I'm on my 17th DSM, 2 1g FWD's (1 n/a & 1 turbo), 12 1g AWD's, 1 2g TSi fwd & 2 2g AWD's, currently building my 2nd 2G AWD, 95 AWD w/ 6 bolt and some goodies. Only car on that list I didn't dump a bunch of money into was the n/a 1g, all the rest ran pretty good. All of this over the past 9 years.
Get your money back. Or if you really want to keep it try some Marvel Mystery Oil and let it soak and work it back and forth very easily, stuff does wonders, stay away from ATF.
I've ran wayyy worse with alot of power and never had issues. Although the proper way to do it would be to resurface it, I personally wouldn't worry about it, it's not that bad at all.
No, the recall is good for ONE part only, they replace your original part with a new redesigned part. You can't go back every couple years and get a new one, I thought this was common knowledge, guess not...
I've tried MANY different muffler combos, my current setup is an Apexi 3" DP, no cat, 3" Dynomax racebullet (looks like a glasspack), it's sorta quiet at idle, has the deepest tone I've heard in a turbo'd DSM and sounds like nothing else under WOT. I'm very pleased with it.
No problem. No but I run an auto repair shop & do warranty work for Chrysler Corporation here on Kodiak Island (Alaska) as there is no dealer here anymore.
All Engines & all transmissions means that it could accept any engine or transmission made for that body style that year. Customer preffered packages were for the extra options that a customer would request, your car has none. it says no Special or Dealer installed equipment available.
All those VIN decoders suck, here's your VIN decoded straight off the chrysler dealer connect site, I've got special access to it...Standard Equipment

^^^wayyyy overkill on the oil changes dude^^^It's pretty obvious that the clearances were wrong, plain & simple. You shouldn't have that much trash at all if you properly cleaned everything (like you should do) before assembling an engine. One oil change at around 100 miles & another around...
OMFG!!! Can any of you read the posts? I've read the correct answer 5,6,7 damn times now and people still asking the same thing....READ THE DAMN POSTS PEOPLE
Werd, I don't see any problems with running a stubby shaft, MANY of us use them in high HP motors and have no problems with any oil pumps or gears wearing out. Waste of money in my opinion...
I've had a few odd ones...82 Toyota 2wd reg cab short bed p/u with a 421ci SBC, 9" rear, 6 speed, etc... Some dumb bi*** t-boned me while I was driving to school back in 96, got parted out...88 RX7 with a 406 SBC, was a very fun car, mad tyte drifting y0.and a 4g63 powered 88...
HRD & MAC are a joke, CARZ is a definate NO, they've done more harm then help to many many cars. PFI is more biased towards Hondas. I wouldn't recommend anyone but Jacks Trannies, he does alot more then just trannies and definately knows his way around a DSM.
On my current 2G DSM...
Best: 6 bolt swap & Apexi 3" catless turbo back w/ Dynomax race bulletWorst: umm, this is my 16th DSM, I don't buy shitty parts anymore, lol.
