Thanks for all of this info on the swap. I just wanted to add that Dorman 13898 caliper bolts are the caliper bolts to use. They have a slight shoulder that interfaces with the knuckle mounting hole, and the bolt goes the entire depth of the caliper bolt hole with no poke through.
I agree with that statement. I remember on my first DSM when I was a kid I had the washer hose get sucked in there. Luckily I just had to reset timing and didn't bend anything.
Has anyone seen wear like this on fidanza cam gears (on any other brand)? Got these on a part out. Nothing is sharp, so I am contemplating running them. Just curious what people think might have caused this
Hey guys, I have a bunch of parts to sell. Obtained some from various part outs over the last year. These were going to be used on my own car, but finances are a little tight and I need to liquidate a bit of my stock pile. I included some pics for a generalization of what I have.. I do have HD...
I've been dealing with a low oil pressure issue on my 6 bolt 1g for some time now. When the motor is first started it has good idle pressure at 20-30psi but once its warmed up after driving a half hr or so its around 5-7 psi. These numbers are coming from my vdo gauge. I purchased the gauge...
Get a set of stock bulbs to band aid it. If you really want hids do a retrofit like stated above. Your gunna get nothing but glare from the stock housings, and you'll be blinding other drivers. Some people have no issues with this lol. You could also pickup a pair of aftemarket halogen projector...
Personally , I wish I would have went with this from the gate lol esp since I could have gotten the evo ecu for free from a friend :ohdamn: . stuck with the ostrich because it can be used on honduhs too
Theres the ostrich tuning setup as well. There's a lot less support for it tho. Its basically an eeprom emulator that plugs in where your chip would be. You'd use this with a couple different programs. One being jackal(or werewolf its more optioned older brother ) and tuner pro which is another...
If your maintenance is up to date then id suggest boost gauge, clutch, exhaust, 2g mas with Evo injectors, manual boost controller , modding the 1g bov, and fuel system components fpr, pump ect. personally I prefer to purchase somethings used ( as long as there in good condition of course)...
I recently noticed on my 6 bolt 1g that my oil pressure was on the low side at idle. I picked up a Vdo electric oil pres. gauge to confirm it wasn't my stock sending unit. The new gauge is reading around 5 psi at idle. Not good. One of my most recent mods was installing a 90 oil cooler housing...
I'm in manasquan. Haven't seen many DSMs around anymore, glad to see a local with out. I have a 1g myself, not on the road yet ,but almost done building
Soo well to get back on the subject, does anyone know where to get .030 npr for a $100? after shipping from dsm graveyard its over $180. I don't mind payin that but the price difference is just a little ridiculous.
Yeaaaa, I found those was hoping for something cheaper lol. Being that I can get NPRs on ebay for less then 90 shipped. I might have to bite the bullet tho. the block I have was bored to .030 over for some reason. And it has oem 85.75mm 1g pistons in it, which is non existent when I'm looking to...
Anyone know of anywhere to buy a set of NPR 1g 6 bolt pistons with .030 bore at a reasonable price? I've checked multiple venders everyone has .20 or .40 but no .30:confused:
For the cost to get this done you'd be close in price to a used Sheet metal manifold. Extrude hone is definitely something done to dsms before so many companies made sheet metals manifolds.
If your sanding out your lenses you have to make sure you clear coat the lens. This is because you are removing UV protection. By spraying clear you are adding back that uv coating. Use quality clear coat and you won't have to worry about sanding or buffing ever again.Come to think of it these...
Hobbs switches are for diy kits. They are pressure switches used to activate and power the pump. The "bypass" pump or "recirculation" keeps consistent flow by recirculating the extra pressure.
I agree with you on progressive controllers I just don't really have the 150 to fork out. I think I'll...
Thanks for the reply. I don't think I'm gunna go with a progressive controller anymore because Jackal SD can control it via FPR solenoid. Similar to how ECMlink does I'm guessing. It grounds the solenoid, so you run a relay to the meth pump off of the ground. Works a lot better then those hobbs...
So for my hx35 bep 55, I'm going to use a -10an bung welded into my oil pan(stock location). I'll use 2 45 degree pushlocks. And I know I need 5/8 hose but what kind? I've read that the black hose doesnt resist heat and oil well. Any insight?
Thanks for the info, but I was referring to the hx35(g) unit which is a watercooled turbo. Wasn't sure if it being watercooled would make issues when used with the bep .55Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
I guess the tag on the housing. I thought they all normally had a serial tag. This one just has a sticker.
Both turbos are holding up well? Same seller, same part number they're using, correct?
Anyone running the BEP .55 with this turbo? Is there any clearance issues with the water fittings to the BEP housing? Also does anyone know if it is rebuildable with a standard hx35 rebuild kit?
I've been hawking ebay for an hx35, both rebuilt and rebuildable units. Came across this auction.
NEW HOLSET HX35W TURBOCHARGER - PART NUMBER 4035592 | eBayI haven't seen this type of compressor housing in any of the ones I've seen. anyone have any insight on this?
Just start hawkin partouts for a clear 1gb set. That's what I did got them for under 100. Traded my good 1gb stockers + $80 for "euro"s. Got a set of tsx projectors and denso ballasts goin in. Can't wait to have awesome lighting, sometiing us 1gbers lack

No its longer so it can cone through the bell housing and the scattershield gets fastened to the extra lenght of the bolt with a nutSent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk
I purchased a Threespeed scattershield for my 1g awd a couple years back. Bought it second hand and didn't get the bolt with it. Anyone have any info on the length of the bolt? I contacted Threespeed a couple weeks ago and haven't gotten a response.
Lol I doubt it'll cost you 500 for safc and datalogger. you can find an safc for 100-150 and get a datalogger w/ software for 25. With that setup you can definitely dial in those 550s with the 2g mas. It's already close enough. spend the money you saved on a wideband. Nothing against anything...
