace up by the TB. The black brace spans from the TB to the CAS. It looks like the other bracket by the manifold is missing. I suggest pulling off the driver side motor mount and bolting the hoist chain to one of the 2 front motor...
  31. intake yeh or neh

Don't be fooled by the air intakes you see on ebay, 99% are Civic intakes that happen to fit in the area where your stock pipe is. Now you can go ahead and use the tube, but make certain you use the stock aircan housing with the MAS. The MAS is necessary and you can't get rid of it. If you do go...
  32. Possible place to put tv's

    Visors and passenger airbag location
  33. Chassis Variations?

How much do the chassis' vary if at all from 1G AWD's to FWD's such as an ESi chassis. For instance, my brother just picked up an 92 ESi and we may have access to a totaled 91 AWD with good drivetrain, would we be able to unbolt the the entire drivetrain, rear suspension and fuel tank and bolt...
  34. Any truck experts out there? (? for a class)

My brother is an S-10/ Blazer fanatic and will probably know where to find the image your looking for. He usually posts here too. Search for DSMJeff and PM him your question.
  35. Sup guys, im back.

WB!Good luck with the 6-bolt swap! I just finished mine and now its like my car is bleeding to death. Oil leaks and water leaks from the engine, tranny leaks, X-fer case leaks and to top if off the engine runs like crap. Everything is brand new! Is so frustrating, I think I'm going to drive...

  38. DSM miles

1995 Tsi 182,362 miles till it crankwalked.
  39. 6 bolt

Your 95 ECU is the most sought after ECU for 2G DSM's because it’s the only year that came with an EPROM. This is great for 6-bolt swaps if you plan on getting DSMLink as well (which you really should do with the swap). Reason being is 6-bolt swapped 2G's often suffer from random misfires. There...
  40. Stealth FMIC

Yup, that was mine, the street core was in my house for a total for 24 hours before I shipped it back, I didn't even take off the cardboard. It's a nice core, just wasn't big enough for my needs. ;)
  41. Stealth FMIC

Unfortunately its not on the car yet, my 6-bolt swap and working out all the bugs took much longer than expected and now its winter time so there is no use installing it.The core is the drag core. I origionally bought the street core and decided to return it for the drag after changing my...
  42. Is my ECU fried!!!!!! Please Help

So you're running the car now with 550's and no fuel tuning device? The car is probably just running slobbering rich since the factory ECU thinks its sending signals to 450's.
  43. running like crap

Not to discredit your work, but are you sure you did the timing belt properly? A quick test to check the timing belt properly is to line up the camgears, dowel pins up. Stick a screwdriver between the camgear marks. If the blade of the screwdriver hits the valve cover gasket, its good. Also how...
  44. 2g throttle body boost leak, opinions needed.

I've seen several posts with the same problem; a faulty seal on the TB. Replace the seal or better yet, upgrade to a 1G TB.
  45. Question on reinstalling intake cam on 1G

With the engine at TDC, drop the cam in place dowel pin up. Put the caps on, torque them down, blah blah. Yes now you can properly align your CAS to install it properly. First look at the CAS. You'll notice an indent on one of the spinner tabs, you need to align that indent with a mark on the...

  47. 2G 6-bolt people...Help

Well in efforts to get it running I for some reason decided to hunt furthur for the brown plug and found it inside the loom. So I grounded it and set the timing.Still runs like crap. I pulled the plugs and found oil on top of the pistons.
  48. 2G 6-bolt people...Help

I know you can toggle the CAS to invert it or have it read normal. I tried both and the car acted the same exact way....ran like crap.My wireing is sound, I soldered all the connections they are perfect, but its a good suggestion to check them at the ECU.I'm going to try new cam gears as...
  49. 2G 6-bolt people...Help

Thanks for the info guys. Unfortunately I already did that.I aligned the CAS spinner divot with the mark on the CAS case. And spun the engine to TDC just to make certain I installed it right. No go, even for the heck of it I inverted the CAS 180* to see if it would work. Nope. Even tried...
  50. 2G 6-bolt people...Help

Ok guys, I'm at my wits end chasing down the problem with my car. I'd figure I'd post the symptoms with hopes someone can help me determine what I've been overlooking. Here's the recipe: -96 GSX -SBR 6-bolt with Ross pistons, 1G rods, new bearings, no B-shaft. -Head rebuilt with SS...
