I'm thinking about purchasing the AXIS Reverb rims but was wondering if I should stay away from them because of their hollow spokes. Do you think they would break, bend, or crack easily because of this?
I feel bad I can't help but I didn't want to ignore your question. I did fix the problem, but I honestly can't remember what I did. I don't think its the boost controller though, you must have installed it wrong somehow just as I did. Which boost controller did you buy?
Whenever i turn on the heat at any level, a vibrate or very fast ticking sound comes from somewhere in the dash by like the glovebox/airbag area. Does anyone have or know how to fix this problem?
When I installed an ebay boost controller the way the provided instructions showed, it worked perfectly, but the blow off valve fluttered and sounded like crap. I re-installed the boost controller exactly the way that was described in the forums, on vfaq, and many other sites. I am boosting like...
i saw it at a car show once... "The Sky will include a 170-hp, 2.4-L, 4-cylinder engine, 162 ft. lbs. torque, a 5-spd manual transmission with short throw shifter and self adjusting clutch. Projector beam halogen headlamps and foglamps will light up the road like no other while you are riding...
yea thats what im going to do... the instructions that came with the mbc are a little different but i will try hooking it up the way you described along with plugging the vacuum line that goes back to the intake and see what happens. thanks
Instead of intalling the boost controller somewhere else, i was thinking about tapping the boost guage to the fuel pressure solenoid. This way there is only one t-fitting (for the boost controller) on the vacuum hose going to the throttle body and hopefully it will sound the same way it did...
After I installed a manual boost controller(ebay) my blow off valve(greddy type-s) barely makes any sound at all... even at full boost. I have both the boost controller and boost guage tapped into the vacuum hose that goes from the blow off valve to the throttle body. Did the sound of the BOV...
I have been using Kuhmo ASX 205/55/16 for about a year and have no complaints. Good in summer and winter. Much better than the all-season Continentals I had on before.
I would say to just to a couple of simple modifications like an intake or exhaust so you dont spend too much money and enjoy the car while you have it.
1) You dont need a S-AFC if you only change your fuel pump. If you upgrade your injectors then you would. Most like to use a data-logger when changing their turbo just to be safe.
2) Quarter mile times will vary.
3) They make an install kit for the 16g to make installation easier.
4) If...
I am planning to move my boost guage to my glove box for my own preference. The thing is I can't find any more nylon tubing that came with the gauge. Can i just use a vacuum hose and connect it straight to the guage itself? Or should I use vacuum hose to extend it most of the way and connect it...
Does anyone have any sound clips of wat their turboed dsm sounds like with the Apex World Sport exhaust? I am about to purchase one before the end of today so any opinions would be appreciated.
yea... i didnt have the right gapping tool, but now i do... i really asked the question to see if its was worth adjusting the gap(since the car was running fine) or just leaving it alone... thanks for the responses
i checked the gap on my spark plugs today and they were at around .04 in. and my car is running fine. wat would some symptoms be of having the gap larger than its spossed to be? bad gas mileage, plugs wont last as long
i wanted to change my fuel filter for tune-up purposes but have absolutely no idea where to start... can you help me out or show me where a write up for this is (i tried searching and looked through vfaq)
im sorry to have to ask this but i couldnt find it although i have a feeling its been answered a bunch of times... i kno that people crush the 1g bov so that it can hold more boost, but how much boost can it handle on its own (without being crushed)
i was just curious if anyone uses fuel injection every three thousand miles or if you think its a waste of money. its only a couple of dollars so it couldnt hurt right?
I went to the dealer to get some spark plugs and ended up with champion plugs... i searched the site to find they are for the non-turbos? i just want to make sure before i get mad at the guy who sold me the plugs after i told him my car was turbo like five times.
how much of a performance gain are you really looking at if upgrading a 2g with a 1g throttle body and intake manifold... or are you just getting better throttle response?
is there really any difference in performance between an axle-back and cat-back if you were planning to keep the rest of the exhaust stock? since the price difference is a lil over 200 for just the extra piping to the cat, is it really worth it?5zigen axle-back - $246
5zigen cat-back - $479
lol... ok i see if they have anything like that at an auto parts store... i was wondering if i could like submerge it in water or some chemical to get rid of some old oil type buildup
I was looking at the apex ni downpipe and just wanted to make sure that it would fit on a completely stock exhaust. Also was curious if it would cause any boost creep. I couldn't really find an article on this and please dont refer me to the tuning guide.(mods: greddy piping and bov, k&n...
My mechanic put it a new head with new seals, piston rods, and bigger valves, but white smoke still comes out the exhaust sometimes and go away when i drive. He said that sometimes it will spit out white smoke cuz the turbo shoots the air into the bigger valves.. and the exhaust smoke shoots...
Problem is... when i race my gears grind from second to third... it still goes in, but i hear a short grinding noise. All of my other gears are fine and it doesnt happen when i drive normally. From what i read people suggest changing the trasmission fluid, but they all had the problem when...
wat did you adjust your konis too... i just got them installed and don't know if i should put them on 100% stiff or not... my car is a daily driver and im just looking for a little street performance
i just installed an injen intake pipe, k&n filter (not FIPK), greddy intercooler piping, and greddy type s...the filter isnt really held up by anything like the FIPK... what can i put to hold it up better so it doesnt bounce around?second... my blow off valve recirculation tube doesnt...
