crap, I bought a ebay turbo for smog listed as "oem 14b" for $250Serial: Re NO Y 0060300339It looks like it's in good shape.Looking at the serial, I suppose it's a chinese fake. Anybody confirm? It came with the J pipe, o2 sensor, and o2 housing. Worth paying the return shipping costs?
Jeff from Planted said that it would be at most 3 hours. But most of the time they are pretty fast at getting the specs for the jig.@DSM_love_GST - thank you so much.
Hey Folks,I came across a new vendor that makes seemingly high-quality seat brackets for our beloved cars. The issue is that they do not have a seat brackets made for the 2G application due to the unavailability of the car. I was wondering if anybody in the Seattle area with a 2G can go to...
An update to my problem:Its fixed. My diagnosis was right, the wire running from the starter relay to the starter solenoid did not have proper continuity. After that was fixed, the car started up fine. Thanks for everyone who had an input.
I just finished an automatic to manual transmission swap and I'm having trouble getting the starter to crank. Here are the steps that I have performed:
- I have soldered leads (5) and (8) together from the A101 plug, as well as the various combinations to achieve PARK or NEUTRAL as shown...
I bought a clean "rebuilt" transmission off some jackass, and while it was being installed about 2 cups of water spilled out with oil particles. My partner and I tilted it completely sideways for a few min and nothing else came out.I was just wondering if that requires a rebuild. The water...
I just want to ask for approval of the following:-AUTO LSD Rear => MANUAL LSD Rear: Rear axles are interchangable
-AUTO LSD Rear => MANUAL Non-LSD Rear: You need to use the manual's rear axles-As for the front axles, you need to use both driver and passenger axles from the manual...
After driving 200 miles back to my college, going a average speed of 85mph and under 1bar of boost... I noticed my manifold glowing red... My t28Killer wasn't glowing though though. What causes this? It never happened before...havent installed my egt yet, but if it reads too high could it...
The shop is legit but I thought they were out of business. I knew the former owner, but he quit and moved to Germany a year or two ago. I never heard from him since other than he might of sold his business. I would try calling agian.
The transmission was stock before engine swap. Had no problems whatsoever.
I triple checked my tranny installation and I don't understand why it's grinding after a 6bolt swap with the kiggly kit. What I did was:
I dremeled the kiggly flexplate holes so that it could bolt up to the engine...
Its the generator relay. "The generator relay functions as a back-up for the
flow of electricity to the rotor coil (field coil) if there is a disconnection or damaged wiring of the charging warning light", says the Mitsubishi Tech Manual.
Unless your springs have been stretched or compressed way beyond its limits, the K, spring constant should be the same. I would think it should be really hard to overcompress the springs that you have, especially since its uber thick and was engineered to handle forces upon it. I believe that...
I live in San Luis Obispo where DSS was originally located. Mike, the owner of DSS left to Germany a few years ago, ever since then I believe Buschur Racing took over. I was sad to see hiim go, since I usually stop by the shop to BS around and buy parts every two months.
If it was not already mentioned, don't forget about LarryD. He was the man that inspired me to convert my car to the 97-99 body style. Damn, I still miss his car...just when he swapped everything into the GSX too!
This is just info for the people that don't know that there's a 3 point bar availible for the 2nd Gen Eclipses. I bought mine a while back from from Road Race for ~$90. I will post pictures later for those that are curious to see what it looks like. I also notice that there isn't really a 3...
I am using my M-300 with my DSMLink, thanks to the guys there, the unit logs flawlessly. They have written a method in Java to read in the 0-5v output from the M-300 and convert it to 10:1 to 20:1. According to PLX, the wideband is linear, so a trivial mathematical function should do the trick.
I recommend getting the auto, buy the shift kit, metal end clutches, upgraded torque converter, and TCUGO. www.tcugo.com for the win, heck I'm auto and run the FP3052 daily.:)
Fayt, any possibility of a picture of your cut-off line and light width? I'm more interested in that than a picture of your headlights dead-on.Kinda like these pics:
Its too bad that a company just doesn't manufacture that actual design with the built in lip and vents, that way, we can just purchase them as one piece.
The way I see it is, you're only going to benefit from airbags at a crash <35mph. This is the speed most airbags seem to be tested at. Sure, it can and might also help at 45 or maybe even 50 mph. But, beyond that your internal organs won't stand a fighting chance with the extreme forces of...
I think it would look awesome if you did this kinda hood vent:

That's a new ride I acquired 3 weeks ago. With the help of my brother, both cars were driven out to location. The only mods so far have be asthetics: tint, antenna, debadged trunk, and JDM Evo VII tails. The car is staying stock for now due to the GSX not being fully completed.
I suppose I can submit these pictures for the calendar, I would have to get the super high definition one. Thank you for all the comments and suggestions, I will take all suggestions into consideration for the next time I have a photoshoot. The car used to be Monarch Green. Since then, I...
Thanks for the comments guys. It was a decision to leave the 'parking pass' hanging there because we thought that the camera would pick up what it said on there. Its a rare octane sticker that says "110" a.k.a. race gas. Unfortunately, it did not get picked up on the camera as well as we'd...
So my friend bought his camera over the weekend and messed around with a few of his lenses/camera settings. I'm a total newbie when it comes to photography, so what do DSMers think of the shots/lighting? Some of the photos have been edited in photoshop with increased contrast and removal of...
Well, I finished my install and other than the problem of the bolts getting stuck, it wasn't too bad.As for the question stated above my post, I'm going to have to say that the stock head bolts were designed to be really strong, so you will not have any problems unscrewing it with a proper...
I finally got the bolt out by using something to displace the washer, then *pop* it went out. As far as torquing it down doing the "one by one" method (w/o removing the head), which method is the one to use:Method 1:
After removing the first bolt, replace with headstud and torque the nut...
I'm in the middle of a head stud install w/o removal of head. The first bolt has been unscrewed all the way, the only thing needed is to pull the bolt from its shaft. The problem arises when I try to pull the bolt out. It seems/feels as if the bolt as 'expanded' on the block side of the...
Just bringing this thread back; what was everyone's 'pattern' for removing the stock headbolts? Is there a specific order you have to go through when you remove/install each new stud?
