well if the motor started knocking, that means you toasted some bearings...and there would be metal shavings all in that motor..your best bet is to buy a new one...

is it blue or white...i would say valve seals...but you say it doesn't smoke when your driving it?

..try pulling out you ecu and open it up...look and see if the resisters are leaking...or if it smells like fish...those resisters go bad..and start eating away the board

i would try borrowing one before you buy it...just in case thats not the problem...

i was having the same problem when i bought my 90...there was no spark...i changed everything that you changed...cam angle senser, wires,cp,tr unit....it ended up being the ecu...sooo i was try to find an ecu and swap it...im guessing thats the problem
